Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Dual-shock type design. Comfortable, functional.

Weakness: D-pad feels a bit loose

If you've ever held a Sony Dual-Shock PS1/PS2 controller, the RumblePad 2 will instantly feel familiar. The size, shape, and button layout is exactly the same. Overall, the controller is both comfortable and functional - all buttons are easily within reach.

The vibration feature works exactly as you'd expect. I personally find it somewhat annoying; it is easy enough to turn off though with one button press.

The dual analog sticks work very well. They are covered with a non-slip rubber coating, making them very easy to grip. The D-pad is a bit slick and loose for my tastes, but it isn't terrible by any means.

Game support is pretty good; I've used this pad with EA Sports game, first person shooters such as Halo, and action/platform games. Many games will automatically detect the gamepad and already have the buttons set. If not, it is easy enough to program the buttons to your satisfaction.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: The controller feels solid with a Playstation shape and feel. It has two different vibration motors to give out an accurate response. Vibration response can also be adjusted from within the software.

Weakness: No many weaknesses. But in order for the vibration function to work, the drivers have to be installed so you can't easily plug and play on any computer if you want the vibration function.

I bought this controller a few weeks ago and been using it regularly throughout the period. So far I'm pretty satisfied with it, the controller is very similar to the Playstation so the button configuration is pretty much all the same. I've been playing NFSU2 with it and it works just fine. The vibrations in the game feels a little weak by default, but the response can be adjusted in the software if you want a harder vibration.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: stylish, programmable, solid build

Weakness: a little on the heavy side, take a little time to get used to for the MS sidewinder users.

This is by far the best gamepad that I have ever used. Took a little time to get vibration to work, but that's about it. Everything works perfectly. Very happy with the purchase.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: durable, high quality, very comfortable. compatible with most games.

Weakness: no vibration in some games

I am fully satisfied with this gamepad. The controller is very comfortable in hand and the vibration feedback works well. The built-in mode switch button can let you switch directional control from analog joystick to D-pad. It is much better than Dual Action gamepad, especially in FIFA soccer game. Yo will find it is very easy to control the direction with the smart-designed D-pad. I highly recommend the controller.

Best choice for PC gamepad.

Strengths: Sturdy. Good hardware. Familiar PS2 layout. Analog sticks are good.

Weakness: With buttons were PS2's (triangle, square, etc.) rather than numbered (I'm guessing Sony has a trademark on that?). Vibrating feature doesn't work with popular games like Madden. Direction pad.

Being that it's a controller made for the PC, it's probably the best controller you can get for the PC. I do prefer Sony's controller personally, just better feel on the buttons but I would say this is the best one you can get for the PC. I've always trusted Logitech's products and this one is no different.

The analog sticks are good, however, the direction pad, I don't like too much. When I play Madden, I don't use the analog sticks, I've always used the D-pad. Reason why I don't like the D-pad on this controller, you can't precision control like you can on the PS2. For instance, let's say you want to go in between up and up-right, you can't. You'll either to up or up-right. It just isn't smooth when you're trying to go in between up and up-right, it sort of forces you to go at any one hard direction. If you never use the D-pad anyways, this will not matter to you since you can use the analog sticks.

One thing that really annoyed me was that the box advertises all the EA Sports games to be compatible with the Rumblepad 2 but it's not completely true. Yes, the controls work but the vibrating feature doesn't work and the box makes it seem like it does. So basically, as far as Madden goes, there is no difference whether you get the Rumblepad 2 or the lower model Dual Action gamepad because the layout is the same and neither will vibrate. I don't even know IF the vibrating will ever be capable so I could've bought the Dual Action which will do the same thing and save 10 bucks. That really annoyed me because we're made to think it's fully capable, including vibration, so we buy the more expensive Rumblepad but there is no advantage of getting the vibrating feature since it doesn't even work.

Logitech should have a list of all the popular games like EA Sports games, Need for Speed, etc., to make it easier for us to know what it's capable of instead of it being a guessing game.

Overall, the controller itself, I'm satisfied with it and will probably keep it since there is nothing better out there that I know of. The negative comments I made were really toward the inability to use one of the main features of this controller and not knowing until I found out for myself.

