M-audio 1814/ amazingly great-could be better still

Strengths: Great price/performance/ runs Protools as well as everything else

Weakness: Can't access adat and spdif digital ins and outs at same time--some other interfaces allow this

Great sound, extremely flexable. Software control panel is a bit confusing, but does nice things once you figure it out. After having used a Motu 828, I took it for granted the unit would allow the use of I/O for spdif and adat both at the same time---but it's "either/or". (U can use either digital in format or either out format----not both in/out formats at once). Still, a great sounding portable unit at a great price. I would recommend!
