YP-FIZ MP3 playerStrengths: excellent playback, small size, easy to use Weakness: haven't found one yet This MP3 player is awesome, it's small enough to be extremely helpful to a busy life but not too small where it's hard to use. I love the fact that it's chargeable, thats it's best asset, I would recommend this to anyone! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

May 8, 2006 Was given one recently as a gift. I am very dissappointed with the length of Battery charge. I seem to be getting between 1-2 hrs on a full charge. I use it mostly for running, and it is frustrating when it switches off when I am out running. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong. Has anyone else had the same experience. Otherwise I am very happy with it.

Small size big valueStrengths: Small size, great sound quality, easy to use. Weakness: The headphones. I like the YP-F1Z because it's compact and it doesn't get in the way when you're on the go. The sound quality is great and it hold's a lot of music for it's size. Another nice feature is because it's flash memory it doesn't skip during playback. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Good ValueStrengths: small size. Weakness: short battery life (~10 hours) compare to the Sony (~50) hours. The manual says that the rechargeable battery is a consumable item and its capacity will decrease gradually. If you charge the battery and it is not completely drained, the battery operating time will decrease. I don't see how you can avoid not charging it before it is drained since everytime you connect to USB to transfer files, it is automatically being charged as it is using the same connection. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Samsung YP-F1Z is a great playerStrengths: Small, fits easily in pocket. Easy to use, screen has good resolution and is easy to read. Built in clip comes in handy and does not add to players size. Weakness: Don't like white color of included earphones. Would like to have a line-in record capability. Radio works well, voice record is good quality. Included USB power cord is also used for data transfer. I recommend also purchasing a 115v to USB power adaptor (ebay ~$7), that will allow you to recharge it without needing a running computer. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Great little player!Strengths: Small size, lots of memory. Great sound. Great carrying options (belt clip or unique neck-hang). Music is easy (and fast) to load. Weakness: Does not have replaceable batteries. Battery has memory effect (if you charge it up before it's completely run down, it will decrease its charge capacity). User interface is slightly complex. 1GB of great sounding music for around $100. Memory is flash, so there's no moving parts & no skips. However it also can't be upgraded. I mainly us it for the gym, walking, and bike riding. I really like the unique "necklace" for the player. It keeps the player out of the way and stable, but also easily accessable. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Big features in a small packageStrengths: - size is definitely a plus, perfect for the gym, running, etc. - supports multiple formats - great sound - built in radio a plus Weakness: - headphones not the greatest - battery life could be longer (8-10 hrs) Overall I am pleased with this product for the short time I am using it. Great option for a person with an active lifestyle. I wish they offered it with more built in memory (2-4 GB). 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Best mp3 player everStrengths: Small (very portable), Great sound quality, plays Ogg Vorbis! Weakness: Included software is not very usefull It works great. I have not had any problems with it whatsoever. It is a million times better than the iPod shuffle and is about the same price. The features are great. It can record FM radio or voice. It works fine on Mac and Windows, just be sure to plug it in after the computer is turned on, otherwise it acts just like a flash drive. You can throw you music on there and go. 95% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Awesome Runner's MP3 Player/RadioStrengths: 1. Does NOT require using an armband - only tiny player with waist clip. 2. FM radio/tuner. 3. The unit has 1 GB of memory = tons of tunes. 4. Supports loads of formats. Weakness: NONE! This is the perfect MP3 player for runners. I say this because it is just about the only tiny (and boy is it tiny) MP3 player on the market that has a body/belt clip instead of the non ubiquitous armband/neckstrap cop out solution that most manufacturers seem to employ (and which saves them an arm and a leg on manufacturing and creates a secondard revenue stream for them by selling accessories). I've owned at least 10 MP3 players and all of the best for exercising and running were those that had belt clips. Way to go Samsung for hanging in there with such a model. And, it is really nice to have the FM Radio for those times when you just need a break from the songs. 91% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Samsung YP-F1ZStrengths: Small size, clip-on convenience. Weakness: Fm reception, software, user manual. As this is my first mp3 player, my inexperience may contribute to some of the negative impressions I have. The manual doesn't guide one through the setup procedure very well-you have to jump between sections, and important points are added almost as an afterthought(i.e. tips on naming files). 75% of readers found this review helpful. Unique MP3 designStrengths: Smallness.Lots of EQ settings, Good Bass enhancements settings. Weakness: Neckstrap is connected to earphones and cannot be separated. Short battery life. Radio reception is not sensitive enough. Mic is not sensitive enough for lectures. Nice design. Too bad the battery life is shorter than the stated 10hrs. Tried to record multiple lectures in one day but the battery did not last 8hrs. The included earphones are not very good (poor bass response). 67% of readers found this review helpful. Samsung: the new SonyStrengths: Lithium Polymer battery gives long-life in a small package. The integrated headphone/usb/power interface is cool and also keeps size down. Has a display, unlike the iPod Shuffle. Weakness: The backlight on the display never shuts off; it seems like batteries might last even longer if it did. This tiny, stylish player from Samsung is, as of early 2k6, definitely one of the best flash players on the market. The only players I know of that can compete with it for title of smallest mp3 player are the notable MobiBlu cube and the not-so-noteworthy iPod Shuffle (which has a clunky old USB interface and no display). The user interface is pretty easy to use. 4 buttons, plus a push-button/toggle switch for volume and menu navigation make changing settings a pretty intuitive process-- a good thing, becuase there are quite a few to set. I found the eq settings to be robust, and more than I expected from such a tiny device. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Feb 10, 2006 I just remembered that the MobiBlu has USB 1 while this player has USB 2 (much faster).

