Logitech G11 keyboardStrengths: programmable keys, keyboard lights up Weakness: none, except a bit expensive for a keyboard It was hard for me to spend over $60 on a keyboard, but I needed this. I developed repetitive motion injuries from my previous keyboard. The programmable keys on this one allow me to avoid the hand movements that caused me pain. I work at night in low light, so the backlight is wonderful. The volume control works great. The media keys feel a little cheap, but you don't use them much, so it is not a problem. The regular keys have a great feel, but it is taking me a little while to get used to them after 9 years on a different keyboard. (my fault, not the keyboard.) I am disappointed that there is no power/sleep/hibernate button, but I was able to program that into one of the G keys. I wanted to NOT use the Logitech software to program the G keys because I already have a keyboard programming tool I prefer (AutoHotkeys), but that was not possible. The G keys do not generate any keycodes that a 3rd party program can intercept. Again, not a big problem, just an annoyance. Overall, this is a great product that I am glad I bought. Plain keyboards are much cheaper, but I did not find any other keyboards with programmable keys and backlight for a better price than this. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a specialty keyboard with any of the features this has. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sweet keyboard!Strengths: Best Keyboard EVER. Absolutely the nicest peripheral of all time. Has nice lighting, it's got loads of features, and 54 macro combinations! Weakness: none as of yet Best Keyboard EVER. Absolutely the nicest peripheral of all time. Has nice lighting, it's got loads of features, and 54 macro combinations! This is no doubt a sick keyboard, but its just to close in price to its big bro... go for the G15! 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Nice, but LONGStrengths: Nice backlit keys, nice programmable buttons, seems weel built, has usb ports on keyboard Weakness: Very wide keyboard from right to left with the extra keypad. It fits on my keyboard tray, but I have to keep the mouse in front of it, not next to it like I like. Nice, well built, backlit keyboard. Fine for gaming. However, it is really long. It fits in my keyboard tray, but I have to keep the mouse in front of it insead of next to it like I like. Also, the programmable keys allow you to program keyboard keys, not mouse clicks. Given that I was hoping to program functions that included my primary fire button, it was a little disapointing and that limitation renders it inferior to a joystick programmable button. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Awesome KeyboardStrengths: Excellent back lighting Quality, solid keyboard Works great! Weakness: Tricky to set Windows macros Sometimes difficult to remember macros I've been using this keyboard for several weeks now and I absolutely love it. It's solidly built to Logitech standards, response times are amazing, and macros are easily set for games. I went with this keyboard over the G11 because I didn't need the LCD screen and it would be obscured by my desk ledge. I am 100% satisfied with this board and would purchase it again in a heartbeat over anything else. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great for Programming too!Strengths: Lots! In particular, the macros are portable and editable. Weakness: USB ports are 1.1; too wide in certain instances As a programmer, I like to keep my environment the same as much as possible. I hate having to accomplish the same task via separate key strokes in different programs, editors, or IDEs. The G11 has 18 configurable keys that can be set to program or hyperlink shortcuts, macros, a block of text, etc. Positioned above those are additional buttons (M1, M2, M3) that essentially triple the 18 keys to 54 custom settings. G11 gamerStrengths: Backlit keys, fullsize layout of the keyboard rather than compact. Works with Vista. Weakness: The volume control button is smooth, if it had a texture to it, or ridges, it would be easier to use. The backlit keys are great, and can be turned off. The keys have a nice soft touch to them, just the right amount of spring action. There is a switch for gaming mode so you can turn off the windows keys. I would buy this again Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great keyboard!Strengths: programmable keys Weakness: none! This keyboard is great. It has programmable keys, a must have for a gamer! It doesn't have the LCD screen that the G15 has, which for me is a good thing. There is nothing that small LCD screen can tell me that my monitor can't. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great keyboard !Strengths: Backlit keys, macro's, quality, cool design, quiet keystrokes Weakness: USB ports are NOT 2.0, some keys aren't completely lit, size could pose problems for some Overall I'm very happy with this keyboard, the design is very cool and the keys feel great. The only drawback is that multiple-character keys or keys with more text aren't completely lit, making it look a little bit unfinished. But, apart from the USB ports, that is the only thing dragging down the quality of an otherwise great product a bit. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great Gaming KeyboardStrengths: Stable base; backlight keys; 54 macro buttons; quality construction; game profiler Weakness: USB ports are NOT 2.0 I got this keyboard over the weekend and instantly put it to the test playing a long nighttime session of BF2. It instantly became clear to me and my online squad mates that the keyboard does make a difference. My "average" number of kills were up and the times I "died" were down. I attribute this to the "soft feel" keys and what seemed like a quicker response to my multiple keystrokes. The backlight keys helped me to find the right key at the right time. G11 Gaming Keyboard with 2-port USB HUBStrengths: This keyboard is very nice for typing. The keys are much better than any stock keyboard you might buy. The lighted keyboard is nice for those times late at night. Weakness: The only drawback is the keyboard is probably 4 inches longer than a standard keyboard. That can be a problem with some keyboard holders. Very nice keyboard. The setting to disable the windows key found between the control and alt key is great for gaming. The programing of the G-keys is rather simple and there are some games already compatible with the keyboard. For those game not recognized by the software, setting up the micro keys is easy. My rating is very good. Save money and buy this over the G15 keyboard. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

G11 Gaming Keyboard with 2-Port USB Hub.Strengths: Love the backlit keys.....they show up great even in the dark. Lots of programmable key functions Weakness: Longest keyboard that I've ever owned but fits on my tray fine. Keys are slightly smaller than my last Logitech board. Wish I'd seen this before I bought the last keyboard. Haven't set up the keys for gaming yet but looks to be simple. Only been using for 4 days. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Perfect for dim lit rooms (Gamers)
Strengths: Individual key backlighting, quiet key strokes. 2 USB ports, $49 on sale at Fry's ($59 - $10 rebate)
Weakness: It's big (21.5" wide). Connects to PC via USB only. Two integrated USB ports are NOT 2.0
I bought the G11 keyboard for one reason, the backlit keys. I needed to be able to see the keys in a dimly lit room during gaming. This keyboard did not dissapoint me. Not only is every single key on the keyboard nicely backlit, but it looks cool too. The backlighting is a nice deep blue color and you can set it to off, dim, or bright. Bright is best.
The multimedia controls (also backlit) work as advertised. I have not yet used any of the customizable macro keys, but the software interface looks pretty straightforward.
It has two USB 1.1 ports on the back. USB 2.0 would have been much nicer. My keyboard is on a slide out tray so I won't be using the USB ports anyway.
That brings me to my next issue...the G11 keyboard is big. It's 21.5" wide and 10" deep (3 inches wider than the MS Natural keyboard that it replaced). I have very little room left on my slide out tray for mouse movement.
The G11 plugs into the PC via USB only. I was worried that I would not be able to boot into my BIOS setup screen using the keyboard. I wasn't sure if the USB ports on my PC would come alive before WindowsXP started, but I am happy to say that they do and the keyboard works just great during bootup. Booting into the BIOS setup is not a problem.
The only difference between the G11 and the G15 is the small LCD screen that you get on the G15. I just didn't think that I would ever have much use for the LCD screen, so why spend the extra $30.
I just wanted a keyboard with good backlighting; everything else was icing on the cake.
If you've got the space for it, I highly recommend this beauty. It looks and feels great and its a Logitech; I love their stuff. Gamers, you won't be disappointed.
