D-Link DUB-H4 4 Port High Speed USB 2.0 HubStrengths: Some devices work fine. Weakness: Does not work with Linksys usb200ha. I have 4 usb devices to plug into this hub. One of the 4, a linksys usb200ha home phone line network adapter, does not work in this hub. When you plug it into the hub, the hub port "overloads" and the hub must be power cycled to get the port back. In any case, the linksys does not work with the d-link hub. The linksys works fine when plugged into the pc. Also, the other usb devices, a usb powered zip drive, a liteon dvd/cdrw, and a keyspan serial adapter connected to a palm dock, all work fine with the d-link hub. Don't know why I am having trouble with the linksys/d-link combo. 81% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? TopAdvertisement

D-Link DUB-H4 4 Port High Speed USB 2.0 Hub
Strengths: Self powered, USB 2.0 speed!
Weakness: Nothing noted.
I currently hook up a 6 in 1 SanDisk card reader, Microsoft SideWinder Precision 2 joystick, HiTi PhotoShuttle printer, Logitech optical mouse and a Lexar JumpDrive using the D-Link hub and have had no problems at all! I'm running Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 4550.
The unit is self powered, meaning it doesn't rely on the computer's USB connection to power any peripherals connected to the hub. The power cord comes with a slim transformer "wall wart" that takes up room "side to side". This means that if you put it on a power strip that has the outlets stacked top to bottom (like a normal wall outlet), as opposed to side by side, it doesn't block other outlets! Nice!
The ports on this unit face forward which is convenient for connecting/disconnecting frequently used items such as a flash drive device. Consider a unit with ports on the rear if you want a more permanent setup. This may ease wire management woes.
The unit is rectangular which should make it easy to stack if you decide you need another one in the future. I'm considering buying another one for work.