YP-F1Z 1GB MP3 PlayerStrengths: Small and convient, sounds it clear and FM radio works pretty well Weakness: software: need a cd ripper So pleased that I am buying another YP-F1Z for my teenage son. I believe he will enjoy taking this along instead of a CD player. I like that I can switch to FM radio, add delete music when necessary. 60% of readers found this review helpful. Great small mp3 playerStrengths: Small, easy to use and bring, have a FM-radio, build in clip Weakness: battery life, doesn't play mpeg4 files, display does not have background light This is a great player if you wan't a small one with a display. It is easy to transfer files to it by just simply drag and drop them to the player using windows explorer. The only thing I can complain about is the battery life. I havn't been able to make it last for 10 hrs (like the description said) even though I followed the instructions in the manual for extending battery life. Also, since the battery is buil-in it requires access to a computer in order to load it. 33% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Awesome MP3!Strengths: Built-in clip; small size; very lightweight; lots of features; great headphones Weakness: short battery life I looked for a long time for an MP3 player - I'm a runner and I didn't want to strap one to my arm. I love the built-in clip - I clip it on to my shorts and away I go. The sound in the headphones is really good. The 1G size is great - I have yet to fill it up. The buttons are easy to maneuvre when I'm running. The only drawback is the battery life. I agree with other reviewers - I have yet to get to 10 hours, as indicated by SamSung. Other than that, this is a perfect player. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

YP-F1Z 1GB MP3 playerStrengths: small and light, perfect for workout. Weakness: My big fingers can't get used to the small buttons. It is great, small and light. But the headphones are kind of cheap. Another wonderful feature is the charging instead of changing battery. The software is very easy to use. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Samsung yepp YP-F1Z 1 GB Flash MP3 Player - WhiteStrengths: This MP3 player is very user-friendly and produces a great sound. Its small size is another great advantage Weakness: I've found none. I researched MP3 players on-oine for approximately two weeks before I decided on this particular one. There are players with more options and more storage, but I was looking for something that played music! The other bells and whistles had no appeal. I have a couple hundred songs loaded and cannot honesty see a need for more than that. If you want a compact, easy to use, inexpensive MP3 player, this one's for you. Samsung YP-F1Z 1GB Digital Audio PlayerStrengths: Small. Light weight. Great sound. Belt clip makes it great for use at the gym, running, hiking, climbing, etc. Good value for the money (I paid $115, which included cost of shipping) Weakness: Poor support for software, technical guidance, and accessories. Operating system is not compatible with MusicMatch Jukebox. Overall, the hardware itself is great. The unit operation is fairly intuitive, but takes a little time to figure out in total. The operations manual isn't the greatest, but is functional. I loaded my unit using Windows Explorer because the software included wasn't user-friendly and my MMJB software wasn't compatible with the unit's operating system. One thing that I found to be very irritating was the fact that the model only comes in white and even though you can change to a different colored shell, these are hard to find and cost $16 each through the Samsung website. I find this to be very cheesey on the part of Samsung. Regardless of the drawbacks, however, I still find the unit to be a better value for the money than the iPod Shuffle that I bought my son at the same time. If Samsung could somehow get their act together on the support issue they might someday be able to compete with the iPod line. Somehow, though, I don't think it's going to happen as this is just one of a large number of product lines and it's not getting the priority that the iPod gets from Apple. That said, however, I still recommend purchasing the unit. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Samsung YP-F1G MP3 player is a great buy
Strengths: The small size makes it very easy to clip on while working out. This is my first player and the buttons and menus have been easy to figure out.
Weakness: It would be nice if it were a little easier to switch between the radio and the player, but it's a small problem.
This is my first experience with a music player and I really like the YP-F1Z. I wanted something very small, but with a lot of features and this unit has both. The player and the manual are both user friendly so I've had no problems setting it up. Samsung has a good web site so I was able to read the manual before the player arrived. The display on the screen has a lot more information than I expected on a small player. Some of the large players are okay if you're sitting around. This player is perfect for working out, running, etc.
