Iogear Wireless Hub Fails to Perform as Advertised

Strengths: Once it is actually connected, some plug and play devices do perform as expected.

Weakness: Range and limited device compatibility.

Iogear attempted to create a user friendly wireless networking device with this USB hub and adapter. Unfortunately, its failings make the product more of a pain than it is worth. It is packaged with very few instructions which makes the user assume very little knowledge is necessary to set up the product. This is very far off the mark.

While it does respond to some devices well like thumb or external hard drives it also is not readily compatible with all printers. My simpler photo printer seems to work fine, but the all in one HP does not respond due to the Iogear software improperly interacting with the print driver.

Solutions suggested by Iogear include unplugging the wireless transmitter, receiver, and printer. Also, reloading the print driver can produce positive results, but the process of doing all of this repeatedly when attempting to use the product consumes much more time than the convenience it attempts to provide.

I suggest waiting until Iogear works the bugs on this one out before pulling the trigger.
