It is the exact fit and system requirements if you want to replace the memory you have in your PS3 to this drive. All you have to do is slide out, unscrew, re-screw, slide in, reformat and it's all set. A great boost for anyone who wants to upgrade their 20/60/80GB HD in their PS3 to 160GB. If anyone was curious and were not sure if this HD was the one that would fit in the PS3, this is the one! It fits all the proper ports of the HD in the original PS3. All you'd lose during a swap would be any saved media. Personal settings and PSN network settings seem unaffected.

No problems!

Strengths: Inexpensive and five year warranty!

Weakness: Only SATA 150

I brought this 2.5 hard drive as a replacement because it failed wouldn't detect when booting. It worked right out of the box after its plugged in. This drive runs relatively cooler compare to 7200RPM drives and performance is comparable, I personally didn't feel a difference. I personally own all Seagate hard drives and none of them fail yet so if you looking for a good warranty and decent replacement without sacrificing much grab this hard drive.

iNEXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT WORKS WELL

Strengths: Easy to install for someone knowledgeable about PCs, fast, quiet, no errors or bad segments. Reasonably inexpensive ($0.44 per gig.)

Weakness: NO installation instructions or disk

Very easy to install even though it contained NO instructions or even a box with UPC code. Had to remove carrier from original drive, along with I/O and power adaptor. Reinstalled and ran Seagate utilities which I had already downloaded to test original drive. All test showed good, no bad segments and full 160 plus gig were available. Have not installed operating system yet so I can't comment on that part of the install. If you are uncomfortable working on the innards of your PC, don't go this route. Check the product spec's carefully to insure that instructions and utility disk are available.

UPDATE: Loaded WindowsXP from recovery disks. System works fine.
