Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset with...

Strengths: The directions for setting it up (for me Vista) were clear and simple. The headset worked on first effort. No problems. I have enjoyed the quality of sound and fit.

Weakness: If it could have an easier way to keep the extra cord stored so it would't get in the way when moving that would be a plus.

I liked the in line-audio control and the way the head set fits. I have enjoyed using my newly aquired product, and find it a very good product for the price. I recommend it for the average mome user. For a gammer, perhaps something a bit more sophiticated would be required.

Logitech USB Clearchat

Strengths: Easy to setup, In-line audio controls

Weakness: Average sound quality

I have been using this headset with Skype, particularly during traveling. The setup is really easy. USB connectivity is helpful as the sound quality is certainly better as compared to line-in and microphone separate headsets. For online gamers, audio quality may not be up to the mark.

Doesn't live up to its name

Strengths: None

Weakness: Comfort, no unplugging USB audio devices

Well, this USB widget is kind of a disappointment. It purports to be a comfortable headset for things like audio messaging, gaming, or even for use just as a set of headphones. It looks nice in the package, but once in your hands the shortcomings become clear.

For starters, the device is made out of a somewhat flexible plastic. There aren't any problems actually getting it on, and it does stay on your head firmly, but the plastic seems to be of the variety that might snap with use over time.

The headphones themselves are not uncomfortable, but it does seem like they might start to get a little unbearable with long-term use. The ear pads and head band are made of some kind of leather or leather-like material, and after only a few minutes of use, your ears will begin to sweat.

Sound quality listening to music and voice was good but not exceptional. The inline volume and mute control is a little odd-shaped, but it does the job. The biggest problem, however, and the one feature that would seem to make this a nice offering is the USB interface.

Absolutely no drivers are required. Plug the ClearChat Comfort USB into a USB port, and it enumerates in Windows 2000 or XP as three USB devices: composite, HID (human interface device), and audio. No drivers are needed. Unfortunately, the USB interface means you can never unplug it! You cannot use the "Safely Remove Hardware" system tray icon to unplug the device, and if you unplug it while in use, whatever application is using it will freeze.

In order to switch between the ClearChat Comfort USB headset and a set of speakers, for example, you have to go into the Sound control panel and change the preferred audio playback and record devices, an entirely unfriendly procedure. This is really a Windows problem, but it just means that USB is not a suitable interface for audio devices that are normally unplugged when not in use.

Headsets that use standard audio jacks are still the best bet, even though USB promises a simpler interface and potentially better sound quality. Logitech's ClearChat Style headset goes with the standard 1/8" input (microphone) and output (headphone) jacks, is actually more comfortable to wear, and less expensive to boot.

Great Headset for chat online

Strengths: sound quality is good enough for skype. very easy to use just plug it in. comfortable to use. long enough cord.

Weakness: a little tight, so start felling uncomfortable after using two hours. poor sound isolation, I think others can hear I can hear.

I bought both this and the pro one. this is very similar to the clear chat pro, unless there is no light for the mute and not so comfortable. But this is cheaper. I would recommond this compared to the pro one

Good Headset

Strengths: Plug-and-play, comfortable, 8-foot long cord, good voice sound quality

Weakness: Bulky, only okay for listening to music

I bought this headset to use with Skype on my PowerBook, and to that end, it works perfectly. According to people I've talked to while using the headset, it greatly improves the sound quality on their end compared to when I was using the PowerBook's internal microphone. On my end, the sound quality is excellent.

For listening to music, however, this headset is only adequate. The sound is clearly inferior to that of my Koss KSC-75 headphones. Comparatively, the music sounds a bit muffled with the Logitech. The high end isn't as clear.

The 8-foot-long cable has its advantages and disadvantages. The length is more than adequate to ensure I don't accidentally get up and pull my computer off the table, but like any cable, the extra length just gets in the way most of the time. Generally, though, I'd rather have a long cord than one that's too short.

Great Headset with microphone at a very reasonable...

Strengths: Lightweight, comfortable

Weakness: headphones could be little bigger to cover a little more

I have been using this for last one week and I am very happy with the performance of this headset. Since it is a USB one, so there is only one cable for both headphone and microphone. It is very lightweight so I feel very comfortable even after a few hours of usage. I would really recommend this for everyone who needs a comfortable headset with microphone that need to be used for longer period in one stretch.

Great headset

Strengths: Very comfortable Great sound Buttons are useful on wire

Weakness: After a while my ear started to hurt, but not bad.

This is a great headset. I have not owned many, but this one seems very comfortable and it was relatively inexpensive. I am glad that I chose this one because I do not think others would be as comfortable. I highly recommend this headset to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive headset. I would say it is worth the extra money over the cheap ones.

Decent headset

Strengths: Comfortables feel to the ears. Good microphone.

Weakness: USB connector, rather than the audio jack.

A headset with a USB connection to the PC mean that, when you talk on Skype, you cannot use the microphone of the headset and simultaneously listen to the other person in the speakers. It is either microphone+headphones or speakers without the microphone. That is, others next to you cannot hear the other person and participate in the Skype conversation. I wish I realized this MAJOR inconvenience of USB headsets before I bought this one. I wonder if this is the case for all USB headsets or just this one.

The sound quality is good. The microphone does a very good job managing sound volume and avoids background noises when used in Skype. The position of the microphone is right. The headset can be worn for at least two hours comfortably. It pushes on top of my head a bit too much (as another reviewer mentioned), but the contact with my ears is nice,- and I wear glasses.
