Great optical and battery-hassle-free mouse

Strengths: no batteries or charge required!!, wireless, smooth, cool looking

Weakness: limited mobility, no custom buttons

Great optical mouse.

+ cursor and wheel are very smooth, clicks are responsive and mouse fits nicely into the palm of the hand. cool colors and design as well.

+ wireless so no cable sticking out of the mouse and getting stuck under the keyboard or screen

+ no need to recharge or change batteries!

- No extra/customizable buttons (for hardcore gamers).

- freedom of movement is limited. the mouse MUST be over the mat which is connected to the pc by a medium to short USB cable

- instructions warn about placing the mat at least 20 inches from the screen to avoid interference. I have not followed this instruction and never experienced any problem though

A4Tech A4TECH Battery Free Wireless USB Optical...

Strengths: Works well. Smooth. Nice to look at. No lag.

Weakness: A little small. Wheel located too much to the center. Would prefer the mouse pad to be "landscape orientation" instead of "portrait orientation" and larger.

All in all, I'm satisfied with my purchase. The device worked as advertised, and I believe I got my money's worth.

At rest, the mouse lights up and after a while, blinks rapidly. The light becomes brighter on movement. It is stylish, black colored, and looks quite cool.

The mouse doesn't work without the supplied pad. If the mouse is taken away from it's pad more than about an inch, the power light on the pad blinks and the mouse doesn't work. I can put another mouse pad over the supplied mouse pad, and the mouse still works.

After a month of very frequent use, there is no sign of wear and tear. Unlike other wireless mice I've used, there is no discernable lag between physically moving the mouse and seeing the resultant movement on the screen.

If the mouse and the pad were larger, I would consider it my ideal mouse.

A4Tech Wireless Battery-Free Optical Mouse

The battery-free mouse comes in two flavours: the NV30 and the NV50 (this review sample is the NV30). It has two buttons and a scroll-wheel/third button. The NV50 is its 5-button big sister.
