Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Good sound and a great value, especially at $100. Weakness: Boomy subwoofer, RCA-based cable system. A solid 5.1 system with much to offer. The speakers are fairly directional, but that seems common in the desktop-realm, where you have 5 speakers within arm's reach. It isn't a downside, however, and makes these very appropriate for games. The controller works well, although sometimes one must turn it off to plug in headphones to get it to turn the speakers off. 100% of readers found this review helpful. most bang for the buckStrengths: crisp, clean sound, wired remote, easy to set-up, attractive design Weakness: lots of cords/wires, sometimes bass is too powerful I am not an audiophile but I am a lover of music and I thought it was time to do justice to my music & myself and buy some real speakers rather than rely on my tinny laptop speakers. I did a little research on speakers and this system seemed to pack the most bang for the buck, offering features of systems priced hundreds of dollars more. Overall, I've been really satisfied. It was a breeze to set up and the quality is fantastic. I can hear all the intricate details of music without having to blare the volume. It's also great for watching movies in surround sound. My only "complaints" (really, minor annoyances) are that there are a lot of cords making my desk look ugly, but that's not a problem specific to these speakers. Also, the bass can be a little too powerful, even when turned down to the lowest setting (my neighbors have knocked on my door with actual complaints a couple of times). Other than that, this is a great system and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quality speaker system that isn't too expensive. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Sounds Wonderful, Gets Very Loud, Excellent Subwoofer Weakness: Short speaker cables, a little expensive, and the sub can be too strong at times, but can be adjusted. Overall, I've been pleased with my Logitech Z-5300e speakers. They produce clear loud sound, which I can here everywhere in the house, and sound better than my previous speakers, a set of Labtec Pulse 424's (Great speakers for the cost, shame they're mot made any more). Having surround sounds for movies is great, and the subwoofer is a beast, putting out lots of bass. Sometimes the bass can be a bit much, depending on what you're listening to, but can be adjusted by the remote, and also you can use an equalizer on your PC to lower it more if needed. 89% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Strong bass and very little distortion at high volumes. Ability to easily customize the various qualities. Weakness: Large subwoofer makes storage a little uneasy. I would definitely recommend this product. It's great for all sounds I've encountered and easily hooks up to my gaming system (Xbox). Great value for the money. 88% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Incredible sound. Very powerful base. Easy installation. Weakness: Size of base unit is VERY large. Almost a coffee table. Semi-pricy. I took the time to compare 6-10 brands before purchasing and this was the one that had the top end sound quality I wanted, but still under $200. I didn't intend to spend as much on speakers, but when I heard the difference there was no other way to go. Gaming just isn't the same if the explosions don't shake your chair. I suggest you go to a retailer, listen for yourself and then buy here. 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: THX Certified, Powerful...Very Powerful, Good price for the Power. Looks sharp, not cheap. Rebate helps Weakness: Cords a little short, Bass almost too powerful(if you can call that a weakness) For less than $100 after a $50 rebate, I am 100% satisfied with this sharp looking set of highly effective speakers. I researched the best buys on speakers for several weeks and found that for what I was able to spend, this was the best deal on all accounts. The only other brand I really even considered was Klipsch, and those were way out of my financial ballpark. For half the price, these really kick. If you are a fan of the bass, these will rule your world, they rattle my townhouse at less than half the output. If you hate your neighbors, these speakers will assist you in tormenting them. Quality THX sound as the cherry on the top. Highly recommended. 80% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Feb 1, 2007 It's been about 18 months, but I got it at Securemart.com, for about $110 plus a hefty shipping fee, and it had a $50 Logitech mail in rebate available, so I got if for about the set for about $90 after I cashed the rebate check.

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: power, sound quality, easy to store and set up around computer or tv and over all, an awsome system Weakness: will let you know after i have them for a while, now can not think of any these speakers has the cleariest sound i have ever heard, and the power is unbeliebable. you can use one system to dj a party in a room from 600 to 800 square feet. You can also use as a suround sound system for your tv and dvd system. It makes it so much fun to just stay at home and watch movies and your favorite tv shows, when you hear the sound that this system can put out. 80% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Very loud, appearance Weakness: Remote control, wires too short This speaker system will put out a lot of loud bass; probably too much for a small room. This is great for movies, but it seems like too much for certain music (i.e. with the subwoofer volume turned all the way down, it still way overpowers the satellites). The remote has good functionality, but the 1/4" cable connection is ridiculous. There should be a wireless remote, or they should have just put the controls on the subwoofer itself. The LED's on the remote are way too bright also. I almost can't look straight at them in a well lit room. It's also unfortunate that you can't connect your own wires to the satellites, which are wall-mountable. You pretty much would have to leave the wire draped down the wall (which is unacceptable to me). Overall though, they are pretty good for the price you can find them for - much better than the competition anyway. 73% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: excellent speakers. best for the price. it's great for watching movies. Weakness: none that i know of yet. will let you know if any problems occur. they are also quite attractive and stylish with the metallic look. i agreee that the cable length is way too short. could be a problem there. 71% of readers found this review helpful. An Alternative Viewpoint--READ BEFORE YOU BUY!Strengths: Easy setup, nice looking, very clean + crisp sound...as long as you re-direct bass away from satellites Weakness: Satellites cannot handle bass, even at low volume After reading the reviews on this site, I decided to give these a try as an upgrade to my Creative Inspire 5.1 system. The product is very sleek-looking and sets up without any hassles. I love the fact the speaker cables are built into the speakers and plug right in to the subwoofer, instead of the exposed wires that get all twisted and frayed. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Jan 4, 2007 Small satelite speakers aren't designed to reproduce bass. That is why these systems come with subwoofers.

