Great value!Strengths: Easy installation and quiet operation. Weakness: None so far. Western Digital is a namesake in computer hard drive retail. This HD should prevent me from having to buy a new PC until after the whole Microsoft Vista experiment ends. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Capacity Upgrade
Strengths: large capacity, small footprint, quietness
Weakness: 3 year warranty is not as long as seagate's 5 year warranty.
I bought this hard drive to go along with a SATA external enclosure. The combined large capacity and small footprint makes it extremely attractive as a day-to-day backup drive for my laptop. It is as quiet as an equivalent seagate 5400rpm drive. It does get hot for extended operation, such as de-fragmentation. But it is on par with other 5400rpm 2.5" drive I used before. Minimal vibration in comparison to 7200rpm hard drives.
This drive is slightly shorter than the regular 2.5" disk.
