2GB Data Traveler

Strengths: Kingston name and quality

Weakness: None

I have tried travel drives from just about every company and this drive ranks up there as one of the best. Great amount of capacity, fast transfers and terrific size. Highly recommend.

Kingston 2GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Strengths: handy, light weight, good build quality, works Vista Readyboost

Weakness: slow transfer, no lock, no password protection, does not work in 98

good for home, office, and not for fast transfers. It takes lots of time... it worked for Vista Ready Boost...fast detection and also fast install in XP and vista..

great

Strengths: kingston

Weakness: none

The Kingston DataTraveler is a small, well designed 2 Gb flash drive with a USB 2.0 interface. An LED status light indicates when the drive is being accessed. It does not come with a lanyard, but it does have a small string loop that you can use to attach it to a lanyard, key chain, etc. The end cap is not attached, but it is standard size and easily replaced, if you lose it. It works in my regular USB ports, but not in the keyboard USB port on my Mac. It requires more power than that port can supply.

Kingston

It saves lots of data and fits well just about anywhere for 2gb storage, the transfer speed is acceptable when copying large files. The cap actually stays on this very well, however, it is not U3.

Great USB drive from Kingston

Strengths: Large capacity, fast speed, brand name

Weakness: Not strongly built

I have bought many kingston products. This usb drive is quite a good one from kingston. It is easy to use and carry on. The price is reasonable, and the product quality is great. With the size of 2GB, I am quite happy that I can copy many files each time. The speed is fast to me. However, I am not a fan of green colors. It would be better if other colors products are provided.

This is a good product. Considering the price and performance, I highly suggest it.

kingston 2GB data traveller

Strengths: Compact , 2 GB capacity

Weakness: Slow transfer rates, No software included by kingston to protect the data

I got this pen drive to replace my PNY 512 MB drive. Its small and nice. You can keep in your pocket and you can carry huge data upto 2 GB. So don't need to delete old stuff because of the size.
I find the transfer rates are slower compare to sandisk drives. Also it doesn't come with preinstalled software which protects the data in the drive.

Cheap and awesome USB stick

Strengths: Kingston brand, fast, cheap after rebate

Weakness: Need more power than other USB sticks

I got this stick after rebate for like $15 and have been very happy with it. The drive is very fast with large files writing of 4-5 MB/s and reading speed of more than 10 MB/s. The only problem I have is that my PC's front USB ports are not powerful enough to make it work so I have to stick it to the hind USB ports of my PC.

Kingston 2GB Data Traveler USB flash drive

Strengths: Sturdy built, pretty nice looking, large capacity

Weakness: Relatively slow, large physical size

I have this USB stick for about a month and it has been pretty reliable and working well. The transfer speed is kind of slow (1.5 MB/s) compared to other brands such as Sandisk (2-3 MB/s) or Lexar (3-4 MB/s). Also, physically, this stick is much larger than the Sandisk mini USB stick. Other than that, it is a good deal after rebate.

Amazing USB drive

Strengths: Very compact, Very fast

Weakness: Sooo small that I fear losing it :)

This is an amazing USB drive. One of the smallest I have seen. The first thing I tried was copy a 800MB file to it, and this finished in just a 2-3 minutes (my previous USB drive took 10+ minutes for the same file).

And it is one of the smallest drives and easily fits in any pocket and you won't even feel the weight. In fact it is so small & light, that I sometimes fear that I will drop it somewhere and not feel it.

All in all, one of the best USB drives from a very reliable manufacturer. Highly recommended!!

Review for Kingston 2GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash...

Strengths: 1. Transfer speed is fast; 2. good price/memory ratio 3. do not need to install drive software

Weakness: A little bit large.

I have used this 2GB pen drive for one week. It is a good product. I bought it as a decent price and it has 2GB volume, so it has a good price/memory ratio for me. This flash drive is USB 2.0, and the transfer speed is fast. You do not need to install any drive software except you use windows 98, just plug it in and the computer will find it in a very short time. If you are crazy about a very small pen drive, this one is a little bit large, but I do not think it is a big deal.

Great USB Flash Drive

Strengths: small; reliable.

