life should be shuffled

Strengths: Price, ON/OFF switch ensures long battery life, no screen to protect, clip is very effective

Weakness: headphones are good quality but never stay in my ears, could be waterproof

I've been with Ipod's since the beginning: The Original, The Mini, The Nano, and now The Shuffle. I have loved every one of my little aluminum pods, but i have always found myself using the shuffle feature on my ipods and computers. Chance is the pure beauty of this player, simplification of function and need. This is not the 160 gig storage device, this is the music player for the user that actually listens to their music. Personally i decided to buy this Ipod for four reasons: 1] the clip can go anywhere, clip to almost any part of you visibly or hidden. 2] you can play straight order from your playlist or random. 3] power, headphones and syncing ALL use the same port. 4] on/off switch ensures your battery doesn't run out while its accidentally playing in your backpack or pocket. You wont regret buy this Ipod, i love mine now if only waterproofing came standard instead of it costing $100 online this design would be flawless.

iPod shuffle 2nd Generation 1GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Cheap, small size, great sound and especially suitable for sports.

Weakness: Battery time was not as long as Apple promises.

Actually it was my second Apple ipod shuffle. I just bought one three months ago. It was a really good deal. It was amazing that such a small electronic can have a wonderful sound. And it was very light that you can easily hook it on your clothing. My girl friend likes it so much that she asked me to buy a new one for her. That's the reason I bought this one here.

iPod shuffle 2nd Generation 1GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Small package, great sound, easy to use, inexpensive.

Weakness: No screen

This size makes it ideal to use while exercising. It is light weight and small. The clip hooks tightly to your clothing so it won't come off while jogging or working out. The sound is typical for iPod - which is really good for such a small electronic gadget. The lack of screen takes some getting used to, but the point of purchasing the shuffle is the size or you can just buy a regular iPod. The price also makes this one a good deal. There are more shuffle options than the older version shuffle. You can shuffle the songs in a different order just by flicking a button. Each time you sync with itunes, the order of songs shuffles so you don't hear your songs in the same order each time. Battery time isn't the 12 hours Apple promises, but it is close and it depends on how often you push the buttons.

For the price how can you go wrong?

Strengths: Designed small, lightweight, sturdy clip for exercising, stylish, better headphones than Apple's previous attempt

Weakness: Battery life slightly less than "promised" (but still quite good)

For $47 (with at least one merchant) how can you can go wrong with the Shuffle? I bought it for my nightly jogs around the park, and it's exactly what I wanted.

The small design clips nicely onto my running shirt. It's an excellent design, very compact and sturdy. It's a touch heavy, so it barely tugs at the edge of the fabric on my shirt. But it is so tiny I almost forget it's there most of the time.

I own three other (larger, click-wheel) iPods so I was skeptical of the controls on the Shuffle. But the buttons are intuitive and user-friendly.

Sound, as mentioned in other reviews, is vibrant for such a small package. The bass isn't heavy and the treble isn't super high, of course, but overall it's good. The headphones, which look like a redesign from previous Apple headphones packaged with iPods, provide slightly better sound and fit my ears better. I prefer to use a pair of Sennheiser Earbud 300s for greater sound quality, but for exercising the Apple-provided phones are good because I don't have to worry about ruining them.

Battery life is never what's promised, but I've been getting 10-11 hours per charge, which is fine. Also, as one reviewer pointed out there is no USB port, so if I lose this docking station I'll have to buy a new one.

In the end, for this price how can you go wrong? This makes a wonderful present for anyone because it's stylish, useful, and isn't too pricey.

IPOD 1GB Shuffle

Strengths: Excellent size. Good sound for a small device

Weakness: No window to review what's playing

This is an excellent unit for it's price. I also have a 80gb IPOD which obviously does a lot more but for jogging, walking and exercising in general this unit is perfect.

Since it has an internal "Flash Drive" instead of a mini hard drive it is less prone to failure so it's perfect for exercising.

It's small, light weight with a clip to attach to clothing.

I highly recommend it for the person on the go.

Excellent Basic MP3 Player

Strengths: Sleek design, very intuitive controls

Weakness: none

This is an excellent MP3 Player, for me the best compromise between size, easy of use and capacity (1GB).

The controls are definitely simple and VERY easy to use. Some people complain that it lacks a display screen; believe me: you are going to miss it initially, but you will soon get used to not having it and realize that you don't really need the display.

Apple is by far the leader in the MP3 player market, in my opinion. With the new lower prices for this player, it is certainly the best bang for your bucks in the segment.

ipod shuffle 1gb

Strengths: design and weight

Weakness: none

ipod shuffle has a unique design and customary apple ipod user interface. the colors are hot, mine being the silver. it seems apple has committed itself to make the device more appealing to the average user by lowering the cost. one really can not go wrong with this device. it is light, functional, easy to use and simple.

iPod shuffle 2nd Generation 1GB MP3 Player - Silver

Strengths: compact, delicate, high-qualified music effect, high performance-price ratio

Weakness: battery life,no display

This type of ipod MP3 player is the smallest one among all the ipod products, which is portable and delicate. Although it is compact, the music effect is perfect. In addition, its price is so competitive that it is definitely the first choice of music fans.

perfect music companion everywhere

Strengths: small size and lightweight, hip design, delivers what it is for

Weakness: earphones included, no more built in usb

perfect music player for gym. i use it everyday and everywhere. so small and very lightweight, easily clips on your shirt or pockets and you will hardly notice it's there. sound is ok though the earphones that came with the ipod is subpar. It's ok since I have a better set of earphones. it's rare to have a music player smaller than the earphones, but it's really nice carrying it everywhere. The autofill feature with itunes is just a great tool to put in all your music. My only problem is that you need to carry a separate cable to sync your music. I miss the built-in usb in shuffle gen1. If there's an improvement needed for gen3, then i'd say it's the built in usb. otherwise, this product is perfect.

Apple iPod Shuffle (third generation, 1GB, silver)

THE GOOD: The competitively priced iPod Shuffle has a dead-simple user interface with satisfying tactile controls, and its integrated belt clip provides a handy way to keep track of the player. The Shuffle is available in five, metallic colors, and the package includes a cute little syncing cradle. THE BAD: The iPod Shuffle has no screen, so theres no way to navigate easily among artists, albums,...
