Good looking hubStrengths: Compact, aesthetics, ports on front as well as back, 7 ports, powered, protection from over-current Weakness: Light weight causes cables to pull it off the base I bought two of these little hubs. The first thing that I noticed is how small they are. The photos really give you no sense of scale. That maybe a good thing. But they are light weight, and the cables attached to their rear ports cause them to tilt helplessly back, and it would be nice to have them seat a little better on my desk. Maybe some double stick tape would help. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

This Tiny Hub WorksStrengths: Works well with every USB device I have Weakness: None This little inexpensive USB hub works very well. I am using it with a hard drive, scanner, webcam, mp3 player, etc. Everything works perfectly. The speed is as good as if the devices were plugged directly into the computer USB. The small size is a pleasure on my cramped desktop. Highly recommended. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Compact size and fineStrengths: * Small and compact size * Option to have to either in vertical or horizontal position * UBS ports on front and back * Optional power-plug Weakness: * Doesn't stand upright without the base * Unclear of how to combine several UBS ports of the same kind This UBS port is a small and compact in size. I thought from seeing the picture that the device would be larger. I also like the option of having it either positioned upright or horizontal, i.e. lying it down on the side. This may be helpful for people who either have abundant or little space on their desk. The control-light is also helpful in letting me know if the device is working. I also like the layout that I have some ports available on the front and not all of the at the back. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A great little powered hubStrengths: Compact size, port layout, small power supply Weakness: Lightweight base, no device detection lights. After messing with powered hubs from Belkin (1 worked, 3 didn't) and Kensington (1 worked, 2 failed), I decided to try the U222-007-R 7 port hub from Tripp Lite for use with my in-law's G4 Mac Mini. Its size, color and 7 ports, make it a perfect fit with their computer. Due to the limited number of ports on the Mac Mini, needed a 7-port hub with one or two front access ports to handle all of their peripherals and the occasional need to connect a flash drive and card reader. This hub simultaneously handles 7 connected peripherals, including their power hungry laser printer, easily and reliably. While the base is rather light to keep the unit steady with 5 usb peripheral cables attached to the rear ports, a little cable management and tape easily solves this problem. Additionally, placing the unit on a small piece of non-slip mat assists in keeping the unit in place. Price versus value .... this usb hub is a winner. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

The USB hub to get
Strengths: It works; compact; good design
Weakness: none
I've been through so many USB hubs (including one that had good reviews, but did not work for me), and was beginning to wonder if USB was actually not meant to work well with hubs. Thankfully, this one works, does not get too warm, and is physically designed well. I appreciate that five of the ports are on one side and two are on the other, making the hub quite stable (i.e. it doesn't topple over).
It is slightly more expensive than the cheaper USB hubs out there, but this is the one to get.
