Perfect for traveling

Strengths: Small footprint with larger hard disk space

Weakness: Short USB cable

I previously had Passport Essential 320 GB hard-drive. This one is far better than that one in-terms of design. No more shiny surface with scratches. The supplied USB cable is a little short but for use with laptop during traveling it's perfect.

WD My Passport Elite Portable 320GB Hard Drive

Strengths: compact size, capacity

Weakness: NA

This hard drive is worthy of consideration given its compact size, capacity and ease of set up. I have 3 external hard drives, all of which need an AC adapter. Given that the weight of those are quite heavy and the inconvenience of needing a plug, I needed an alternative.

Beware of Promised Software

Strengths: Size and looks.

Weakness: WD site promises software that is in fact a trial version. A cheap trick unworthy of WD. Next time I am adding HD capacity, I will remember this and stay away from WD.

Even if you purchase this drive, instal their software only if you are willing to cough up additionmal cost for the s'ware. After you have spent time to setup backup and selected files, you find out t

THIS WD ELITE 320GB HARD DRIVE IS OUTSTANDING

Strengths: Compact, fast, easy to install, reliable, attractive

Weakness: So far, none at all! Highly recommended!

I love this little compact drive! It is a great value, and it is so easy to use. This product offers fast transfers and downloads, and includes the multi-light indicator. The USB cable is short.

Good portable

Strengths: Compact Lightweight

Weakness: None yet

In preparation for a long Summer vacation, I bought a few electronic gadgets to save the precious memories. I bought this 320GB My Passport to save the videos and high resolution pictures that I'd be taking. I ended up filling up about 50 GB worth of files on this portable device and I didn't encounter any issue at all with setting it up (simple USB plug-in) and using it.

Sure, I could have bought smaller-capacity ones (e.g. 160 GB or even less) but the price differentials were too small and now this serves as a good secondary backup tool for my day-to-day needs.
