raise your laptop to new height

Strengths: killer keyboard!!! - the sweetest keyboard i ever typed on.

Weakness: usb hub not self-powered, doesn't hold heavy laptop (17"+) very well.

I was amazed by how sweet the keyboard felt when I first tried the Alto in store.

And after some extensive usage, I have to say this is the best keyboard I have ever typed on, in fact I'm using it to write this review right now.

Alto lift your laptop, and set the screen at the same height (expert said a little lower would be better) as your eyes.

However there are 2 issues I'd like Logitech to fix in their next iteration.

1. USB port need to be self powered
2. Some laptop put media reader and/or volum control on the front edge of laptop (a.k.a. the bottom part where laptop meets Alto). Space need to be left for these port otherwise, it will block the access when laptop is docked.

Overall, a highly recommened product for using laptop at home.

Alto Portable Laptop Stand

Strengths: My husband loves the fact he doesn't have to look down at his laptop

Weakness: Laptop won't stay up. Keeps slipping.

It is a gread product. I have the same one at work. That's why I ordered it for him. I price was very reasonable, the lowest I have found.

No neck pain

Strengths: Good ergonomics, additional usb ports

Weakness: Funktion keys are not standard size an also the home & insert keys are not at standard places.

Reasonably priced, nice looking with good ergonomics. I use this for my 13.3" sony sz and may not be very good for bulky laptops like my older(3 years) 15.4" dell inspiron because of the rubber holders the stand uses. Overall I am satisfied.

Logitech Alto Notebook Stand Review

Strengths: It is a very sturdy, portable solution, good appearance, has several usb ports, and very comfortable so help you with the wrist fatigue

Weakness: If you plug in too many usb devices that draw power, you will need to buy external power adapter to help power the keyboard.

Very good product for the price and offers a lot of functionality such as usb ports, ability to lock the keyboard, keys are softer than a regular notebook keyboard and raise your monitor to a comfortable high so you do not have to look down to the screen.

best of both worlds

Strengths: great keyboard w/numeric pad, no software to install, usb ports work like docking station.

Weakness: no power port on the hub

I’m in the mortgage business and my company was bought by a company that uses laptops vs desktops on top of changing all the software I was used to using. The laptops are locked down and you can not install any software or drivers without IT exceptions. I enter lots of numbers and data into loan applications that have to be accurate. The learning cure was killing me. 1st I realized the laptop with a touchpad and no mouse was slowing me down. 2nd I was taking longer and making errors trying to enter numbers from the top row vs having a keypad. 3rd I have to set up and take down the laptop at least 2 or 3 times a day. It was real frustrating. The Alto was the perfect answer for me giving me the best of the mobile and desktop worlds.

In banks you can’t use wireless devices. But a plan old scroll mouse plugged into a Alto the usb port gives me a mouse when I want it. The Alto keypad lets me enter numbers much quicker can accurately. The keyboard has a great feel. When I need to pack up the laptop I just have to disconnect the Ethernet cable and power cord. The printer & mouse cables stay connected to the Alto and saves me steps again with set up on return. I have only had it one day and can see the impact it will have on my productivity. The Alto is an excellent solution if you need to work in both worlds.

This is really cool!

Strengths: Excellent keyboard (and I would expect nothing less from Logitech).

Weakness: None

This, although might be slightly overpriced for what it is and does, is one of the most excellent ideas I have seen in a long time for the laptop computer. My #1 complaint about laptops is that I hate using the "mini" keyboard. Obviously, I was not alone and this very simply yet very effective product allows anyone to be able to use a full size keyboard with virtually any laptop computer. Great job Logitech!

an interesting docking station

Strengths: usb ports, fits all laptops

Weakness: non detachable keyboad

After using this docking station for quite some time already I found it difficult to use as it did not met my expectations. However, product is well designed and idea is in place. It has 3 additional USB ports built in which makes it also acting as USB hub for your peripheral devices such are mouse or USB flash drive.

Great computer stand

Strengths: Great design amd portability

Weakness: none

This stand is one the best accessories i have bought for my laptop. I get to now see my laptop screen at eye level, instead of looking down. It's been a breeze using the keyboard of the Alto. The keys are pretty responsive and not too small. I've taken the Alto on numerous tripssince it folds conveniently in a handcarry or luggage. This is a definite must have for people on the go.

Cool stylish laptop stand

Strengths: Stylish, integrated keyboard

Weakness: The power adapter to power the additional USB is not included, high price, kinda heavy

Logitech designed a a stylish and cool laptop stand (at least to me). I liked it from the first time I start using it. I have a E1505 from dell and it fit perfectly on it. it position your laptop so that it kinda feel like a desktop and I think they did a very good job with that.

The major weakness for it is that you will need a power adapter if you want to use the additional USB port on the stand. It doesn't make sense since why include the USB ports when you not going to include the power adapter (you have to buy it from them)? Might as well don't put the additional USB ports and it might even reduce the weight of the stand. I don't think very many people can justify spending more money to buy the adapter when the stand by itself is $80+.

Nevertheless, I like this stand but I don't see me buying that power adapter. Somehow it makes you think it's only there so that they can milk more of your money.

Logitech Alto Notebook Stand w/ Keyboard

THE GOOD: Easy plug-and-play setup; sturdily constructed and stable; full-size keyboard and three USB ports; folds up for compact storage. THE BAD: Weight limit rules out some larger laptops; fixed height doesnt always provide ideal ergonomics; blocks off ports on the front of the laptop; does not replace a full-fledged docking station. THE BOTTOM LINE: The Alto notebook stand is a creative...
