Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Small size, holds charge well, long life. Weakness: None that I know of. The battery lasts a long time, providing longer camera usage time before a recharge is required. I got one EN-EL5 with my Nikon camera and purchased a second one recently to use as a backup battery. The Nikon MH-61 charger is convenient and relatively fast for charging these EN-EL5 batteries. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: OEM Product. Weakness: Non found. This is the only rechargeable battery that Nikon supports for the CP3700, 4200 & 5200. Though cheaper aftermarket versions are available, the monetary difference is not a significant amount & Nikon does not gurantee aftermarket batteries to be compatible with their cameras. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Reasonable cost, charges fast Weakness: None I bought an extra Nikon-branded EN-EL5 for my Coolpix 3700 camera, and am quite satisified with it. It's relatively cheap for a proprietary battery, it seems to last pretty well, and it charges in under 2 hours. The battery comes with a snug-fitting plastic cap to protect the terminals and it fits nicely into my close-fitting Nikon 3700 carrying case. 90% of readers found this review helpful. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Genuine Nikon, so no camera-warranty conflict. No risk of some slightly cheaper, off-brand battery damaging expensive camera. Tiny, compact cell is size of a matchbox. Weakness: Proprietary, versus NiMH or Li-Ion AAs or AAAs. Two hours to charge. Coolpix 5200 discharges battery quickly. For a Nikon camera, stick with a Nikon battery, rather than risk potential power issues with your camera's electronics. I recommend buying AT LEAST TWO of these batteries (beyond the one included with your camera), given the high drain of cameras like the Coolpix 5200. For example, while charging one battery in your hotel room, you may take the other two batteries with you when you go outdoors to take pictures; for a few hours, you should be without worry that your camera will go dead. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Nikon brand, good battery life, small, can be replaced by a Duracell CP-1 if you're in a pinch. Weakness: None. Hey, what can I say! It's a battery, and rechargeable at that. This little baby is compact and provides good battery life for the Nikon 3700 camera. If you're in a pinch and can't charge then you can use a Duracell CP-1 as a replacement (although I'm not sure of the availability of the CP-1). I use this as a backup to the original battery than came with my Nikon 3700, and it is identical. There are no worries about any incompatibilities. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Nikon brand. Small size. Comes with contact protection. Fast charging takes about 2-hours for a full charge, faster than most. Long-lasting charge. Priced very reasonable for a lithium-ion battery. Weakness: NONE noticed. Exact fit for CoolPix 3700. For the very competitive price, I recommend going with this official Nikon brand. Always pays to have a spare. Small size should fit most camera cases. Weakness: None I shyed away from less expensive noname replacement batteries opting for Nikon quality and I'm glad that I did. Actually, I use the battery as a backup to the one that came with my Coolplex 5200. I urge anyone who travels with a digital camera to invest in a spare battery and keep it fully charged and in the same bag as their Camera. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: Nikon original battery Weakness: High cost and hard to find I bought a battery on Ebay that was reported to be a "Real" Nikon EN-EL5. Got the battery at a very good price, too good. When I got the battery, it looked like the real thing, but when I compared the battery and the documentation to the Nikon battery I got with my Coolpix 5200 I could see that it was a chinese copy and not a real NIKON battery. Be very careful, if the price is too good then it is most likely not a real NIKON battery. The true Nikon battery holds a charge longer and recharges faster then the chinese fake. Overall the real NIKON EN-EL5 is a great battery, small, light and lasts through a lot of picture taking. Weakness: Great because fast & accurate, but 2 tiny batteries were in a big, paper-stuffed box that would hold hundreds of these; such a waste of natural resources. Although I haven't yet tried out the battery I ordered, and I haven't yet seen the charge on my credit card bill, I am very impressed by the speedy delivery, at no extra cost. Weakness: None I own a Nikon Coolpix 3700 digital camera and I wanted to have a second battery handy in case the one that came with the camera run out of fuel while I was taking pictures. I chose the original Nikon EN-EL5 battery (exactly the same one my camera came with) and I am really happy with it. Slightly more expensive than similar generic products, but the peace of mind this product provides (no compatibility issues, no voided warranty) is priceless. Highly recommended! Weakness: Product was out of stock so had to wait more then a week before item was shipped. Overall, I'm very happy with this transaction and would do business again with this vendor. I wanted to go with an original OEM battery and that is what I recevied. You have to be careful as many vendors play games with the wording and you end up getting a non-OEM battery. Weakness: Costs slightly more than the knock-offs, however it is propably of higher quality (as is usually the case with OEM parts) and worth the extra $5-10. If you liked the battery that came with your camera you'll like this one. If you didn't like the battery that came with your camera, you won't like this one. Nikon EN-EL5 Lithium ion Battery for Digital CamerasStrengths: OEM original battery recommended by camera manufacturer Weakness: capacity could be higher (have seen generic batteries with a capacity of 1400 mAh), battery discharges quickly when connected to PC to download pics (probably a camera and not a battery issue). If you own a coolpix 3700 this product is a must have. If you run out of juice while taking pictures there is no need to run home and recharge the battery. Nikon recommended the Nikon battery (of course). I took their recommendation as it is not worth the risk of damaging the camera to save a few dollars for an off brand battery. The camera can use a Duracell CP1 disposable but I have not found any available locally or on the web. It is easier to have a spare EL5 then try to find a CP1. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Strengths: This battery works great. I 'd buy it again for sure. It charged in less than 2 hours, it's compact and it's a nikon.
Weakness: none that I can determine
Very reasonably priced. I was surprised that a rechargeable, lithium-ion battery would be priced so low. I feel confident I will get a long life from a nikon product.
