Great drive!!

Strengths: Very fast! NCQ is a plus!

Weakness: None!

This drive is a very fast drive. It outperforms the Seagate Barracuda. The NCQ is a really nice feature of the drive. It is almost as fast as Western Digital's Raptor drive.

DiamondMax Plus10 250GB SATA HD

Strengths: 16 megabyte cache, NCQ, Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) motor

Weakness: none

This is a very quiet drive, much quieter than my other drives (WD). It is also very fast. I already had one of these in my computer from the manufacturer for eight months now and liked it so much I added this one as a second one for more storage space. I would definitely recommend getting this drive.

Very good overall drive

Strengths: Fast, cheap, large capacity.

I realy love this drive realy cheap price, lots of storage, wicked fast...Doom 3 loads up mutch faster than my old Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM drive. Gotta Love Maxtor in my opinion there the best drive maker!

Maxtor DiamondMax 250 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: Lots of space, very fast, good price.

Weakness: Not quite as fast as a Raptor.

I couldn't be happier with this hard drive. It runs very fast, and is humongous. I shouldn't be needing a new hard drive for a very long time. This has got to be one of the best 7200rpm hard drives on the market.

Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB SATA-150 16MB Cache Hard...

Strengths: 16MB Cache, ATA-150 Fast Speed, Lots of Space, Very Quiet

Weakness: None

I've been using Western Digital for many years but saw this hard drive because it didn't cost very much. Later did I find out that I was more satisfied with Maxtor. Maxtor is so much quieter than Western Digital, noticably. I think I'll be using Maxtor for now on.

Maxtor DiamondMax 250 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: Quiet and 16mb cache

Weakness: none

Works great, haven't had any problems with it yet. It's a brand I trust. The great thing about the dirve is the 16mb cache. Very nice for a PATA drive.

Why is the rating a 3/5, yet the text indicated it's perfect?

Maxtor DiamondMax 250 GB Internal Hard Drive

Strengths: none

Weakness: broken, unreliable, flaky

bought four of them. Two were broken out of the box, but I thought it was a problem with the OS or the cable setting, and labour for several weeks to fit them into my computers before I realised that two out of the four were broken. The thrid disk is unstable and looeses sectors every few weeks.

Maxtor has one of the lowest return rates at less than 1%. The likely hood you had three bad drives is 1 in over a Million. This is taken from 1% of 1% of 1% (3 drives). So your issues are 99.9% due to inproper handling. As a manager of a PC Shop, I would recommend these drives.

Ya dude you can't blame Maxtor for bad handling, it's the site you bought it from.... I wouldn't buy from them again!

Why did it require laboring for several weeks to fit them into your computers? It takes 4 screws at most, even just one if you're feeling lazy ;)