Weakness: none so far

This usb driver is very nice. It works great under linux. The timing cached reads reached 1748.15 MB/sec and the timing buffered disk reads reached 10.25 MB/sec. That means it's reading speed outperforms most of the other band (Iomega, Transcend, Fuji, Sandisk,PNY...etc). For writing speed, it takes around 4 minutes to copy a 400MB file, which is around 1.65MB/s. I will say it is not bad for writing performance( 4 out of 5 among all the usb drive band). In a nutshell, i am pretty satisfied with this usb drive.

Packs a big punch in a small package

Strengths: Quick, Fast, easy to use

Weakness: Included lanyard was a bit too fragile,

The 2GB DataTraveler is a great USB Flash drive everybody should have. It's small, easy to use and doesn't have U3 (U3 is blatantly annoying!) I was also surprised when I received my DataTraveler to find that it came with 25 free 4x6 prints from Shutterfly! When in use, the drive performs speedily, on par with that of my Sandisk Micro USB Flash drive. However, my only gripe is that it does not include any other accessories and the lanyard supplied is a tad to fragile. Otherwise, it's a great addition everybody should have in their keychain!

Kingston 2GB usb drive

Strengths: kingston brand, fast speed

Weakness: none

This is a great product for the price. It has 2GB of storage space, and writes very fast, compared to other USB flash drives I used, like Sandisk Cruzer and PNY. The build is sturdy, and cap fits onto the end when in use, so won't lose it. Highly Recommend.

Good Flash Drive

Strengths: Fast, reliable

Weakness: not as fast as a hard drive

I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and appearance of this flash drive. I thought it would be very "plasticky" and fragile, and pictures make it look really big and not all that nice-looking . In fact, the drive is very compact and sturdy. The white plastic goes very well with my notebook, and the green parts are actually a nice lime-green, not an olivey hue as in the pictures. The read performance is pretty good, and while the write performance is mediocre, it's more than acceptable for the price. As a nice bonus, the cap clips on to the end of the drive.

Not as fast as advertised

Strengths: Inexpensive after mail in rebate

Weakness: Moderately slow transfer speed

I purchased this USB Flash Drive from Buy.com which offered a Kingston Mail In Rebate. I expected to get transfer speeds approaching 6mb/s based upon the advertised specifications, however, the average write speed seems to be about 2mb/s.

Great USB flash Drive

Strengths: very faster, write speed larger than 4MB/s

Weakness: need to reboot the PC after first plug in

This is the fastest USB drive I have tried before,
I compared the write speed with Lexar, PNY,
the Kingston is the winner, So I keep this drive
and sell other drivers at Ebay.

the only weakness I want to mention is that when
I first plugged it into my computer, I was asked to
reboot the computer.

So if you are in the market for a portable USB storage drive, I highly recommend this one.

2GB of storage at your fingertips.

Strengths: Big capacity, fast, relatively cheap, good brand, small, light, works everywhere.

Weakness: Lime green color, constant blinking light.

I have a 1gb Lexar Jumpdrive which i've used for over a year. Its served me well but these days, i feel that I need more space. In fact, I was looking for a 4gb but this will do for now. So far this drive has performed admirably. It is just as fast as my jumpdrive, almost identical in size and weight, and actually I paid less for this.

Only things i don't like so far is the lime-green color and the constant blinking of the led(lime green) when it is being used. It is 2-3x brighter than the jumpdrive and can be quite distracting.

I also transfer and watch stuff via my PS2 so i was very happy that my PS2 detects it fine. Worked like a charm.

2GB DataTraveler USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Strengths: THis drive has high storage and fast write speed.

Weakness: The color is ugly and not very sleek.

all in all, i like the drive and would of loved it if it came in a better color. The write speed is very fast and i can carry it around with my keys. Teh computer detects the drive automatically and i dont have to mess with it at all.

Solid product

Strengths: Kingston quality

Weakness: Neon color?

I also have an old 256MB Kingston flash drive that still works great. Expect good reliability from this product. The only thing I don't like about the drive is the color -- I'm not sure if you can get it on other colors or not. That's a very minor issue though.

The Kingston DataTraveler Flash Drive is well...

Strengths: 2Gb capacity in small well designed package, USB 2.0 support, status LED,

Weakness: does not come with a lanyard, the cap is not connected to the case.
