i bought this after my 320g hd crashed. configured this as raid 1, connected to my mac first time, no issue so far. the firewire 800 is amazingly quick.

A good product.

Strengths: 2 TB storage. RAID 0 so reads and writes twice as fast as a single HDD. eSATA so very fast.

Weakness: No eSATA cable in box. Original setup is somewhat tricky as the installation manual is wrong.

I just bought this one for my Notebook PC, after being happy with the one I bought six months ago for my Desktop PC.

If it goes into power saver, you lose the drive letter until you restart the PC. If you have a TV program set to record to it when you lose the drive letter, that program will not record.

If you don't do the Quick Format for Windows, the Full Format will literally take about two whole days (but I did the full one for both of my purchases).

Amazing drive package for a good price

Strengths: RAID 0 or RAID 1, decent power consumption savings over the current system, drive swappable

Weakness: None

I was looking to set-up a 2N RAID system and had a Buffalo Terastation with 4 drives and 2TB. This thing blew it away performance wise and data transfer rates have been fast. Moved 1.5TB of data in about 4 hours via FW800 and I am setting up eSATA for it this week-end. I use it on a MacPRO and it complimented it well.
