Artic Freezer 7 Pro

Strengths: Quiet keeps my Intel D805 cool. idle 38C @ 3.0g overclock

Weakness: Might have more heat dissapation if fins were copper

Overclock to 3.0 currently using components from wife's old computer
Bought new motherboard MB ASROCK 775Dual-VSTA PT880PRO 775 CPU INTEL D805 2.66G and Freezer 7 pro from newegg for less than 200.00 plus shipping pretty good deal.

Freezer 7 Pro CPU Heatsink

Strengths: Quiet, improvement over stock heat sink, price

Weakness: Installation can be difficult

This hsf is a cost effective way to improve air cooling for overclocked or dual core cpu's. The copper surface of the heat sink is rough and I improved the performance by lapping before mounting. The rubber mounted fan is very quiet and cannot be heard over the case fans. For its price this is a very effective hsf for moderate overclocking. It is larger than the stock hsf but is not as tall as other models. The fan can be rotated to blow toward the back exhaust fan.

For the price you can't beat it.

Strengths: Price, keeps the CPU cool while overclocking, much better then stock heatsink, quiet, and a six year warranty to boot.

Weakness: Mainly its size, might have trouble fitting on certain motherboards.

Great air cooler for my Core 2 Duo E6600, it keeps my processor chilly at around 35C under load. Compared with other coolers its much cheaper too. Always been a fan of Arctic Cooling products and its my second one already. The previous one in my other build is about two years old is still running strong; highly recommended.

Tip: Get some Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste to go along with it!

Freezer 7 Pro CPU

Strengths: Quiet, improvement over stock heat sink, price

Weakness: Keeps breaking the Heatsink retaining clips on my M2N-SLI, on 4th set now.

A little noisy, even over the 4 case fans i have, temp difference from last CPU fan wasn't that great. Needs large case to handle stand-off from CPU.

Reduced my P4 LGA775 CPU temp 20 degrees C

Strengths: Quiet, light-weight (compared to other after-market heatsinks), great airflow. Easy-to-install.

Weakness: None, so far.

CPU temp dropped from 61 degrees C to 41 degrees C in normal operations. Normal operations include video editing and DVD recording, office-type applications, and Flight Simulator 9. Installed (following the directions) with Arctic Silver 5 paste. Air flow is from front-to-back (aligned with my case airflow), and it just happens to align with the rear exhaust fan on my Antec P160 case. How serendipitous!

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Heatsink

Strengths: Every efficient cooling and priced right!

Weakness: None

Bought this unit based on reviews on this site and others. I a happy I did. The installation was very easy. No issues in my Antec case. The fan is quiet and cools the CPU very well. This is a must for those who overclock!

Lightweight beuty

Strengths: Price. Lightweight. Nice looking (if you're into judging things by looks alone). Quiet on low setting. Comes with MX-1 paste pre-applied, so no messing with AS5.

Weakness: None for what I paid for it.

There is one etailer online that regularly sells these for less than thirty bucks shipped. Can be tricky to install, but read the instructions carefully. Size makes it a comfortable fit on most major motherboards, although check this out before buying one! :)

Excellent cooling and extremely quiet!

Strengths: keeps the cpu very cool

Weakness: Kinda big

I'm using this with my core 2 duo system overclocked, and this cooler is keeping my cpu at great temps. Works much better than stock coolers, and installation was a breeze.

Great Cooler, But BIG

Strengths: Cools wonderfully.

Weakness: Very Large...need a case that will fit it

This was coupled with Arctic's Ceramique thermal paste, and it kept my E6400 cool around 25-C. Great OC'ing potential. I would certainly recommend this, but it may not fit in all cases, especially microATX cases (worked in my ULTRA wizard just fine).

Freezer 7 Pro CPU

Strengths: Easy to install quiet, lightweight

Weakness: none

this a very good heatsink. I oced my E6600 to 3.2GHz and it's running 28 degrees Celsius on idle and around 45 at full load. I did lap the heatsink a bit and used arctic silver 5. However one of my case fans is blowing directly into the freezer and creating a turbo like effect and therefore this caused it to keep the temperature a few degrees lower.

Great CPU cooler

Strengths: It keeps the temperature at 38 c on my computer.

Weakness: none

It is very quite and keeps temp at a constant 38 degrees c. The only problem I found was that it big and my case has a side vent that I had to remove to allow me to replace the side cover.

Super cooler and quiet also

Strengths: Very good cooling Very quiet

Weakness: a little big if your case is small

Excellent cooler than push my e6400 to 3.5ghz w/o any problems at all. Very quiet also. Much better than the Zalman one that I had. Installation was very easy and straight forward.

Works as advertised

Strengths: Keeps my overclocked CPU from going above 60c on full load Easy to install

Weakness: None

After I overclocked my E4300 to 3Ghz and ran stress tests on it, my temps were quickly reaching 75c and probably more if I hadn't stopped them. After installing the Freezer Pro 7, my temps are barely reaching 60c on full loads. Works for me.

Nice...

Strengths: Keeps CPU cool for overclocking

Weakness: Huge size

This is one great product. It does a very good job at keeping my PCs processor temperature very low even when overclocking. I'd highly recommend it to anybody who is thinking of building a new desktop with overclocking in mind. I am still very wary of water cooling...something about putting water next to $2000 in parts..so this is a great alternative.

