No problems, recommended

Strengths: Silent, fast, not expensive

Weakness: None

I have upgraded from a Seagate 160GB EIDE disk to this Samsung 250GB SATA disk very easily. I have used Seagate Discwizard 2003 to transfer everything from the old Seagate disk to the new Samsung. Although Discwizard gave a warning about the non-Seagate destination disk, it worked. The only problem was I had to reinstall Office, it did not work after the transfer. The Samsung disc seems to be working fine and cool, and performance is slightly better. I can not comment on its reliability, but the reviews on the internet are positive about its reliability.

Nice drive from Samsung

Strengths: Pretty quite. Cool running.

Weakness: Not as silent as Barracuda IV

I'm using this drive in an external SATA enclosure. It runs about 10 degrees cooler than a WD sata drive I previously owned. It is also quiter than that. I guess power consumption is less also.

However, I'm a bit dissapointed about noise level of the drive. Barracuda IV I owned years ago was quiter than this one. It is sad that as technology advances, hard disks become more noisy. However, I guess that this is one of he quietest drive on the market right now.

I'm usually more interested than silence than the performance, so I don't know if the performance is different than the similar drives. I did not see any noticable difference between this and my previous WD 7200rpm drive, though I did not do any benchmarking.

Nice Drive

Strengths: Quiet, SATA II, fast

Weakness: Warranty could be longer

Although the brand isn't as well known as other mainstream manufacturers, this drive performs just as well. It offers a 3-yr warranty, which is good enough for everyday usage. Having a SATA II interface is nice as well. The price/GB ratio after savings makes this drive a great buy.

In the product details of Samsung SP2504C HDD, It is clearly written that HDD INTERFACE is of SATA Type....So How can it be SATA II written by KTL...Please clear out confusion that weather it is SATA or SATA II interface type..
Thanks!!

Good Drive

Strengths: Quiet, runs cool

Weakness: none

So far, all is good with this hard drive. It was rated very well on other sites, which is what led me to purchase it. Samsung has a very good reputation for hard drives, and I have no complaints about this drive.
