Midrange card for AGP slots

Strengths: Great quality video

Weakness: none

I had a FX 5200 AGP card and I installed Age of Empire 3. The video resolution was enough to load the game; however, the quality was poor, horrible colors and resolution. Then I was looking for a better video card without upgraded my motherboard because I donot have PCIE slots, just AGP. I bought this card and it was amazing. I was realy surprise to see AE3 in a new resolution and colors. My others games improved too. In addtion, it comes with DVI port and TVout cable. If you are not ready to upgraded your motherboard, this card id for you.

FORGET PNY !!

Strengths: Fast when it does work

Weakness: Warranty is a joke

Chip is good - but PNY warranty is a joke. Many problems with computer slow down and lock ups when using this card. Plain and simple they will look for any reason not to fix card even when its obviously in warranty. Read the fine print! This is the first video card I have been unhappy with.

Excelent Graphics Card

Strengths: Able to play the latest games and incredible graphics. Easy to install.

Weakness: So far none.

If you want to play all the latest games and you have a system which is up to the maximun specs that you can load in it. This is the card for you. MWave has it for a very good price.

PNY GeForce 7600GS 512mb Review

Strengths: Excellent graphics, 512mb of memory, can play Battlefield 2 on med-high settings with some lag

Weakness: Only 128-bit for a 512mb card, fan is a little small, cannot play videos

The drivers from the installation CD work better than the ones from nvidia.com or omegadrivers.net. Also, I cannot play videos with this card. Every time I try to play a video (.wmv, .mov, or .avi files), my computer would slow down to a crawl, almost as if it were frozen. I've searched the Nvidia forums, and a number of people also have this problem. Youtube and Video Google both work fine, though. Some say it's a problem with the power, some say it's drivers. Some also say it has to do with hardware acceleration, but I still can't find a definitive solution to this problem.

Time to upgrade

Strengths: 512MB, HDTV outputs

Weakness: Slight compatability issue with Crimson Skies.

Want to add new blood to old games? Install this performer and max out the resolution, you will not be dissappointed.

Aside from some of the text on Crimson Skies being garbled I have no complaints.

Good bang for the buck!

Wow My Games

Strengths: easy to install, improved graphics, easy install wizard disc

Weakness: may need to upgrade power supply

My games used to run a little sluggishly I always thought it was my processor until now...wow this really improved my systems performance and its Windows Vista ready. I did have to upgrade my power supply to 400watts but that was nothing ocmpared to the way hdtv, video and my games look now. This also needs its own power connector to work as it really ramps things up. The latest technolog from nvidia gives you the very best results supports directx9c, supports complex shaders, incredible cinema fx, big bonus includes adapters for dvi to vga, and s-video to component video supported by most hdtv's. I have mine hooked up to the hdtv for watching those online movie rentals and they never looked better. Highlhy recommended as agp slot is common in older machines and many new ones can be the biggest and easiest upgrade to any system supports agp 8x.

Good AGP card

Strengths: 512MB DDR2 memory AGP 8X Runs smoothly under Vista. Seems it is natively supported by Vista OK price

Weakness: Vista driver is not included in the package. Could be a power sucker Quick start guide is not for this card.

I got this one as an upgrade (I have one ATI 9200, and the video rates under Vista is only 1.0). My AMD based mother board can only support AGP, this card with 512M memory caught my attention. It is much cheaper than 7900 with 256MB memory.
I am running Vista (rc2) now, the label "Windows Vista Ready" gain some points.
Vista RC2 native support this card, and install the driver automatically (7.14.10.9677). And it bumps the video rates from 1.0 to 4.3. Seems it worth the money. Download the driver package from PNY, and install it without any problem. (7.15.10.9746).
The user manual always reference to 6600, believe someone in PNY has not done a good job.
Will install Vista Final on this machine, will post any further results later.

Vista makes the fan spin on high non-stop

Strengths: Can finally run my NASCAR sim with the graphic settings like I want. It is a whole new game to me! Disclaimer: My last comp/vid card was a pIII 600 with a GeForce II Pro (64mb)

Weakness: I purchased my Dell XPS 410 with this card installed. I was "forced" to buy Vista OS. My card fan spins on high from boot-up to shutdown. Many "workarounds" posted on the net, but no real solution.

I have no complaints about the performance, nor the card. I just wanted to inform those thinking of going to Vista. I did see on Nvidia forums that it "is being looked into".

Geforce 7600 GS AGP

Strengths: Runs queit - Great performance!!

Weakness: Might need a bigger fan?

This card works very well for anything. I've played GTA San-Andreas for about 6 hours strait and the temp got to about 65 degrees Celsius. I'm able to max the settings and get around 30-40 fps without the in game limiter on. This low frame rate is due to my crapy 1.7ghz p4 with sdram. I'm planning on getting a new mobo use this card with AMD Athlon64 X2 2.4ghz, ddr2@ 800mhz. Then I'll have 70 to 120 fps easily.
This thing is also great for overclocking. I'm able to oc the gpu to about 540mhz from the stock 400. The ram also is awesome on oc. Can get near 360mhz easily from the stock 270.

GeForce 7600 GS Video Card (512MB, AGP, DVI)

Strengths: Installed easily. Looks great! Will probably be the last AGP upgrade for us.

Weakness: None met yet.

This card was purchased to replace an AMD/ATI X1650 Pro AGP with 512 MB DDR2 that inexplicably passed away within a year of purchase. I've had success with both Nvidia and ATI in the past and the 1650 was an upgrade from a 9700 pro which served me well for quite some time, thus I was very disappointed when the 1650 died. Enter GeForce 7600 GS Video Card (512MB, AGP, DVI). It installed smoothly, both card and drivers, and has performed very well so far. Looks like I'm back with Nvidia - now and in the future.

Video card or paper weight?

Strengths: Lots of memory, supposed to have awesome graphics. Last high-end AGP card?

Weakness: I couldn't get this card to work with my machine to save my life.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this card. Who knows, maybe my card is defective, but I think I'll be sending it back to get a refund (rather than going through the ordeal of getting a replacement, etc...). I tried just about every suggestion I could find on the nVidia forums to get this card to work. If you visit their forums and search for "7600 GS" or "7600 GS AGP," you'll get an idea of the typical problems people seem to be having with this card. Most people seemed to be able to solve their issue, but I'm guessing maybe my system is just a little too old to run such a high level card (even though it seems to meet or exceed all the requirements).

If you have a newer computer, it might work just fine...but I wasted a lot more time than I ever wanted to and at best increased the time I could play a game until it crashes from about 10 seconds to 2 minutes. I gave it three stars only because I'm not sure if the problem is on my end or the card's end. Apparently when the card does work, it does a great job.
