It's OK...

Strengths: Looks good, bluetooth, power switch, easily paired. Mouse wheel feels solid.

Weakness: Heavy - uses 2 AA Batteries, has movement lag, Not as quick and responsive as the Logitech VX Nano, no forward/back buttons, Cheap plastic feel.

After a month of using my Logitech VX Nano that I purchased back in December on my new Apple Macbook Pro, I decided an extra open USB port is more important than the nano receiver taking up a precious USB port. That being said, I purchased the Logitech v470 and boy, what a difference in mice.

Weight & feel:
First of all, the VX Nano uses 2 AAA batteries stacked on top of each other and is considerably lighter than the v470. Also the VX Nano has nice rubber grips on the side and is a bit shorter than the v470. The AA batteries in the v470 are placed in the back in a V shape making it back-heavy (not saying it's a bad thing, just feels different). The V470 (white) has cheap feeling plastic sides but fits in larger hands nicely.

Tracking:
The tracking on the V470 has a noticeable lag on wake (for those of you that have used the older BT Apple Wireless mice will know this) and likes to jump 100-500 pixels across the screen in the direction you move the mouse, a real pain in the butt for Adobe CS users or gamers. I have this same problem in Bootcamp running WinXP as I do in OS X 10.5.
For those of you that already own a V470, try waiting a few seconds without moving the mouse, then move it a few inches, its going to jump every time. Please if anyone has a fix to turn off the "Power Saving Feature" in the mouse let me know, I'd love to hear it.

I can't speak about battery life on the V470 just yet, but the VX Nano's batteries lasted me 4 months on moderate to heavy use.

So if you have a notebook, or desktop that is bluetooth enabled, I would recommend investing the $10-20 more in the Logitech VX Nano, of course thats if you don't mind your precious USB port being used.

Logitech V470 - Far superior to Mighty Mouse

Strengths: Easy Set-up (with macs), no receiver, decent notebook mouse size

Weakness: comes with a cheaply-made bag

I bought this mouse as a bluetooth mouse for my new macbook. After reading horrible reviews for the bluetooth Mighty Mouse, and after having used a logitech usb mouse for 2 years, I had good reason to try a logitech bluetooth mouse. The white v470 matches well with the macbook, and it is a breeze to set up with OS X 10.5 (leopard). The signal is strong, and the response time is good (there is a slight lag going from sleep mode if you try to wake up the computer with your mouse, as it takes a second for the computer to recognize the bluetooth mouse) but otherwise, service is contact and strong.

I like that you can turn off the mouse (there is an on/off switch), and like that it is reasonable small (not tiny, but not too big for my rather small hand). Sadly, the battery meter indicator doesn't work in leopard. bonus is that the side-to-side scrolling does work (not as a fluid as Mighty Mouse, but better than my old usb logitech mouse).

I don't know the model of my old logitech mouse, but it was the usb version that looks like the v270.

Logitech V470 Review

Strengths: small, portable, bluetooth, smooth on all surfaces

Weakness: no back button, slight lag at the beginning

Overall, it's pretty decent - very portable, battery lasts forever, and smooth movements. It does what it does. Has an on/off switch to conserve battery.

However, the biggest drawback is the lack of a back button and of course the lag in the beginning of use. The lag can't be helped since it's bluetooth (and probably because it goes into some kind of standby mode to conserve the battery).

I would recommend it for the price I paid $25AR. If it costs anymore than that - look to the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 since it has back/forward buttons.

Good replacement for Mighty Mouse

Strengths: Small size, laser tracking, side scrolling

Weakness: Doesn't stay consistently connected with MacBook (OS 10.5/Leopard)

I decided to get this mouse out of frustration with 3 (yes THREE) Mighty Mouse scroll wheels going bad. No more dealing with Apple mice for me, even though the idea was great and they matched my white MacBook well.

