The best in-the-ear earphones I've used

Strengths: Great audio fidelity Superb bass response Very comfortable design Push-to-hear adapter great on the plane

Weakness: Expensive I ordered yellow foam ear pieces separately from Shure's website; these used to come with all their earphones

I have used many different headphones including various in-the-ear headphones as well as over the ear noise canceling headphones including the Bose line.

These Shure SE530PTH are by far the best headphones I've used. I use them with the yellow foam earpieces that I ordered from Shure's website. These provide a great seal and fit.

I use them both around the house and when doing outdoor work such as mowing the lawn. Due to them sealing out the noise so well they work great. They also are great working out and don't fall out of your ears.

These are also great for traveling. I liked the Bose but they were always a bulky item to carry, especially when I am already carrying a PSP, iPOD and sometimes a laptop. The Shure headphones are great because they are so small and compact. On a plane, the "Push to Hear" adapter is great when the airline staff come by to serve drinks, etc. You don't have to take your headphones out to hear them.

If you are ok with the price, these are the headphones to get.

Rich in Every Way, accessories could be better

Strengths: Beautiful sound detailing, uniform strength across entire audio range, robust cabling.

Weakness: Expensive, carrying case is cheap and difficult to use.

Incredible sonic detail, rich and powerful sound. The supplied oval carrying case is cheap and has no spool attachment, which would be useful. The

Shure SE530 ear buds

Strengths: Excellent highs and mids, lows depend on achieving a good seal in the ear canal. You must try the different size buds that come with the 530s to find the ones that work best for your ear.

Weakness: None really – they are expensive and I would only recommend them for people who demand the best in audio.

As someone who has used over the ear headphones in the past, it took some getting used to the in the ear bud. I was initially disappointed with the low end sound but then realized that I needed to ensure a better fit to my ear. Once I accomplished that, I was quite happy with the sound. However, if you like thumping bass, these are not the transducers for you.

Comfort and quality combine

Strengths: sound quality, comfortable fit, outside noise blocking

Weakness: short cord requires use of included accessories

These headphones cost a great deal, so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. The sound quality is tremendous. They fit snugly in my ear and do not hurt my ear after some time as most earbuds do. I just flew from Chicago to Warsaw, Poland and had them in for 6-7 hours to block out cabin noise (I sat in the LAST row - ugh.) With just a little low volume music, not only did they block out all outside sound, my ears felt fine the next morning when I removed them.

Worth every penny!

Strengths: The Shure SE530 has exceptionally well-balanced, clear and natural sound. It is very comfortable to the ears and can even be worn in bed without stressing or poking ear.

Weakness: Cord management is not good. The cord loops over the earlobes but it often falls off. The cord length to the plug is very short and requires an extension.

There are a lot of in-ear solutions and I have bought a bunch of them. The non-sound-isolating earphones are good when I need to be attentive to my surroundings. When I want to focus on the music, the SE530 are the best I have found. The SE530 are wonderful on an airplane or if I am using power tools (like a lawn mower). They are even better on a quiet day when I am lying in my recliner relaxing after a hard and stressful day of work.

My personal area of interest is in hearing the detail or the texture of the sound. The SE530 brings the sound to me better than any headphone or loudspeaker I have ever heard. Yeah, they are expensive. Yeah, they are worth it.

Best Mobil Sound Ever

Strengths: Clear sound, detailed even for mp3, good bass well balanced, just right. Easy to wear, easy to fit.

Weakness: At this stage none

I'm a hifi adict, good quality sound is a must, at home, in the car every where.
Being an owner of high end equipement I find the Shure SE530PTH a excellent sound system, It really improves the sound quality of the unfortunatly lower quality mp3 players.
I have the Shure 310 headphone, very good, but this is something else.

I enjoy the sound, the fit and the quality of the product.
To me the price absolutely worth the quality you will get in return.

so my advice is : buy it

SE530PTH Noise Isolating Headphones Perfect sound,...

Strengths: The best sound ever! The look cool - metalic (not black and silver looking as the photos suggest)

Weakness: Inserts caused pain in the ear

These things have the best sound I've ever heard... perfect. But I couldn't stand it for long. They caused a dull pain in the ear, then down the neck. I guess my ears just could not adjust to the pressure of the inserts. IMPORTANT: others may have issues too, I recommend you review the seller's return policy well. Be sure you can return these if you have issues.

Good Product

Strengths: Great sount although I have not pushed the limit with the outputs I have used. Looking forward to doing that

Weakness: Not much of a manual. also not at all impressed with the push to hear module.

Push to hear module seems very selective in what it works with. Cockpit announcements are clear, but hearing the flight attendant does not work at all well. Not sure based on no manual what I should really expect or how to tweak

From E4c to se530 (plus PTH)

Strengths: >Se530 compare to E4c Improved bass Crisp over full range Improved overall output (louder) Spacious than E4c >PTH Idea of having such system

Weakness: >Se530 Size of modular system bit bulky Fixed nozzle, can’t exchange nozzle like E4c Bit stiff wire >PTH Size: simply to huge for its function.

Worth upgrading from E4c
Noticeable improvements and changes (sound, modular system, accessory, etc.)
Very unforgiving sound: white noise can’t be any more annoying. What ever was in the recording room (or setting), you will hear it.
PTH not really worth getting unless one needs the Fn really bad. Unit is extremely bulky, size of a small mp3 player.

Will make most other headphones seem unworthy.

Strengths: Range of highs and lows. Clarity. Comfort.

Weakness: Price. PTH is cumbersome.

I upgraded from the E4C to this model based upon the online recommendations. The E4Cs are the cadillac, but the SE530s are the Astin Martin. They have radically changed for the better my personal audio experience.

The utility of the PTH is dubious. Would rather have it then not, but setting it up requires a lot more work than it should.

Simply the best personal audio I have ever experienced.

Best Travel Headphones

Shure makes a lot of quality products and these earbuds are no different. They’re the only bud model on this list, which should say a lot of their quality. They’re durable and...
