Nice camcorder for the money

Strengths: cheap, light weight, easy to use

Weakness: video quality is ok, but not great

Overall I am happy with this product. I needed a camcorder that was simple to use as a gift for my mother. After alittle research, I decided on this Samsung. It is very easy to use, I love the fact that it uses SD video cards and has few moving parts to break. The battery lasts 2 hours and unlike several other models from other manufacturers, it comes with all the required cables, there was nothing else to buy.

Decent flash memory camcorder

Strengths: Easy to use, 34X Optical zoom, good image stabilization, battery life.

Weakness: Auto focus on moving vehicles, no snapshot function.

I mainly purchased this for taking videos while on my motorcycles. It does a decent job and image stabilizer handles most vibrations well. However, the auto focus appeared to have some difficulty when on a moving motorcycle. When taking hand held videos, the videos are much more focused and clear. Battery life is excellent and lasts enough to record almost a full 8GB SDHC card. For the money, it's a good camcorder. I'm sure YouTubers will love it.

Samsung SC-MX10 SD/SDHC/MMC Camcorder

Strengths: Small and easy to use. Menu and zoom are very functional. Great range on zoom. Flash memory makes an excellent recording medium. 2.7 screen easy to read. Low cost and high value.

Weakness: Videos not great at very low light (rated at 3 lux). If you need very low light recording, you might think about another camera. Editing software is average.

Overall a great little camera with a multitude of functions. A very good optical zoom range. Battery lasts two hours and lets you know how many minutes left. Price is very reasonable and quality of videos very good. Think about getting the SC-MX10A or the SC-MX10AU which has the 4 GB built-in memory. This comes in very handy for 1 hour recording time. Flash memory compatible from 1 GB to 8 GB on SDHC. My 12 yr old daughter takes great videos and uses it for a web cam also. This one is a good deal.
