Great Upgrade!

Strengths: Increase in laptop performance.

Weakness: None so far.

I used this memory to upgrade my hp dv9500t laptop from 2GB to 4GB. It installed easily and was immediately recognized by the system. I have noted a marked increase in performance--programs and applications load faster and memory intensive projects are completed more quickly. I have had no problems with this item and the lifetime warranty is fantastic. A great upgrade!

Great RAM Upgrade

Strengths: Works as advertised, no problems. Awesome alternative to overpriced memory upgrade on pre-configured and built-to-order systems.

Weakness: Only CAS 5 latency, but that's the case with most notebook memory and you'll never notice anyhow

Works great in Dell Vostro 1500. RAM only runs at DDR-667 due to motherboard limitations, but I was expecting this.

The price differential on this memory and true DDR-667 was close enough that it was worth trying. Plus, I can always swap the RAM into a faster machine if I upgrade later.

Memory Performance score in Windows Vista went from 4.5 to 4.8, although that may have been due in part to having only 1GB of memory before upgrading.

This is my third OCZ memory purchase and all have performed like champs. OCZ has come through with another winner!

Works flawlessly

Strengths: 4GB, DDR2-800 PC2-6400 modules

Weakness: Requires 64-bit operating system to utilize all 4GB

What can I say...ram is ram. Plugged these two modules into my laptop and was running with 4GB within 2 minutes of receiving delivery. Passed memtest for 20 hours+ without trouble.

As for timings, CPU-Z reports the following:
DDR2-540 @ 3-4-4-10
DDR2-667 @ 4-5-5-13
DDR2-800 @ 5-5-5-15

4GB for under $80

Strengths: price, 800mhz, 4gb

Weakness: none

This is the first I install 4gb memory on my laptops. First I tried it on the Sony VAIO FZ190, Vista only recognize 3gb. Then I tried it on the Dell Vostro 1500, Vista recognize 3.8gb which is very impressive. I can tell the difference in speed from 2gb to 4gb immediately. The installation is easy and straight forward and however both systems can only recognize it as 667mhz and the bios setting is unavailable on my laptops. Overall, $80 for 4gb is well worth it, given dell is charging $400 for a 4gb upgrade.

OCZ 4GB PC2-6400 DDR2 SODIMM Memory.

Strengths: Price, maximum memory for almost all laptops, quality, and lifetime warranty.

Weakness: None so far.

The price of memory has been dropping pretty steadily for quite some time now, so I decided it was time for me to buy.

I installed this memory the first day that I received it and there were no problem whatsoever. Setup was as easy as removing the back cover of my laptop and replacing the previous memory I had in their with the new OCZ memory. My laptop was brand new and originally only had 1 GB of memory. With this jump to 4GB I noticed a huge increase in overall performance with most applications. Even though my laptop runs at 667MHz it had no problem running the 800MHz at the slower speed.

Shop around and use pricegrabber's tools to find yourself the best deal as prices vary. I've always use OCZ memory for desktops in the past and I was very happy with this purchase for my laptop.

OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400 800MHz DDR2 SO-DIMM Memory

Strengths: Very stable. Tested over 24 hours on Memtest86+ and no error.

Weakness: A bit pricey in certain e-stores. Some earlier matched sticks are known to cause error (like BSOD, difficulty booting out of BIOS, etc.).

OCZ is a really reliable company. This is my 3rd purchase on OCZ RAM because of my trust in the company. If you go to OCZ's official forums, it is known that some earlier matched sticks of this particular model (OCZ2M8004GK) cause BSOD in Windows and BIOS errors (probably a bad batch). It quickly got phased out so it should be no problem now. I tested my set with Memtest86+ for over 24 hours and it was error-free.

OCZ can be a bit expensive when no rebate is offered, but you buy with the assurance that they will actually help you if you require aid. They have a superb forum at: www.ocztechnologyforum... where the mods and admins will quickly answer your questions. The latency setting is 5-5-5-15 at 800, but if you run at 667, it's actually at a slightly faster latency (4-5-5-13).

Overall, I really enjoyed the product. 4GB of RAM won't technically speed up your computer; what it does is makes everything run smoother, so it is perceived as "faster." The extra RAM is really noticeable when gaming since more will be dependent on RAM than on hard drive.

very fast, highly compatible

Strengths: cheap compatible

Weakness: no weaknesses

works great in my compaq presario as well as my t61p, even though both of them are spec'ed for pc2-5300. OCZ has the best customer support as well. you can't go wrong with this upgrade. Note that Vista 32 bit and XP both cannot fully utilize 4gb of RAM -- depending on your system, you'll see either 3gb or 3.5gb display (and used) by the OS.

2x2GB DDR2-800 Laptop Memory

Strengths: 800Mhz Speed.

Weakness: None

After reading so many reviews that say that they can't run this memory at 800Mhz. speed, I was surprised that my laptop with Turion runs this memory at 800Mhz. I ran my laptop's memory tests for hours, and it did not give a single error.
Unfortunately Windows XP cannot see all the 4GB, but still it was worth buying this since there is not much price difference between this one and a 3GB one. I have not see any problems with this memory so far.

OCZ PC2-6400 SO-DIMM memory (4GB)

Strengths: pro: good price, easy to install, very speedy

Weakness: not all 4GBs are recognized

works perfect in the new laptop. Easy to install and it's one of the fastest memories which can be found in the market. The 800MHz front bus speed and dual channel gives excellent performance under windows. Besides, OCZ is a reliable company, the build quality is great, as well as their lifetime warranty and customer support. However, Not all 4GB memories are recognized, but this is the problem for all 32-bit systems rather than the memory itself. Using a 64-bit system will avoid this issue.

Best deal in town most laptops not able to use 800...

Strengths: its OCZ with lifetime warranty, best value for price, built strong

Weakness: none so far

I just installed this 4 GB (2X2) on my dell XPS m1330, tested memory for error by MemTest 86+ (www.memtest.org/#downi...) passed with flying colors. It's capable to 800 MHz speed, my dell has SantaRosa Platfor and P965 chip but as far as I can findout looks like Dell has locked speed to 667 MHz it worked at that speed quite well.
I will try to contact dell XPS support to see if I can unleash this hidden power of my new RAM

OCZ 4GB PC6400 DDR2 SODIMM

Strengths: Lifetime Warranty, Price, Excellent Tech Support, Easy to Install

Weakness: None

I upgraded my new Sony VAIO notebook computer to the full 4GB for best MS Vista performance. Installation was easy and the performance increase was significant. Prior to purchase I checked the OCZ website to confirm compatibility and after entering the info about my Sony notebook computer there was no compatible memory listed as being available. A quick call to OCZ tech support and a voice mail advised of a heavy call load but also suggested the best way to contact them for quick response was by email from their website. So I quickly wrote an email and within 3 hours had a very personable and friendly response informing me the memory was fully compatible. For the price and the lifetime warranty and great tech support response I highly recommend this OCZ product

Good memory!

Strengths: Straightforward installation.

Weakness: None that I can tell

This memory was perfectly compatible with my laptop, as it should have been. No problem at all installing it. Memory is basically a commodity; the price for these was right. No complaints.