So I found this Logitech Bluetooth Laser Mouse and it generally fits the bill. I was looking for something a bit bigger for my large hands, nevertheless, it's still comfortable. I'm happy that the scroll wheel is good, and the tilt wheel allows for easy side scrolling. I haven't had any tracking problems with it and it paired easily to my MacBook without installing any drivers. I really didn't want any mouse with extraneous buttons on it so the two "clickers" and the scroll wheel were perfect for me.

The only reason I'm knocking the mouse down a star is that it constantly wakes up my screen that's sleeping when the bluetooth connectivity is lost after 20 minutes or so of inactivity from the mouse. Perhaps this is Apple's fault (not liking to talk with non-Apple hardware), nevertheless, it's annoying. Perhaps I could resolve this by installing the Logitech software, but I'm not in the mood to install any additional background processes and mess up the Mac.

All in all, a good product, and highly recommended over the Mighty Mouse in all cases.

Great Bluetooth Notebook Mice at a Great Price!

Strengths: Solid construction, size, bluetooth, price

Weakness: Batteries are not recheargable (although you could use rechearagble AA batteries if you wish); connection ocassionally drops.

I bought the Logitech V470 because I had on-board bluetooth on my new laptop and I wanted a wireless mouse which could connect to my laptop without any USB recievers. The logitech V470 perfectly fit this goal. I simply installed the included Logitech SetPoint software and had my bluetooth card search for the mouse. Once the mouse was discovered and paired, it worked flawelessly. Ocassionally however, I would loose connection and mouse pointer behaved a little eratically. The battery life is alos amazing - I have been using this litte mouse for about 30 days now for approximately 6 hours a day, and the battery is still great. My only wish was logitech should have included rechargeable batteries with the unit, however, purchasing these yourself shouldn't be a problem. In sum, Logitech has produced a winner with this product. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Logitech V470 Bluetooth Mouse (White) is fantastic!

Strengths: - great shape to fit hand - no useless mouse buttons - quality build

Weakness: - blue version has rubber grip

This mouse is everything that bluetooth mice in the past weren't. Many people complain about how other bt mice have connection issues or the mice like to "fall asleep" and take a while to reconnect. The V470 experiences no such issues and the connection is as smooth as butter.

Setup is easy and Windows automatically detects the mouse and installs it. The mouse has a useful tilt wheel that I like to use to browse spreadsheets, and you can even customize all the buttons to do various functions via the Logitech SetPoint software. 5 STARS! *****

Logitech V470 Blue Cordless Laser Mouse 5 STARS!!

Strengths: 1. quality construction 2. contoured shape to fit hand 3. rubber grip on sides of mouse 4. easy set-up

Weakness: None!

This mouse is absolutely perfect. It fits perfectly in the hand and the Bluetooth connection is very solid without problems whatsoever. Setting the mouse up is a total breeze as Windows can recognize the mouse easily and install it without any additional drivers software. This mouse "only" has 2 buttons and the wheel, but the tilt wheel is useful if you want to reconfigure the tilting with the Logitech software to do back and forward functions on your internet browser. All in all, this mouse is great.

Logitech V470

Strengths: Small size, Comfortable, Good signal strength, Bluetooth

Weakness: A little expensive

This is a very nice, comfortable mouse for laptops. It feels very good in hand and performs flawlessly. The battery indicator is a nice touch as well. Lack of back and forward buttons is disappointing.

Excellent Bluetooth Notebook Mouse!

Strengths: Accurate reads, no slowdowns, good battery life, fits well in your hand

Weakness: None so far!

Its been the only bluetooth mouse I've used so far, but it operates just as well as any corded mouse I've owned! It comes in a "travel size", but none too small to make it uncomfortable on your hand. Battery life is exceptional, especially with the included On/Off switch capabilities.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse

Strengths: Sleek and compact, no receiver, battery indicator, side to side scrolling plus zoom

Weakness: none

Snugly fits in palm, very comfortable, comes with its own small storage bag and 2AA batteries, ready to use out of the box. Works with both PC/MAC. Have been using for 3 days now and no problems whatsoever.

