Ultra V-Series 500-Watt

Strengths: good for the price; ugly version of more expensive psu

Weakness: can get noisy at higher watt draw

Good assortment of connectors-- Excellent value in a power supply. In addition you can upgrade the warranty to lifetime status if you register online. I see a lot of power supplies in this price range that do not get good reviews, are D.O.A., loud fans etc-- not this one! This will be my first choice the next time I need a power supply.

Ultra V-Series Black 500w PSU

Strengths: Nice big 120mm fan! Simple, basic and performs nicely.

Weakness: May be a bit too basic for hard core modders. Only 1 PCI Express and 2 SATA connectors.

Good basic power supply unit with a 120mm fan. Pretty quiet and adequate for a basic simple system. Been using it for 2 weeks now and haven't had any problems with it. Only drawback is only 1 PCI Express connector so no dual video card support and only 2 SATA connectors. Overall, a surprisingly worthy power supply unit for the price.

Don't buy if planning on getting rebate

Strengths: Average power supply

Weakness: Rebates don't trust them, very sloppy. Customer service absolutely rude and not helpful one even hanged up on me. But i guess after a few months they did shape up.

Ultra Products is horrible with rebates DO NOT BUY FROM THEM IF YOU WANT A REBATE. They said i had the correct rebate UPC code and everything but there was no rebate promotion going on during that time. When i have the pdf file of the promotion stating the exact date i purchased was within the promotion period. After months and days of talking to them on the phone and online they just started to ignore me after hanging up on me. Saying let me talk to my manager and then putting me on hold and hanging up instantly after. ULTRA REBATES is horrible void like the plague. Trust me if you don't believe my claim let me tell you that ive gotten every rebate that ive submitted up till now except ultra's.

After a few months of talking to them i finally received a check on 5/14 whether it was because an internal error, I have no idea but the fact is I now have received both my rebates from Ultra.

Great PSU at great price

Strengths: Nice looking, powerful, very quiet PSU

Weakness: None found so far

Hat it running on my new built Athlon 64 X2 computer for 30 days without any problems. Very please with this PSU. Apparentlt this PSU is backed with limited life time warranty from the manufacturer as some have pointed out. Awesome.

Strengths: Good price, easy to install, 120mm fan

I bought this power supply at a very good price a few months ago, it is working great. It is compatible with both AMD and Intel CPUs, very easy to install. It also comes with all the accessories that I need.

V-Series means VALUE!

Strengths: Quiet, 500W, Solid Construction, Value priced

Weakness: Only 2 SATA Connectors, 1 PCI Connector

I am very impressed with the quality and value of this PSU. I had this delivered for $10AR and the price certainly can't be beat. The PSU was very easy to install and the packaging and instructions included were very well done (images of each of the types of connectors, as well as documentation of how to use them).
I only wish that it had more than the 2 SATA connectors, but I knew this limitation before ordering it. Great product, as long as it continues to perform, and a lifetime warranty if it doesn't. Value!

Great Power Supply for the Price

This is a very good power supply. I bought it for $10 after rebate, and, assuming that the rebate comes, I could not be more happier. It is very quiet, looks great, and my system runs very smooth. Great product.

Great Power Supply

Strengths: Quiet, many connections, 120mm Fan, SATA, Lifetime warranty if you register

Weakness: Died after 6 months but recieved new one free of charge under the warranty

It has a good price and good features. It's nothing special but is stable and easy to install. Has many connections that I will probably never use up. Since it has a lifetime warranty, if it dies they send you a new one within a week. Great customer service.

Ultra/ V-Series 500W Power Supply

Strengths: 20/24 connection, SATA and PCI express connection.

Weakness: none

Durable, high performance power supply with a 120mm fan. Cables are very flexible and can be routed out of sight for a cleaner look and better cooling. Unlike the power supply that came with my case this one has very stable voltage and is very quiet. It has 20/24 pin motherboard connection along 2 SATA connectors.

Great basic power supply!!!

Strengths: Solid performance, good simple looks, great price, 120mm fan

Weakness: Must register product to get full lifetime warranty

This PSU has performed admirably so far. I've owned several other Ultra power supplies and must say their quality has improved over the years. I especially like this power supply because it was so cheap, comes with a fairly quiet 120mm fan, and offers a ton of connections and power. Definitely be sure to register your product with Ultra in order to have the lifetime warranty though!

Strengths: Noise Level, 120MM fan.

Weakness: I don't see anything yet.

This is a nice Power Supply I have. I have few. But this one has 120MM fan, it's better than another one. Noise level.
It has a lifetime warranty, what a nice power supply.