Arctic Cooler is very cool

Strengths: Lower core temps both resting and at full load

Weakness: A little hard to install and very tall

With the stock heat sink my Core2Duo e4300 temps were in the 40-60 degree range (C). Installed the Arctic Cooler with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste - resting temps are 20 degrees C now and under full load it runs about 50. Have not overclocked yet, but this cooler seems to bring the temps down nicely.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CUP Heatsink

Strengths: Lightweight, easy to mount, quiet.

Weakness: Does not re-mount well - clips seem to be one time use.

I have had a hard time trying to find a phone # for the company Arctic Cooling to try to order replacement clips for this product. I have never had a problem with a fan having what seems to be "one time use" clips for mounting. Strange!

Freezer 7 Pro Heatsink Keeps my E4300 Cool

Strengths: Easy to install Comes with thermal paste preapplied, although I took it off and put on some Arctic silver. Light, so doesn't require a backplate can be installed on a motherboard while in case.

Weakness: I wish the fan was more powerful, it really doesn't blow as much air as it could, on the plus side it is really quiet.

This HSF worked great, keeps my Conroe at 3Ghz cool, idle at 30, when processing stays under 50 Celcius, always.

This is a fantastic HSF, can be found at many retailers for under $30.

Does what its supposed to

Strengths: Keeps my Pent D 820 oc to 3.1ghz at 45C

Weakness: Not a big change from stock cooler

Installation was very straight forward and took very little time. The heat sink is bigger than the stock Intel cooler, but did not cause any problems. I only experienced slightly cooler temps, but I have yet to break in the Arctic Silver 5 that I used instead of the thermal pad provided with the heat sink.

Great at cooling and quiet

Strengths: Reasonably quiet Cools well Great value for the price

Weakness: Really big--but not a problem if you have plenty of room in the case

This is a perfect CPU fan and heatsink for those who aren't getting enough with the stock fan but don't want to spend a lot of money. I am using it with a Pentium D805 which has quite a reputation for running hot and it is keeping it really cool.
I haven't tried overclocking with it yet, but plan to, and I am quite confident that it will keep my processor cool even then.
This is the best value for the money I have seen, just get it.

Works very good and quiet

Strengths: Works wonderfully and priced right. Excellent technology for a budget-priced CPU fan.

Weakness: None that I've seen, but some case configurations might put this very close to the power supply or 3.5" optical drives.

At slow speed it is very quiet. Now includes a PWM fan circuit so the speed is variable as determined by the motherboard or BIOS. Large fin and heat pipe structure keep things cool.

It is a pretty big unit, but not as wide as the top-of-the-line Zalman units. It fit perfectly fine in my Ultra Wizard steel case.

Incredible bargain for very good performance

Strengths: Much better than stock cooling with minimal noise

Weakness: Some people may have trouble with enough room in their case

This cooler is so much better than the stock Intel cooler on the Core 2 CPU's.
There are a lot of reviews available on Hardware sights which prove this out. This baby comes with Arctic paste already applied, how sweet is it not having to try to apply it yourself and wondering if you got it right! There are better coolers, but why pay $50+ unless you want to go for the highest OC. This will serve you well for light to moderate over clocking. This can be found for under $30 delivered, just buy it!

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Heatsink is amzaing

Strengths: Great cooling dropped my rig about 10 degrees C. USE ARTIC SILVER. Great overall product a little big but then again the bigger the better ... solid design

Weakness: None as of yet

One of the best CPU coolers on the market.... I love it because for the price you cant really get anything in this category. Optimal size because although I would love to have the Zalman 7700 it interferes with my Northbridge on my 965 mobo and plus the Zalman although amazing is really heavy and m,uch harder to setup.

What's better for less than twice the price?

Strengths: This dropped the temps on my Conroe 6300 by 15 degrees even at stock clocking, and right now it's doing 450fsb for 3.15ghz. Way better than the stock heatsink. Fan is quiet. Easy install.

Weakness: Not for super-hardcore overclockers, but then again, they require much more expensive heatsinks and much louder fans anyway.

Far better than anything else in its price range and on par with things costing up to double. Air blowing across the mb is a good thing since it then goes out the back of the case. A lot of people seem to dismiss this heatsink simply because it's not overpriced like other ones are. In reviews it may lag behind by a degree or two, but the fan is generally much quieter. If you want more cooling, put a huge (and thus loud) fan on it like "better" heatsinks have. Most of the "cools the best" heatsinks have fans that sound like vacuum cleaners. Also, the included thermal paste is better than Arctic Silver. I now refer you back to the title of my review.

Inexpensive, does its job.

Strengths: Price, works decently well.

Weakness: Still a little big, plus not as quiet as others.

Mounting is easy because of the standard 775 pin mounting method which is the same as the Intel stock cooler.

Keeps temps cool which is what it was designed to do, but isn't as fancy as other solutions.

Weird fan configuration which blows back into the case exhaust fan. I think it's an interesting solution, and since I don't overclock like crazy, I think it works well.

Good CPU Cooler, but....

Strengths: Relatively quiet operation, good performance. Low price.

Weakness: Weight is a little high at 520g exceeding max recomendation of 450g. Blows across motherboard instead of down - does not cool northbridge or other MB components. Returned it and got something better.

OK if you want an improvement over stock cooler, but there are better choices that do not have the weaknesses. Check out the Thermalright XP-90 - for just slightly more if you shop right, but you need to pick a separate fan for it. IMHO that's actually a plus since you can pick a very quiet fan if you're not planning to overclock, or a high cfm (louder) fan if your're in a hot environment or planning to push your processor. Go to silentpcreview.com for their thoughts.