(Maybe I'm doing something wrong for the vibrating feature to not be working but I couldn't figure it out and according to everything I read online, it's not capable. If anyone knows how to enable it or if it will ever be enabled, let me know. My email address is lndrtm@yahoo.com)

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: easy to install.Very cheap!

Weakness: Not yet find it ,so far.

This is my first GamePad. It is easy to install. To active this GamePad, you need to run the game through the software, but it is very easy to do that. I felt very good with less than $20 price. I will play more game to test it soon.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Sturdy and well built. responsive. accurate.

Weakness: none

This is one of the best gamepads I've used. It has plenty of well placed buttons and the controls are accurate. The previous versions of the rumblepad uses d-pad that is round, making directional control very inaccurate. This version no longer has that problem.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Programmable key functions. Various vibration modes. Rubber pad.

Weakness: A little heavy.

When I tested this pad after install, I was surprised with various vibrations. Vibration synchronized with sound. Great! Logitech recommends EA games to feel such vibrations. I will play them soon. Recently I play NFSU2. Analog stick works flawlessly. This pad can immerse me in the game.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Playstation controller-like feel. Firm buttons that give good tactile feedback. D-pad is responsive and good.

Weakness: Weight. This thing weighs more than I thought (maybe thats because of the two motors they have to put into it). Analog sticks are okay, not great.

Just received this controller about 1.5 weeks ago. Overall, I'm impressed with the controller, but not blown away. I love the feel of the thing...if you like the PS2 controller, you will LOVE this thing. The buttons feel firm and give you a good tactile response.

Two things though:
1) This thing weighs alot. I havent gotten hand fatigue from it yet, but I wouldnt be surprised if I do after 3+ hours of gaming.
2) The rumble feature doesnt work on every game. Not a biggie for me though since I prefer a well-constructed controller to one with Rumble feedback.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Well-built, heavy for its size (doesn't feel like cheap material), the driver works just fine, easy to configure, perfect for emulators

Weakness: none so far

I got this controller for around $15, which I consider a very good price for this quality product. The driver works no problem and the software is easy to use. The hardware is well-built and functions just fine.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: easy to use minimal set up necessary sturdy construction

Weakness: none yet installation manual was useless but wasn't necessary since installation was so easy - seems like a waste of paper though

Purchased this because one of my friends recommended it - I'm glad he did. I've had great experience with this controller so far and the ability to change modes is extremely handy in case you don't want to just use the joy stick you can use the directional pad. It also fits in my hands really well - I have small-medium hands.

Defnitely a great deal - no doubt about it. They have it in wireless as well but I don't trust the delay on wireless devices. Personally, if I want to play further away from the computer, I'll just buy a $3 USB extension cable.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: stylish, programmable, vibration modes, playstation-like controller fits perfectly in my hand,

Weakness: feedback is not compatible with all games, a little heavy

I purchased this from Staples for $15. Installation was extrememly easy (under WinXP w/ SP2) as it is USB. I tested this pad with various games and so far I have been very happy with it. The one exception is I haven't been able to get feedback to work in Madden 2005 but I might be configuring it incorrectly. There are lots of buttions all of which are programmable. The buttons feel good, with a satisfying tactile response. The cord length is decent. The pad does feel a little bit on the heavy side but its not that big of a problem. Great deal esp if you can find this at Staples. I highly recommend it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Extremely easy to use - I was able to use it on emulator games The vibration function is pretty strong so you can definitely feel it. The software is easy to install and required minimal effort

Weakness: No easy way to figure out whether a game would support vibration function or not, but logitech website is pretty helpful.

The game pad comes with a CD, installation manual and the pad. THe manual is utterly useless but then again, it doesn't take a genius to install this. Pop the CD in, install the software, and when its done, it'll prompt you to plug in the controller. Then go to your favorite game and set the buttons to correspond to the many many buttons available. Awesome pad ~

RumblePad2 Gamepad

Strengths: Feels great in hands. Easy to use and install. Nice design.

Weakness: None. One of the best gamepads out there now.

This is the best gamepad out now. I highly recommend it. It feels great in your hands. It is easy to install. It has more than enough buttons. The vibration is excellent. The materials for the gamepad and buttons are high quality. The design of the gamepad looks great. The directional pad and analog sticks work perfectly. It is an affordable gamepad that everyone would be happy with.

a gamepad that rocks..