May 10, 2007 This is the crappiest review ever. I use this speaker set for Battlefield 2 and it sounds AWESOME. I think you need a different sound card or something because I've never had to tweak the bass and it sounds great.

Sep 6, 2007 The "crackling" sound you are experiencing sounds like a problem originating from the subwoofer, probably a voice coil; it is obviously defective and no way represents these speakers (the other reviews should have clued you in to that). I had two sets of cheap sicuro 5.1's that ended up doing exactly what you are describing after a few months of use. It sounds like you got a defective subwoofer right out the door. Just go exchange the speakers for another set and you'll be good to go.

Sep 6, 2007 I'd like to retract my review -- I wound up keeping these speakers, and I must say they are simply AWESOME. The problem I was having was caused by the overall output/volume maxed out. As soon as I dialed this down to 50-60%, they worked as intended. Apolgies to anyone who got upset!

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Great sound, looks great, and the feet of the speakers have mounting holes to mount to the wall or ceiling. Weakness: Cables could be longer, but extentions are easy enough to get. I love this set of speakers. The only bad thing about them was holding my arms over my head to mount the rear speakers to the ceiling. The speakers also swivel on their base so you can get a better direction for mounting. This is a great set of speakers at a really reasonable price. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Has very good sound and like how easy it was to hook up. Weakness: Havent noticed any yet. This is a great product and I like the Logitech brand name that i went with. This logitech system makes watching movies so much more enjoyable. Movies with a lot of action and sound the system sometimes supplies enough power to shake the house, its so sweet. Thanks for the product and this rebate. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Audio quality for the price, looks, features Weakness: short wires, wired remote This set of speakers is a very good buy for the money. For 150 dollars, nothing else can beat this. If you are going to play games, a 5.1 channel audio setup can complete the "atmosphere" of the game, providing you with full immersion. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Great sound, Great bass, great Treable, pretty much everything you need for a cheaper sound system, excellent. Weakness: Hard to get everything configured properily, no included 5.1 dvd movie viewer. This was a great system exspecially for the price and for what i need it for. Primarily listening to music, or playing doom 3 and other games like that. The only downside is this did not include a 5.1 dvd movie viewer, they are hard to find, and the configuration of the speakers is a bit hard to do and i still have yet to figure it all out. But other then that this is a great system for the price. 20% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

May 10, 2007 First of all... Logitech is NOT responsible for including a "5.1 DVD Movie Viewer Software" along with their speaker set. How can you even expect them to do that? Its like buying a refrigerator from Sears and expecting them to stock it with food for you.

Z-5300eStrengths: Really nice sound, incredible bass, very good quality for the price. Weakness: Rear cables really too short and sometimes there is just too much of bass... I was firt looking for a 2.1 speaker system (Logitech Z-2300) but there was an error with my pc shop and they didnt have it in store. So the guy offers me a rebate for this system and after testing it a bit, I really don't regret my purchase. I highly recommend it. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: Good sound at a reasonable price. Powerful subwoofer and clear crisp sound. Weakness: short speaker cord (rear), wired remote instead of wireless. This whole package is very heavy weighing more than 40lbs total. Great sound for my pc for playing MP3s as well as watching movies on my 21" LCD screen. Convenient adapter for my PS2 game system allow me to play games at nice realistic sound. The only minor problem I have is the short speaker cord which I can workaround a bit. For the amount of money I paid for this set of speakers it's well worth it. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: amazing speakers with reasonable price, clear and crispy sound Weakness: cords on rear speakers are a little short I bought these speakers to upgrade my home server's sound system. So far it proved to me i have made a wise buy. At about $130 from bestbuy two months ago, i got my speakers and i think i got more than i had expected ,mainly because none of the lower priced speaker systems have such a large enough sub to produce enough bass.I would really recommend this 5.1 speaker system to you if you have only had $150 budget on speakers. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Great product !! Definitely is LogitechStrengths: Great sound, too much power for what i need, very good quality Weakness: Front speaker wires kind of short Is a very good product, totally recommended, great sound, no issues at all, good stands for the speakers... and the subwoofer is heavy... but it performs great! The only thing is the wires for the front speakers (not the center one) They are short Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great systemStrengths: Great price, excellent sound, good for gaming Weakness: Remote control looks cheap. Brought the system on zipzoomfly, got it quick and am very satisfied with the performance, games and music sound real. Love the removable speaker grills. Wish the remote looked a bit more high class. Logitech Z5300eStrengths: Strong bass, crisp highs and mid range Weakness: NONE These speakers were purchased to replace a set of great sounding speakers that had a power source go bad which couldn't be replaced. I originally wanted the Logitech 6.1 X6200's but they were unavailable. I purchased these and the sound is amazing. The highs are crisp, the midrange outstanding, and the bass solid. The wires are a bit short but extensions can be purchased. The sound is room filling. For the price they can't be beat. An example of how good these sound; you're outside a concert listning to the music and when you go in you hear the music. These are the MUSIC!!! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: good overall sound, super deep bass, easy to install, great remote (wish it was wireless though). Looks slick too, small speakers with big sound. I have not had to turn it up all the way. Weakness: wires are a little on the short side, but could be cured with some simple RCA extenstions (purchase them as you buy). My small NY apartment just made it! Wouldn't deter my from purchasing though. Overall very good purchase for the money, the Matrix feture is useful as well. Remote looks good and has a headphone jack which is useful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

