Antec TP3650 650W Power Supply

Strengths: triple +12v,quiet,SLI support,120mm fan

Weakness: non so far

Just hooked it up to my Antec 900 and ASUS P5B. Very stable,
has a new 8 PIN 12V connector, huge 120mm fan.Spent some
time to organize wires I don't need.I wish it has modular
ones.Fan only power connectors help since the case has
two front fans. Very good power supply for the price.

one of the best mid range psu's gets even better

Strengths: powerful 650w, triple 12v rails, very accurate voltage rails along with antec's great quality

Weakness: does not come in 1000w version or quad 12v rail version like pc power & cooling, enermax or thermaltake.

as great as the antec 550tp-II is, the antec 650 trio is
even better with an extra 100w and an extra 12v rail
which will come in handy for duel cpu systems along with
more headroom and better stability. however when it comes
to quad cpu systems, the antec 650 trio will be inadequate
and antec needs to come out with a antec 1000 quad version
as well in order to keep up with the competing 3 psu's
listed above.

Antec TruePower Trio 650W ATX12V & EPS12V Power...

Strengths: Power, Quality, Efficiency

Weakness: No modular cables which made it a pain to fit in my midtower case... but for the price I got it for, I can't complain

Started upgrading my old computer with a bunch of peripherals and realized that the stock 250W PSU wasn't going to cut it. I didn't want to spend another $100 on upgrades but didn't want a cheap POS. All I really needed was 400W, but when I went to Frys, the Trio 650 was on sale for $99 plus a $50 rebate. I couldn't pass that deal up so I got it. The 650W is definitely overkill for what I do, but the PSU is pretty sweet.

Good Power Supply..

Strengths: Good power, silent

Weakness: n/a

This is a great power supply for the money, and it runs quietly which is what I like. The three twelve watt rails is great. Some say they want 4 quad, but 3 is fine for my purposes. Was easy to set-up. I bought the 650watt version, and I highly recommend it.

Just enough amps

Strengths: Handles my power hungy system well

Weakness: Wish it had a few more amps per rail.

Their specs here don't tell you but each 12v rail has 19amps. For my x1950pro 512 video card it requires a 12v rail w/ 19amps and for crossfire it then needs 38amps total and this power supply can do that since the 2nd rail is supplying 12v @ 19amps as well. I don't think this PSU will be with me when I upgrade next year to some new dual DX10 cards since I'm sure their amp requirements will be more than the x1950pro's... but we will see.

Works great!

Strengths: Powerful with plenty of connectors

Weakness: Wish it was modular....

Bought this supply for a great price and haven't been disappointed. wish I had read the manual before using the 'fan-only' connectors as their output is based on need as determined by the PSU. took me a while to figure out why my fans were turning so slow. I was able to manage the wires decently in my Antec nine hundred case, have OCed my E6600 to 3.8 Ghz on air and this product hasn't flinched. We shall see when I complete the build with a power-hungry GPU. I have faith this PSU can handle it...

Super Quiet Power Supply

Strengths: Quiet, 85% efficiency, and 5 yr warrranty.

Weakness: No modular cables, no quad rails, only four sata plugs and if only it came in higher wattage.

Really supper quiet. Can't hear the fan at all. Wished I got this earlier. I guess Antec finally heard enough complaints regarding the cabling because mine came with all of the cables sheathed. Saved me a lot of trouble!

Antec True Power Trio TP3-650

Strengths: Antec brand name, 5 year warranty, accurate voltages

Weakness: OEM - Generic Grey Case, NOT a True 3 rail power supply, lack of sheathing over all cables (24 pin cable only)

Good, solid power supply, Sea Sonic OEM. Found an on-line review of this power supply and when the reviewer opened the power supply he found that there is 1, not 3 12V rails. Other then that this power supply has more then enough power for overclocking. Wanted to put the Trio in a windowed case but can't because of the battleship grey paint job.

Runs Great

Strengths: Nice and quiet. Plenty of power and cables.

Weakness: One more set of serial drive plugs would be nice. A lot of leftover cables in my setup. Modular would have been nice.

Running SEVEN 250GB Seagate SATA2 HDs, Athlon 64 3700+, 4GB memory, RAID card and a PCI Express video card along with a couple of DVD drives. Maybe they should provide one or two adaptors for old style drive power to serial drive power.

Best PSU I ever used!

Strengths: Nice power output, high quality built, good material, enough power support, good cable management.

Weakness: None.

I decided to pick this power supply unit for my new built mid-range gig. It well support all hardware. If you are using dual core, high end graphic card, 2 or more hard drives, you definitely need this psu. The cables are also clearly labeled and easy to manage. I would recommend it to anyone else.

Good, Stable Power Supply

Strengths: Lots of extra power and connectors where you really need it!

Weakness: None, so far

Very stable, quiet power supply. I have not had any issues with Antec TruePower PSUs. Lots of connectors for everything you could possibly need, no need to go to the store to get adapters. I am very, very satisfied with this product, and I would definitely get this again.