Ultra Vseries 500watt SATA ready PSU

Strengths: Silent powerful PSU, nice looking, handles all my hardware needs in my pc, connected with many fans 2 HDs, 2 dvd roms ...etc. Price is the best

Weakness: no light insides.

Would definitely buy again and highly recommended. Comes with Life time warranty. How can any other beat this with this price. I am using 5 PSU with Ultra, never had a problem yet. I have been using ULTRA for 2-3 years.

Best Buy

Strengths: Quite Powerful And Easy Install

Ultra 500watt

Strengths: Price, Color, Ease of plugging in and installation, many different plugs/pins

Weakness: Size - too big, Quality - doesnt last long, ont very quiet

I purchased this through RadioShack when it was on sale for $10. I wish I hadnt though. The size is akward and bulky and doesnt fit into my case. When I got a new case and set it up, the product was very noisy and didnt last long. Also, there is no light indicator stating that the power is on or off. When I first opened it, I thought it was dead on arrival, but it turns out that there is no noise until everything is plugged in. The good thigns are that it is very shiny and pretty. It has many different pins for all your hardware to fit into. Installation was easy and fast. It was cheap.

What a noisy monster!

Strengths: it works (at least it worked for 2 weeks.)

Weakness: noisy

This power supply is something that I would definitely *not* consider buying again. Heck, even if someone gave it to me for free I wouldn't take it. The thing works, but is mega noisy! After enduring it for about 10 days I forked out $130 for a Seasonic S12 silent power supply and I must say: aaaah, what a difference! This Ultra piece of work i headed straight for the garbage can.

Great cheap power supply

Strengths: Quiet, cheap, long wires

Weakness: Not totally silent like some had mentioned, you can detect it from about 5 ft away.

I would highly recommend this power supply. At least get some to have around as backups. I got this for $9.99 after rebates from Radio Shack and have used it as a replacement in my parents computer. It's loaded with large drives, multiple cd/dvd burners, etc. and still has plenty of juice to go around.

ULTRA 500-Watt Power Supply

Strengths: Well made, quiet, full featured

Weakness: None so far

Easy to install, complete with screws, and power cable. Large fan is very quiet (hard drive, when accessed is louder!). Complete with every necessary connector (inc PCIE & SATA) - all good quality. 500w to suit any application. Working perfectly. Delighted with this purchase.

Decent power supply

Strengths: Easy to install and runs quiet. I like the big cooling fan!

Weakness: None so far!

Good power supply for the money. I needed more power for my vidoe card and the stock power supply wasn't enough. No problems so far and if so it has a lifetime warranty....as long as it doesn't fry my computer!!

nice for the price PSU

Strengths: decent power for a cheap PSU, not too loud

Weakness: could have better rail rating

overall, this is a great PSU to have as an extra for those family computer builds. Price is right for this quality PSU. Provided plenty of power for an Athlon 3300, 2 hard drives, an x800 PCI Express card and a dual layer DVD burner.

Good Value with rebates

Strengths: Value after rebates.

Weakness: Wires are thin.

This power supply is a competent one, but has its greatest value in price after rebates. The length of the connectors is adequate. Having SATA connectors is common now days, but a plus in a value priced power supply.

Ultra 500W V-Series PSU

Strengths: Plenty of power for an average computer, Quiet, All connections needed for an up to date computer. ie: 2 sata, 1 pci express, 20/24 pin mobo connector.

Weakness: none

Very nice PSU for the price (especially after rebates). Some people may complain about it only having 2 sata connectors, but I think it is just fine. The wires seem plenty long for most to all mid sized cases.

Ultra V series 500Watt Power

Strengths: Easy to Install. Excellent. Worth for the price

Weakness: Heavy

I just installed this power supply in my New Ultra ATX case. This is easy to install. Working excellent. Low noise.Reasonably priced. There are other brands avilable in the market for low price. But the features and wattage this is worth.

Ultra V-Series 500-watt

Strengths: Quiet, has 24 pin connector & good looks.

Weakness: None

I installed this power supply in a new computer that I use for storage. This computer has four hard drives and a single DVD burner installed. The computer has been on twenty-four hours a day for a week and shows no signs of any problems. This power supply does not have the fancy cabling system as on other Ultra power supplies, but works just fine.

It's a nice looking and solid psu with a lot of plug in pins. It has a 120mm fan and very quiet. Well worth the money.

Great Deal for the Price

Weakness: Unknown brand

For the price of only $5 after rebate, this is an awsome product. The product is easy to install, and I haven't had any problems with it. However, I am not familiar with the reliability of the Ultra brand, so I have have used this power supply in a cheap system. Power supplies are an integral component of any desktop system, so I didn't want to use an unknown brand in a high-tier system.
