Logitech QuickCam MessengerStrengths: Easy to install. Works right out of the box. Sends decent pictures on Messenger. Good microphone for price. Weakness: Small picture, 640/480 I purchased the "gift package" of two webcams so that my daughter and I could communicate on Messenger. It installs in a minute and we have spent hours disussing all manner of things. It is great to see her face. Hers is set up so that it sees her in the kitchen and we talk while she prepares meals! Logitech QuickCam MessengerStrengths: IT DOES WORK IN NATURAL LIGHT Weakness: LOW LIGHT QUALITY VERY VERY POOR VERY GRAINNY HARD TO FOCUS I BOUGHT THIS CAM THINKING IT WAS ONE OF LOGITECHS BETTER WEBCAMS LETS FACE IT IVE BEEN THROUGH 3 OF THEM AND THERE NOT ANY GOOD THE ONLY CAM THAT LOGITECH MAKES THAT IS A GOOD QUALITY CAMERA IS THE ORBIT THE LOGITECH 4000 AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE THATS IT AND IVE RESEARCHED THIS VERY THROUGHLY I AM GOING TO GET A 4000 BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LOGITECH WEBCAM AGAIN OR ANY OTHER PRODUCT UNTIL THERE OVERALL TOTAL QUALITY IMPROVES I DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE CAN WRITE A GOOD REVIEW ON THIS PRODUCT PEOPLE PLEASE DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS SPEN THE EXTRA AND GET THE 4000 OR THERE ORBIT CAM 72% of readers found this review helpful. Fine, at first.Strengths: price Weakness: why can't it be simple? Bought this at a computer store (FReyeZ) looking for a basic color cam with audio. Worked great for several weeks. I needed to change USB port, so removed software and camera. Powered down and began to reboot and reload. After 3 weeks of removing, reloading and re-removing software over and over again (with numerous visits to Logitech's site for elementary support, conflict with Windows XP and Logitech's software, etc.) finally gave up. Threw it into the garbage with glee. Any peripheral that requires this much work and adjustment is not viable. Especially with an operating system that is 5 years old. Plug and play at this point should be a no-brainer. Why is it so difficult to plug in a simple camera w/ audio? I can identify with the Apple TV commercials. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? This is a real good web camera i have ever seen. I cant compare with creative labs web cam does not look good. This looks nice and focus to the object. Trustable company Logitech. Works with all kinds of messengers including Yahoo with out any problems.
