Fast Card
Strengths: High clock rate, good performance, decent price/performance
Weakness: Power consumption, only 256MB
I picked up this card to go along with an ASUS motherboard with the EPU-6 engine that reduces system power when you aren't taxing the system. That functionality is nice, especially since this card has a fairly high clock rate on the GPU. The fan on the GPU is nearly as big as the one on my CPU. Compared with the other ASUS graphics cards in the 8600 series, this one has the highest clock rate, and needs the cooling. For when I don't need the performance, its nice to be able to reduce the frequency and power consumption using the EPU software. After rebate, this card can be purchased for a very reasonable price considering the performance. For some gamers, more video memory might be needed, but 256MB has been satisfactory for what I have tried.
