Excellent Value and Design

Strengths: Price, performance, relative silence.

Weakness: Weight reduces portability (bumpy car rides are ill advised).

This cooler is a huge improvement over my Thermaltake Volcano 11+. It is much quieter, and cools my CPU even more. After installation my motherboard temps dropped a little, as the design cools not only the CPU but it pushes air over the motherboard space surrounding the CPU. It also pushes air over my video card's heatsinks (I have the Zalman design cooler on my GPU also).

The weight isn't so much that it will damage your motherboard over time. It's more likely to affect the motherboard if you take it on a bumpy car ride and you have your case sitting upright. I basically put my case (LianLi V1000A Plus) on its side on top of a towel, so the fan, if forced downward, will go into the motherboard and not in any direction parallel to the motherboard. I also carry it this way, though I really think it's fine in any orientation unless you drop it.

It fits fine with my Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo even in my LianLi case. It has a 1-2 mm gap between it and the hard drive/psu panel. Over the past 5 months, this gap hasn't changed one bit, proving to me that a properly installed unit doesn't sway/drop over time.

Another great fan from Zalman!

Strengths: Copper, performance, ease of installation, quiet, fan speed controller included, everything else!

Weakness: Price, blue LED kinda weak.

This is an excellent fan from Zalman. The fan dropped my CPU temps about 7 degrees C at idle and load. The fan quickly lowers the temp of the CPU back to idle after load from gaming. The installation was quite simple, but it was dissappointing to have to take out the motherboard to install the fan, but it was well worth it. The blue LED is a little weak, but that's minor. Here is my setup:

Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu LED Processor Heatsink and...

Strengths: Flower design heat sink, all copper, clear blue LED fan, controllable fan speed.

Weakness: Cooler is a heavyweight (755g) which could cause stress on the motherboard, lower speed fan not ideal for overclockers, a little pricey.

This is in my opinion the best looking CPU heatsink and fan combo. The fan has controllable speed which is great for quiet PC enthusiasts. The flower heatsink is a bit large and might interfere with some of your nearby components. It is adaptable to a number of different socket configurations. It comes with all the necessary hardware and was very easy to install. I did not need the under the motherboard base for my 939 socket board since it already had one and did not come off. The blue LED fan looks great in the dark and matches my other blue LED case fans. I did not test difference in temperature but according to Zalman the Cu cooler keeps the CPU a few degrees cooler than the AlCu cooler.

Zalman CNPS7000B-CU LED CPU Cooler

Strengths: Awesome LED Light, Compatible with many types of sockets, controllable speeds, Quiet

Weakness: Heavy, LED could be brighter, had to break off the old mounting plate and replace with a new one included in the kit

This CPU cooler is very cool. It has a switch to control speeds to make it quieter. Although I was a little disappointed with the dimmer LED light it still will look cool once I add my UV lights to it. I also wasn't too happy to find out that I actaully had to snap off a bolted mounting plate on the back of the motherboard in order to install this. But, it looks great and I am satisfied. The motherboard that I am using is an "ASUS A8N-SLI Premium" so if you have this or the Deluxe edition, beware and/or know that you will have to break off a piece and that you probably won't be able to use another CPU cooler in the future unless you buy another one from Zalman.

Heatsink

Strengths: Keeps processor cool and neat LED light

Weakness: None

This heatsink is a very quiet and well performing unit. The blue LED light really adds to the effect of the heatsink and makes me case look really neat when illuminated.

Good, but heavy, cooler

Strengths: Solid copper cooler with excellent fan. Blue LEDs are nice touch.

Weakness: LEDs could be brighter. Heavy; no PC should be moved once this cooler is installed.

This is a great cooler for the price. The included FAN MATE 2 controller is useful for adjusting the speed of the fan. My motherboard temps dropped by 10 degrees on average. The drop in temperature on the processor was noticeable but not as much as I expected.

This is definitely worth getting for Socket 478 and AMD-equivalent CPUs; Core 2 Duos and quads may need something "stronger".

Awesome fan

Strengths: Great cooling ability, looks really cool, all cooper

Weakness: Very heavy, very large, must remove motherboard to install

I found this fan to be very impressive in its ability to cool my Athlon XP 3200+ with minimal fan speed. This cooler is very large and very heavy. If you plan to purchase this fan make sure you check your motherboards layout to see if it will fit.

Now that's one COOL cpu!

Strengths: It COOLS your cpu. It makes your cpu look COOL!

Weakness: Heavy, blue LED is WEAK compared to my Arctic Cooling Super Silent 4 Ultra TCL. CHECK THE SPECS on the mfg's website to make sure you have enough clearance on all sides. Must be screwed down HARD.

Someone else commented that you have to use a lot of FORCE when you screw the thing down on your mobo; don't doubt it. All the while I wondered if I was going to break something! Proceed slowly and firmly and you'll be alright.

Personally, I only saw about a 6 degree Celsius improvement over the stock HS&F. Then again, I bought it for how COOL it looks inside my (matching) blue, transparent, UV reactive case.

If you're looking for straight performance, you could probably do better; if you're looking for GOOD LOOKS, you've come to the right place!

Killer cooler!!

Strengths: Easy installation quiet operation great performance looks great nice led

Weakness: it comes with thermal compound but its not Arctic Silver5

This fan is awesome! It comes with everything needed for installation, good instructions, and it looks and runs flawlessly. I had no problems installing this fan on my epox 9npa+ultra. It keeps my amd64 3700+ very cool. I've done some oc and it hasnt shown any sign of strain to keep my temps low. and it creates a nice breeze over my RAM.

Quiet, not cool enough

Strengths: Very quited, compared with dell dimension system

Weakness: Not very cool.

I got the product from zzf. The product weight about 1 lb, that's gonna be a heavy load for motherboard. You need some force (strong) to install that on the motherboard. The stuff is very quite, I could sleep with it - I am sensitive to sound though. However, on my ASUS A8NE motherboard with AMD operon 165 CPU, it is only arround 1500rpm, and the CPU temp is about 43C, it is acceptable, but not that good, even I used the $12 arctic silver as the conductor.

This cooler is quiet depending on fan speed. The aluminum and copper helps make it lighter. Installation was straightforward. This is a good product. Check the Zalman site for motherboard compatibility.

Good Hinksink Zalman

Strengths: Cool design, all cooper, blue len fan, fan controller.

Weakness: Have to replace the original cpu plate. BIG. Pricy

My original hinksink die on me so I replace with this zalman cooler. It doesn keep tem down compare to amd's original hinksink. My PS and case fans both have blue led so this one one match them perfectly. Kind of trouble that I have to replace the original cpu plate. Also, it is kind of big so make sure that your motherboard can fit it. Overall, this is a pretty good hinksink.

this product really make my pc cool, i love it. And it makes my pc from 60 to 50 degree. it's not a big change, but i am happy with that.