These speakers are awesomeStrengths: Lound, Clean Sound, Very Nice Bass, Convenient Wired Remote Weakness: None Yet These speakers are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Nice rich bass that shakes my entire room (My cats are like "WTF"). Very clean sound, Absolutely NO HISS Or Cracking (I use a creative X-FI XtremeGamer sound card which costs about $80). So far these are the best PC speakers I've owned. Awesome for music and gaming. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Boomin Bass!Strengths: THX Certification, Thumpin Bass, Crisp Sound, Swiveling Bases, Removable Covers. Weakness: Fixed Cables, and lots of them. First and foremost, these speakers rock! You can get kicked out of just about any apartment complex jammin these on a regular basis. The bass is incredibly strong. There's no doubt you'll not only hear them but also feel them. My wife is constantly complaining about the bass, which couldnt make me happier. I wish the cables werent connectorized though. The positioning is very limited due to this problem. I like my speakers up high and in all corners. Cant happen with this set-up. O'well, they still rule. I would most certainly recommend these speakers, especially if you're lucky enough to score them as cheaply as I did. $80 after the rebate. Big time score in my opinion. Good for the moneyStrengths: Crisp sound, plenty of power to fill a smallroom. The right price. Weakness: Cord length (common complaint), hard to get sound "flat". I think the opinion of these largely rests in the expectations and listening habits of the purchaser. If you are used to high end audio, you will likely be disapointed. It took a lot of work with my sound card's EQ to get it mostly flat, the sub has a tendency to be boomy and while the highs are good, dialogue isn't often translated that well through the center, on 5.1 (DTS or DD) movies. OH MY GAWD!!Strengths: VERY high power! it has the sound quality of 2 ten inch subs! looks great! easy hookup! i have installed tons of audio in home and car, but for the price this is the SH*T! it can rattle everything! Weakness: short RCA cables.. but goood enuff for setting up an average room. looks great! clen sound no distortion. and it has lots of bass but it can be adjusted on the remote.also the fader and center control is on the remote too. we are going to buy another one for the livingroom. but this one will stay with my computer. if you dont beleve my revue just look up the specs of the other systems and compare! Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: high-end sound quality, the subwoofer is outstanding,Pure crisp sound Weakness: cable length and no wireless remote control I bought the speakers one and half months ago at less than $110 after rebate. I might say that these speakers are really an excellent buy! The mid-range is very clear, and the subwoofer does a very good job.Sound comes out pure and crisp. If you want to upgrade your computer's sound system, don't delay, this is a nice and worth buy. Some reviewers complain that this product cannot create a home theatre sound effect, i am afaid that they really havn't done carefully reseach on this product. This item is designated to upgrade PC sound system but not DVD or TV's. Logitech Z-5300E Speaker SystemStrengths: more than enough power, easy setup, nice and quality speakers Weakness: cable length is ok for standard PC gaming but if you want to use them as a home theatre in the corners of the room you will need some extra cables. as soon as i got them i unpacked and set them up. very easy. i played some half life 2 and the sound makes a difference. especially the bass. Actually because i live in a flat, while watching a DVD i had to reduce the bass to minimum with the wired remote and also in the settings of my sound card (audigy 2 zs) Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Logitech Z-5300E Speaker System
Strengths: Nice, crisp sound when playing both DVD movies and music.
Weakness: Huge subwoofer takes up a lot of space. No mute button on remote.
I had the Logitech Z-640's previously and the Z-5300e offers a noticeably superior sound experience. I have watched DVDs and listened to music with these speakers attached to the Soundstorm on my Abit NF7-S speakers and the sound is wonderful.
The remote control is nice, though a wireless remote might be nicer. At least this way I won't misplace the remote! It would be nice if they put a mute button on the remote, but you can hit the on and off button on the remote pretty quickly if needed.
The speakers have a "matrix" mode that simulates surround sound for material that was recorded in stereo. It works OK, but it's not a substitute for true Dolby Digital 5.1 movies.
The satellites are nice looking and have removeable covers so you could take off the black cover and have silver-face speakers if you want.
