The Fastest Slim Drive Alive

Strengths: * Fast! * Sleek! * Durable aluminum build!

Weakness: * I dunno ... lemme make something up ... lack of color options? Really can't think of any weaknesses for this product.

- FAST! I'd been looking for a sale on a true high-speed flash drive for quite awhile now. This is something I learned the hard / expensive way: just because people claim that the USB flash drive uses a "HIGH-SPEED USB 2.0" connection does NOT mean it is truly "high-speed"! You must find the actual speed rating. Most cheaper USB flash drives will have a read speed of about 8 MB/sec and a write speed: of 7 MB/sec. This is fine if you never work with huge volumes of graphics or photos. But if you are transferring 4 GB of stuff over in one go, it'll take you a WHILE. This drive is rated at up to 28MB/s (read), 15MB/s (write). Apparently the "dual channel" property of this drive has something to do with this. A transfer that usually took me up to 80 minutes (!!!) took 14 MINUTES. I was very happy.

- SLEEK! A lot of drives out there come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Well, I have several USB ports that are adjacent to one another. I hate it when one USB device is so fat or wide that it blocks off its neighbor. Sure, this drive comes with a USB extension cord to get around this situation, but I don't want to have to bring another cord around with me. Simpler is better. This drive is as unobtrusive as it gets, with the exception of those drives that have just the USB "guts" - I haven't had any personal experience with those, but they look kind of flimsy to me, like I'd be afraid to put 'em in my pocket. Which brings me to my next point ...

- DURABLE ALUMINUM BUILD! This is my first aluminum USB flash drive. All my previous ones were of plastic casing. Of course this doesn't affect the functionality of the drive, but it does feel nicer in your hand.

- Without hesitation, I give this product a full 5-star rating.

fast storage!

Strengths: fast read and writes, durable metal casing, small and light, 4GB, not expensive

Weakness: none

This was my first high-speed flash drive purchase. It performs much better than other drives I have. It is literally 3 to 5 times faster at writing large files (like ISO images) than my Cruzer minis or my other generic 2gb usb drives. It feels more durable with a metal casing than the plastic ones I have. I plan to buy more of these drives.

Solid made. Fast

Strengths: Metal cover is really good.It feels very solid. Fast enough.

Weakness: It does heats up!!! Failed once. Sometimes is not recognizable on some machines or USB ports. Too small cap, easy to lose. Will anybody ever find more reliable option?

Good flash drive. It does not have write protection button so be careful during synchronization. One time it failed without any reason. 95 % of the content was successfully recovered using special software. Interestingly the most recently used files were unreadable. That was a little disappointing. That is why I give only four points to this drive. 4GB at this time is easy to fill. But it is OK for light use. I love metal cover. This drive is always in my pocked with keys and I don’t worry that it will be damaged. It good idea to defragment it sometimes. I recommend.

Fast and sleek

Strengths: Very fast read and write times. Well thought out aluminum casing.

Weakness: Bright light. Bad Cap design. Unable to easily put it on a keychain.

So far so good. This product performs very well against all other USB Flash Drives I've tried, and it blows away my old 256mb jump drive (but that's to be expected).

The aluminum casing adds a bit of style, and helps guarantee the protection of your newly purchased product as it acts like a heatsink, and is more durable than the plastic covers.

As with almost every other thumb drive I've had, this one still blows when it comes to the cap which I've lost already, and the fact that I can't put it on my keychain. Rather, it comes with a lanyard to put around your neck.

OCZ Rocks...AGAIN!

Strengths: Great Price, Compact Size, Big Capacity, Free Extension Cable, Free Lanyard, Super Super Deal!

Weakness: Can't reduce global warming.....

OCZ continues to introduce new products with new inovations and small sizes without cluttering up the flash drive with novelty software that isn't wanted and does it all at great prices. OCZ is giving customers what they want and is kicking the big boys butts.

Drive has problems

Strengths: design, speed

Weakness: Files disappear - formatting issue

The Rally 2 drives all seem to have common problem, that of 'disappearing files' - the drive will appear to install correctly, but over time (in a single session) the files will become inaccessible. Check the OCZ support forum here or search for the Rally 2 on their foreum to hear more -

I'm pretty disappointed with this drive and dont trust it with my data - which is why I bought it, as a backup drive. Buyer beware.

OCZ Rally2 4GB USB Drive

Strengths: Speed. Size. Price.

Weakness: Cap is a bit looser than it should be.

The reviews aren't wrong. This pen drive gets the job done fast and cheap. Sustained read speeds have been in the 20-25 MB/sec range for me thus far. Read speeds are somewhat less, but still great at this price point. The cap comes off a bit too easy and doesn't sit flush when installed. By design, I suppose. Highly recommended pen drive.
