OUTSTANDING P&S Pocket CameraStrengths: Extremely light and compact, simple controls, good battery life, excellent quality pix. Weakness: No optical viewfinder, but that's a tradeoff for compactness. Video quality was OK, but not outstanding. I bought the SD100 specifically for a family reunion trip to Colorado. I wanted a shirt-pocket P&S camera that would be with me at all times and was willing to trade off pix quality for convenience. I was pleasantly surprised to get the compactness I wanted without the quality tradeoff I expected. Photo quality was excellent, especially for such a small device. Pix of family and scenery came out great, although the large areas of snow cover sometimes skewed the exposure. But then this IS a pocket P&S. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Very nice little camera.Strengths: Small, image stabilization, very portable, zoomable during recording mode. Lots of options to play with. Weakness: None. My girlfriend said the brown color was ugly when she saw it online. However, when we received it, even she was impressed. It's not the typical silver or black camera that everyone has. The brown color is really high class. Take a look at it in a store and you'll see what I mean. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Compact Point and Shoot well worth its featuresStrengths: Compact, Reasonably Prices, 8mps!, Image Stabilization!! Weakness: Would be nice if shutter was 1/2000 vs 1/1500.... I feel the camera is slower compared to my Sd750... its weird because shutter speeds are the same..... This camera reminds me of my OLD sd230. Its small and it got the job done. No red eye problems so far, but Im sure if I brought this to a bar or club with low ambient lighting, it would be a problem. Picture quality is good compared to my SD750, SD630, SD550, SD600. I currently own the SD630, SD870IS and the SD1100IS. Very compact and I just love the unique Bohemian Brown Color. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sd 1100Strengths: size, ease of use Weakness: build quality This camera is a lot like the sd 600 I have. The menus are the same, so if you're familiar with other canons, this one will be similar. One difference is that the sd1100 feels cheaper than my sd600. It just doesn't seem as solid. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great compact camera with gee-whiz featuresStrengths: Ease of use, face detection, large LCD Weakness: Only 3x zoom I recently received this camera as a gift, and I love it. In the past when I've shopped for cameras in this compact form-factor, usually you have to sacrifice features for size, but not this one. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

SD1100 gets 4 stars on the ultra-compact point and...Strengths: The Image Stabilization feature, Movie with sound, Crisp picture quality, Manual controls Weakness: Where is the viewfinder, canon? I love this camera that is so light and cute and can be put in the pant pocket when you go on an outing. I like the Bohemain brown color (I have silver, black, red and even pink cameras but this is my first brown color camera!) It takes very neat crisp pictures that we are so happy about. I love the IS feature and its good to play clips with sound coming out (my prev one didn't have it). I love the manual controls offered that help me turn flash on and off and do other tweaks quickly. The only unhappy feeling I had was when we were out in the lake under bright sun and the lcd screen couldn't be seen well and missed the good sized viewfinder to use. But I still love this camera for the face detection and Image stabilization features. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great pocket cameraStrengths: Optical IS feature helpful when shooting in either low-light conditions with flash off or at telephoto lengths Fast start-up with acceptable shutter-lag (when not using flash) Weakness: Battery/memory card cover and hinge made of plastic (no safety latch that needs to be de-activated first before sliding cover out, in order to prevent accidental opening) Wonderful SMALL camera. I set it on Auto and click away and every pic has turned out very clear. Software installation went off without a hitch and camera transfers pics over in an instant. Display is nice and bright. Battery seems to keep the camera running for forever. Still has viewfinder that's being dropped off of a lot of other cameras. I bought the gray case for the SD1000 that Amazon sells and it fits the SD1100 perfectly. A little snug at first and then stretches out. Really need the case to protect the camera if you throw it in a pack with cellphones etc. Bought 2GD memory card and it seems to hold a whole day the way I shoot but if I had it to do over I'd probably get 4GB. All in all this camera surpassed my expectations. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Attractive Looking and takes great pictures!Strengths: Buttons easy to use given size Menus have nice layout Weakness: Viewfinder little small Very nice camera that does well in every test. "Instant" on when in picture viewing mode is very nice to have when showing others or reviewing pictures that have been taken or looking for ones to delete. The viewfinder (although small) is helpful in times when you don't want the screen on just to take a picture. Face recognition is impressive! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

SD1100 perfect for your pocketStrengths: take good pictures, number of menu options Weakness: So far none. Like all four digital Canons I have owned to date, this one performs beautifully and as described. It's light weight, easy to use, powers up quickly, and takes sharp pictures. The size and weight is appealing, giving you no excuse to take it everywhere with you. There are plenty of menu options and effects to choose from. I did some experimenting with the image stabilizer, and it _really_ makes a difference. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Fantastic Camera for Great Pictures and Small enough...Strengths: The camera is set up that when you get it, if you have never even used a digital camera before, you can turn it on and start taking pictures. Fantastic!!!! Weakness: Lots and Lots of cool features. Easy to use all of these for the tech savy person but quite combersome for the non. Will take some time reading and learning how to use all the different functions. I would recommend this camera to anyone; tech savy or not. The easy of turning on and starting to take pictures is fantastic. It has face recognition and image stabilization. So if you are a shaky hand no problems here. The picture viewer is also a nice size with good clarity. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Canon's are great - this just might be my favorite...Strengths: ease of use - don't have to read the manual to get started. Unique and fashionable colors- easy to identify your camera in a sea of silver and black digicams. Small, portable and durable Weakness: I'm a novice point and shooter so I don't have any complaints! Of course I wish it was slightly cheaper... that's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. I love this camera- have had several Canon's and this one is my favorite I've had over the past 7 years. I'm hard on cameras, sporting events (and by that I mean it's in my pocket while I'm snow-boarding, at the bar, and at the park) so my camera has to be tough because it takes a lot of abuse. Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS (Brown)
THE GOOD: Great image quality; minimal shutter lag; speedy performance; optical image stabilization; face detection; optical viewfinder. THE BAD: No manual exposure controls; slow flash recycle time. THE BOTTOM LINE: Canons SD1100 IS adds optical image stabilization to last years hit SD1000, while delivering just as impressive image quality. Top

Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Review
Though the minimalist tribute to the original Canon ELPH has faded, the Canon SD1100 IS is still an impressive digital camera that makes a few significant improvements to one of the most popular digital cameras in recent history: the Canon SD1000. Those improvements only add to the excellent image quality we found on the Canon SD1100's predecessor. Optical image stabilization is the most... Top

DCRP Review: Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH
All things considered, the PowerShot SD1100 is a quality ultra-compact camera. It offers good photo quality, snappy performance, and image stabilization in a sleek, stylish metal body. Sure, there's room for improvement, but I'm yet to review a perfect camera. So, if it's a compact camera you're after, then this one's definitely worth a look. <p> Top

WOW, this Camera is fantastic
Strengths: - Compact Size - Easy to use - Great Colors
Weakness: None at this time
We had a 5MP Kodak digital camera and I decided we needed to upgrade to something smaller and higher MP's. I did a lot of research and decided that the SD1100 would be the best fit for me. WOW, was I in for a big surprise after my first use. This camera is not only extremely easy to use (especially for my wife), but the colors are amazing, especially in low light. We took a few pics of my kids sleeping (they are always in the most uncomfortable positions). The room was pitch black and we didn't change any settings...the pic came out perfect as if they were outside in the AZ sun! My wife also used it a few days later in a dim-lighted restaurant. The pics looked great and the colors were very vibrant. We love this camera and can not wait to use it at Disney World next month!
