i love the ipod shuffle

Strengths: light and has built in clip

Weakness: doesn't hold enough music

I love the ipod shuffle for working out and travel. You can organize your songs into a playlist that you control from your PC/Mac and you can also shuffle all the songs

Ipod shuffle 2nd generation 1gb mp3 player

Strengths: Small size and light-weight. Not expensive. It can hold more than 200 songs which is good enough for me to use for morning exercise. Easy song loading process.

Weakness: no screen which makes finding songs difficult

I chose this ipod shuffle because it's less expensive (the price is around $50). I used it in my morning exercise by clipping it on my belt and found that it's user friendly. 1gb capacity is good enough to satisify my usage. It's small in size and light-weight. It loads songs easily. In addition, it has different colors to choose from and I like the bright lime one.

Because this ipod shuffle doesn't have a screen, finding songs becomes difficult. I will need to search songs by list order. However, if it has a screen, it becomes ipod nano which will be more expensive. Overall, it is a good mps player with good cost-benefit ratio.

Good for jogging/exercise

Strengths: Plays music, syncs with itunes

Weakness: expensive

There is nothing wrong with the shuffle, it is not made to be the primary dap and is at its most usefulness when doing cardio exercise. The clip-on stays securely in place and it is light enough to not be a drag.
The headphone cord can get in the way, but is not a deal breaker. I am tempted to try one of the bluetooth headphones.
The only real criticism is that it is expensive. For the same price, I could have gotten a Creative Stone with twice the memory- or a 1gb Stone for $20 less. Having since tried the Stone, music fidelity is just as good with 3rd party headphone (I use Shure in-ear phones).

Size and weight are the selling points

Strengths: Small and lightweight. Makes the perfect Mp3 player for the gym or road-running. I love the virtual weightlessness.

Weakness: It is a real pain to translate all your music from WMA to itunes.

At $49 the Shuffle is worth the cost especially if you have a music library built for an iPod (no need to install new music software and build a collection for another brand's mp3 player).

Apple iPod Shuffle (third generation, 1GB, green)

THE GOOD: The competitively priced iPod Shuffle has a dead-simple user interface with satisfying tactile controls, and its integrated belt clip provides a handy way to keep track of the player. The Shuffle is available in five, metallic colors, and the package includes a cute little syncing cradle. THE BAD: The iPod Shuffle has no screen, so theres no way to navigate easily among artists, albums,...
