ABIT KV8-MAX3 Desktop Motherboard - VIA VIA K8T800...

Strengths: Good cooling,2 onboard fans.

Weakness: The Abit Guru didn't like the Thermatake 1838a Silent fan, the speed of this fan is to low for it to monitor right, it would beep so Guru had to be disabled. Onboard Silicon Image Raid Controller.

I had high hopes for this board but they were quickly doused by the Onboard Silicon Image Raid Controller (3114a) and it's inabilitly to create a Raid 10,(4hard drives/striped with mirror). After 30 times or more trying to load XP Pro I gave up and returned the board for a loss. The documentation included with this board for this controller is very poor if not a joke, there is none. Updates/ techsupport no help for this problem. If anyone out there has had success creating a Raid 10 with this board/Silicon Image controller please write a review and let me know. Thanks rgv

ABIT KV8-MAX3 Desktop Motherboard - VIA VIA K8T800...

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: Nothing

well, its a great mobo with built in SATA Raid and 5.1 audio, as well as a ton of other stuff. It is packed with extras. I have found this mobo to work great with my 3200+.
I would definately look at ABIT for my next MoBo purchase
