Maxtor 60GB EIDE 7200RPM UDMA 100 3.5LP

Strengths: 7200 RPM's, Maxtor's No-Quibble Warranty, 2MB Cache,Easy installation.

Weakness: Does get pretty warm when Crunching, but no Degration of the processing.

Maxtor has always been the Best Manufacture of Hard Drives, They have a Superior Warranty, Next Day Air Replacement, Cost You out of Pocket like 10 bucks But 2nd Air is Free. I recently had a Problem with my Maxtor after about 2 Yrs of having the Drive. I accidentally Restarted During a Format, And it Got all messed up. So I called them up cause it started making Funny noises. Well They Replaced Free of Charge and Even Gave me a Bigger Hard-drive Because the Original Hard-Drive that I sent them wasn't Made anymore. Cost me 10 Dollars out of Pocket money They Next Day Air Shipped the New Drive to me and All I had to do was put the bad HDD in that box and drop it off and the nearest UPS or FedEx. So Easy and Simple. I Took 3 Days For the Whole Transaction to take place. And I had a NEW (not Refurbished) Drive.

Maxtor 60GB EIDE 7200RPM UDMA 100 3.5LP

Strengths: Excellent reliability.

Weakness: Warm, not the quietest

I was once wiring a fan while it was running scandisk and touched the case with the 12v line; it didn't skip a beat.

While it's warmer than my 30 gig 7200 rpm maxtors, it's not bad for a hdd this size.

Overall, I'd always recommend Maxtor drives.
