HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Light, fast, crisp & clear screen, can go wireless with Bluetooth adapter.

Weakness: Bluetooth card is an extra cost and has to be put in the expansion slot. Also-- would prefer a metal housing instead of plastic.

I can't even begin to compare this to my old Palm Pilot. WOW! Just much faster and nicer except for the plastic housing. Good for the $$, though.

What are you talking Doesn't this IPAQ 1945 comes with a built in bluetooth. So the SD slot is still available when using Bluetooth.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Tiny size (4.46 x 2.75 x .50 in.), Light weight (4.3 oz), Support mp3, wma, mpeg movies, Itegrated bluetooth

Weakness: Only one SD expansion slot (SD is expensive)

I had installed several programs on my iPAQ 1945. There were problems several times. One of them was Virtual Display setup. It should be installed on the default memory space not on the iPAQ File Store or expansion card.
Other problems were solved by changing the program install order. I think they are just OS problems.
Sandisk Wi-Fi SD card worked fine with a iPAQ 1945 but smaller antenna size would be better.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: PRICE, Lightweight, Bluetooth, SD Card.

Weakness: Battery Life.

This is by far one of the best PDA's you can buy for your money. It features a Samsung chip which actually works better than the intel Xscale models. Also the lightweight, gives this product extra points over its competitiors. It also features Bluetooth, for those of you with Bluetooth enabled Cell phones, and other devices, as well as the Secure Digital (SD Card) over compact flash.

I love this device, and would recommend it to anyone as your first and probably last pda. FOR THE MONEY

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Windows operating system familiarity makes this easy to set up and use. With Pocket Word and Pocket Excel you don't have to carry the jump drive to work, just upload to your PC and down load at home.

Weakness: The software manual is on the disk so either have a fast printer at home or take it to work to print out. In addition unless you have blutooth access internet access may be tricky to set up.

I would definetly buy another one, but for true internet access the next model up might be suggested. I also suggest a protective case there are a lot on the market. An aluminum one is usually the best protection howqever beware that you cannot sync with the case on the cradle. I bought a second sync cord and I don't have to take it out of the case unless I nees to.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: small, completely streaming audio/video support

Weakness: 2.5mm audio jack, beware of random hard reset

this is nice little mobile internet toy
with bt, listening internet radio station on the street is now possible (requires a bt phone and unlimited GPRS, of course)
mp3/ogg playback (with gsplayer)
it can be possible to watch streaming video and mp3 radios through bt sync, but the speed is only around 200k
this is a major problem that pretty annoying: random hard reset, luckily I often backup the calendar and contacts onto rom, and SD card, but re-installing and setup again is EXTREMELY annoying
no base is okay for me, I only use it when charging extra battery (actually, I use bt to sync, which don't require wire)
I wonder why it uses 2.5mm jack instead of 3.5mm, I lost the adaptor, and I have to make couple of them, HP should listen
I'd like to give advice to 1940/1945 users
1. purchase couple more of batteries if you use it mainly for mp3/ogg playback, and internet
2. pls, do backup your important information as frequent as possible, becoz you'll never know when the random hard reset happens

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Great form factor. Smaller and lighter than my Pallm V. -Great screen, i.e. brightness, contrast, color, sharpness, etc. I don't really notice the yellowish tint that other reviews (here and on other sites) have mentioned. -Great price. I purchased one

Weakness: No screen protector. The ones I found in the store are twice as much as compared to other PDA's (i.e. $20 for 12 as compared to $10 for most other PDA's) -Documentation is terrible and is basically useless. -Blue tooth difficult to setup. -Only one e

I almost bought a Dell Axim X5 but they were not avail at any store for a test drive, a big downside, buying blind online. I am so happy with the IPAQ's small design, it is great. Its awesome for music. It cam play MP3 and WMA and can be upgraded free to play MPEG movies by installing free pocket tv for pocket pc.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Lightweight, very fast response, lots of memory!

Weakness: The only one I can think of has to do with the battery power. Sometimes I go days w/o syncing and when I really need to use it the batteries low, but that's on me. I may go two weeks w/o syncing.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product. Lot's of memory. My husband downloaded the entire bible on his! Lot's of cool features. I've downloaded songs, pictures, Excel spreadsheets. I even have MicroSoft money downloaded onto it as well. You can put anything on this machine.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: Small, quick, sleak and strong. with a 266MHz chip, it humes.

Weakness: The casing (specially the back) can be more steardy. I wish it would come with some sort of carrying case (even cheap plastic one), till I have a chance to purchase one...

Like Windows XP, it pops up quickly. It has been reliable and the battery life is very acceptable. The screen is very crisp. I am a SW developer and I have already build a few small apps for it using MS Visual Studio .Net (with Compact framework). I have not had any problems with the hardware. The audio and video components are very nice. I have not tried to use it in a remote situation.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Strengths: small, lightweight, removable battery w/good capacity, good resolution screen

Weakness: package does not include any case or slipcover, does not include cradle

Having been a 3-time Palm owner, making the switch to Pocket PC was a tough choice. While I'm still not comfortable with the operating system (hey, it's only been 2 days), I'm glad I made the jump. It's not as intuitive as the Palm OS, but Outlook is a very powerful tool.

Stongly considered Dell, but the size and weight, along with the very generous trade-in rebate currently being offered by HP helped me make the choice.

HP (Hewlett-Packard) iPAQ h1945 Pocket PC

Weakness: I would have liked to see a case to protect PDA.

I liked that the 1945 was no nice and small. It was light enough to have in front shirt pocket. The price was right and its really not worth getting something more expensive.

HP iPAQ 1940 Review

The iPAQ 1940 and 1945 are HP's follow-up to the the hugely popular, slim and elegant iPAQ 1910. Though the 1945 looks the same as the 1910 with the exception of some minor trim changes, it has several notable improvements over the 1910, while maintaining the $299 list price. The 1945 runs the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system has integrated Bluetooth and supports SDIO. While the 1910 wasn't...