Strengths: Comfortable, made of quality materials, precise. programmable. vibration feature.

Weakness: d-pad feels somewhat looser than the rest of the controls. older games might not support it. need to install additional drivers for vibration.

This is a great gamepad! I've owned 2 in the past, and this one is by far the best. It's practically the PC version of the playstation's Dual Shock controller in every respect. There is a hefty and sturdy feel to the pad, and I really like the button's positive feel. Also, each of the 12 buttons are clearly labeled on the controller as they are recognized by the computer. (My other controllers labeled the buttons as A, B, C, X, Y, Z, etc but the drivers and games asked for buttons as 1, 2, 3, etc.)

While you might find other gamepads with similar shapes, button layouts, and functions, it will be very difficult to match Logitech's quality and precision.

Generally, compatibility is excellent for newer games, but it might not work with older DOS games that expect gamepads and joysticks to go into the joystick/midi port instead of USB.

The only drawback I've found is that for vibration feedback, you need to install Logitech's gaming drivers. Otherwise, Windows XP SP2 just picks up the controller as a normal game pad.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase...I always felt that there were just some games that need to be played on a gamepad, and this is the gamepad to play them on.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Familiar Layout, Strong analog sticks, good size

Weakness: D-pad seems wobbly, buttons 9 and 10, and the mode/vibration buttons should be switched

I have been using this pad for a few weeks in Need for Speed Underground 2 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I "upgraded" to this from the Original Cordless Rumblepad after it started eating batteries. Compared to that one, the most notable improvement is the analog sticks. They feel stronger and more like a Playstation controller's sticks. This controller has one less button total, with a few buttons added and missing from other places (an extra button by the mode/vibration buttons, and 2 less on the main button area), and has depressable analog sticks. The rumble features work great and the motors aren't too strong but still give a nice rumble. Overall I am extremely pleased with this controller and recommend it to everyone.

Logitech RumblePad 2 Vibration Feedback Gamepad USB

Strengths: "Console"-like feel. Responsive, seemingly durable buttons

Weakness: None encountered

Best pad I've owned. Purchased two and are using both simultaneously via usb hub. They were recognized immediately and have performed well since. Logitech seems to be very reliable (I also own a Logitech corded usb optical mouse and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo and have had similar good success)

Good enough.

Strengths: Stylish, familiar feel

Weakness: D-pad lacks precision, vibration not fully supported

If you play games on consoles (especially the PS series), this controller will feel nice and familiar. However, I did find that the directional pad was a little too loose, making acheiving precision with it difficult in some games.

Like many USB devices, on the Mac this requires no software instalation. However, as there's no support for the vibration feedback on the Mac, Mac users might be better off saving a few bucks and getting a similar controller without the vibration feature.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Relatively easy to install.

Weakness: My 1st game controller so I have nothing to compare it with.

Comfortable and relatively ergometric grip. Reliable brand having used other Logitech's products (cordless keyboard and mouse). Requires only moderate learning curve as my 1st game controller. I feel comfortable relying on Logitech products for future purchases. I look forward to many more hours of enjoyment using this game controller.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Comfort, Design, Good Software

Weakness: None.

This is definately the best controller on the market right now. I think it is better than the cordless version because I have the cordless version and it causes interference with the cordless phones in my house, so it would just stop working whenever the phone in the room rang. This one solves that problem because it is corded. It is very comfortable and works great with Need for Speed Underground 2, which is what I mainly use it for.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 GamePad

Strengths: Affordable: like another reviewer here, I got this from Staples when they clearanced it out for $15. Even at $25 retail, this controller works and feels fine.

Weakness: I understand the force feedback is not automatically available in some games, eg., Madden. Not a problem for me. As long as the unit doesn't break prematurely, I don't see any glaring deficits.

This controller will feel quite comfortable to anyone who is familiar with, say, the Sony Playstation 2 controller. Note that it is NOT wireless, but the included USB cord is sufficiently long for the typical PC gamer since you won't be sitting too far from your monitor. The unit has the usual high-quality Logitech build. The joystick has just the right amount of tension, and the other buttons are laid out in the usual familar arrangement. The rumble feature is frankly just a novelty, but it does add a little to certain games (I like feeling it in a racing game when you bump a wall or another car). No problems installing under Windows XP.