V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks

Strengths: size

Weakness: none yet

I got this for my imac and installed in a snap. Was debating whether or not to install the Logitech control center but after installing it was able to fine tune certain features such as what pushing down on the scroll wheel does. Very very cool being able to bring up the dashboard or expose by doing this. Love this mouse.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse Bluetooth White

Strengths: Small form, (2) AA batteries (also included), Bluetooth, reliable Logitech, Laser, side scrolling capabilities, on/off button, looks very professional.

Weakness: There is no additional buttons for going forward or back (web surfing). The cover says "designed for macs".

This bluetooth mouse is perfect for laptop users that have built-in bluetooth technology. I have a XPS M1330 with Vista and it detected on first try, no software needed. Just installed automatically (I also have a MX1000 wireless mouse installed and it seems that they share the same software, which was already installed on my laptop). It comes with 2 double A batteries and a carry case to protect it. I found it nice to have the side scroll capabilities on a portable mouse. It lacks forward and back buttons for web browsing. The laser technology is very precise and works great. I tried lower voltage rechargeable batteries and it works fine. There is also a slight lag when you first move it (from idling). It is very slight, nothing to worry about. The mouse color is two-toned, it has a border silver lining around the base and the top is a shiny/glossy white texture. I also found the off/on button very useful. The battery compartment is well-made. There was no problems replacing batteries. The led in the middle of the mouse is blue (just if you were curious). Overall it is a great mouse and well-worth it (Paid $20 AR).

Very nice

Strengths: Very easy to set up in Vista. No lag under normal use. Works perfect with Dell's internal Truemobile 355 module. I've had zero connection issues. The white/Silver matches my E1505 perfectly!

Weakness: Smaller than I would have liked. Tilt wheel click is a little firm for my taste.

I really like this mouse. It is the best BlueTooth mouse that I have used. I do not notice any lag under normal use. There is the slightest lag when you first touch the mouse after not using it for a while and I do mean VERY slight as in a blink of the eye. I do not game on my laptop, so I cannot comment on how it preforms in games. The laser tracking is great. I've used it on a lot of different surfaces and have not had any issues. It was VERY easy to set up in Vista. You don't have to install the setpoint software for basic mouse function. But I did install the SetPoint software because I wanted the tilt wheel to be forward and back buttons instead of side scroll. The setpoint software is really bloated for what it is, but it is a necessary evil if you want to customize the buttons. I've also read that the mouse has fewer connection issues when the setpoint software is installed. I have not had any issues with connection on cold boot, when waking from sleep or when waking from hibernation.

The v470 is smaller than my V450 that it is replacing. I like the size of the v450 better, it just feels better in my hand. I also miss the rubber grip sides of the v450. The v470 feels cheaper than the v450. But even with it's smaller size, the V470 is still comfortable enough to use all day. If you travel a lot the smaller size of the v470 might be a benefit.

Final thoughts:
Even with the few negatives, the v470 is well worth the $21 (after rebate) I paid for it. I love not having a dongle sticking out the side of my laptop just waiting to be bumped, bent or broken. I DO NOT think it is worth the MSRP ($50) or the normal price at most vendors ($40), but for around $20, it's a bargain.

VZ470 Wireless Mouse

Strengths: Size, smoothness, bluetooth

Weakness: None

I was pleasantly surprised at the smooth operation of this bluetooth mouse, There wer no hesitation or connection issues; no indication of interference from the Wifi running on the associated laptop. The included software allows the left-right push of the scroll button to be programmed as "backwards/forwards". There was also no problem with the laptops touchpad, which worked fine when the mouse was turned off. Highly recommended if you have bluetooth, and want a cordless mouse that uses no USB connectors.

Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Bluetooth | White

The Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Bluetooth is a cordless laser mouse that connects to Windows and Macintosh computers via Bluetooth wireless technology. It was released after the M555b as a more colorful, albeit less-featured cousin. It trades in its predecessor’s Hyper-fast scrolling in favor of side-to-side scrolling, which lets users scroll side-to-side or zoom in/out with a...