Antec TruePower Trio 650

Strengths: Power & Quality

Weakness: Peripheral cables should be sleeved.

The Antec TruePower Trio 650 is a excellent power supply
it is very quiet and efficient it has active PFC and is
SLI/Crossfire ready.
The Trio has solid rails and has enough wattage for
multiple graphics adapters and hard drives.
The Antec TruePower Trio 650 is priced very reasonable
for its performance level.

Great Power Supply for any system!

Strengths: strong, dual pcie power connectors for 8800 use and future R600 use. Triple 12v rails with 18a ratings giving you plenty of power for a lot of rigs.

Weakness: No converter cables to add another video card, which would require 4 pci-e connectors for an SLI setup

I bought this power supply on a whim as it was on sale for a little of $100 and I am extremely pleased with its performance. I run a rig with an 8800gtx, 2 raptors in raid, an E6300 @ 3ghz and 4GB of ram and this thing barely breaks a sweat. It never even gets warm!! I Love it.

TryePower Trio 650W

Strengths: Monster Power

Weakness: Price

I received this monster power supply unit in the mail. It will power any super system with a big fan on top to reduce noise. No problem so far. Wonder if heat will be a problem in the future

Good Stable Power Supply

Strengths: 650 Watts; Five-Year Warranty; SLI-Ready; Decent Value

Weakness: Lame RMA replacement; non-modular cables

I've had Antec supplies for years, and have had my share of problems. Their NeoHE series has never powered up in two different ASUS boards of mine (P5WDH & P5WD2). Their support was lame, claiming that they should work with the newer revisions (which mine was). I just returned it and got a TPII-480. That lasted for about 1-1/2 years on two different systems, then it failed out of the blue. I had to provide them sufficient proof that it failed (put it on a power supply tester), then waited a few days to get the RMA number. It took them almost a week after receiving it before they shipped out another one. They don't offer an advanced replacement plan, so my computer was down for over two weeks (and I was lucky, since shipping time was only 2-days). I ended up selling the replacement, and buying their new TruePower III series, plus getting an upgrade to 650 Watts.

So, with all that background, what do I think of it? It looks pretty much like the TruePower II series, except with a few more cables for SLI readyness. Still no modular cables, which shocks me for such a high-end supply! Its fairly quiet, with one large 120mm fan. It was easy to install in my Antec P180 case. I had no problems reaching the cables to the furthest part of my motherboard, which can be an issue with this case. I tested it before using it, and all voltages were within a few percent of spec. Very nice.

There certainly are better "quality" power-supplies out there, but for the price, this is a decent value, especially for 650 Watts. It does come with a 5-year warranty, which is important considering my history mentioned above. I'd recommend this to someone needing the watts, but not wanting to spend all the extra money.

Great build quality, nice and silent, automatic fan...

Strengths: Great build quality, nice and silent, automatic fan adjustments, and high power

Weakness: Could look nicer for case modders

This unit is really solid, has generous power, and is nicely quiet. The best part is the adjustable motherboard connectors so you can use it with just about any motherboard regardless of the pins. Although a nice PSU lookswise, it could be cooler looking for case modders. Still, it's a solid way of running your 800 hard drive system :)

Antec TP3650 650W

Strengths: More power than I'll probably ever need, great fan size,

Weakness: Price is a bit high in my opinion but you shouldn't skimp out on the power supply

I just got this power supply to go with my new Antec 900 Case and so far I haven't been having an issues whatsoever. Works great with my new GeForce 7300 GS video card as well. No complaints here. Highly recommended!

Quality control needs a little help...

Strengths: Makes UPS scream "overload"

Weakness: Smoke came out

As with any electronics product of consumer grade, sometimes you get a bad one like I did. This one was DOA, but luckily did not appear to have damaged my (brand spanking new) computer. Fooey on Gateway for their pitiful 300W supplies that necessitated the Antec to begin with. Swapped out supply, hooked up everything right, no shorts. This is an auto-switcher 115/230V supply I might add. Turn on PC for first time, UPS starts SCREAMING overload, PC sounds VERY strange, then CLICK tripped the breaker on the UPS. Recheck cables, try a second go, same effect, except this time, POOF! Cloud of smoke comes drifting out of PC, apparently from the TP3-650. Crossing fingers, swapped back old Gateway 300W supply. Despite being a bit underrated for the upgrade GeForce 7900 GS (fooey on Gateway for the 7300 LE stock, rubbish!) the 300W PSU works and I had not fried my PC. Of course I'm not willing to do further testing with a supply that has already had smoke come out on $$$$ worth of computer parts...

Understated but strong power supply...

Strengths: Strong and stable power supply. Doesn't seem to get very hot.

Weakness: Antec needs to make this with modular cables like on the NeoHE line.

Strong power supply for the money. Nice 5-year warranty just in case. Will deliver full rated power at 50C. Get your cable management skills honed because you will need them with this power supply. If you're looking for some bling for your windowed case look elsewhere.
