naStrengths: it is the best hub I have used now, it hasn't any compatible problem with windows xp version. Weakness: not found I feel it has enough port for usb2.0 and fireware equipment. I haven't meet any problem by now. The power that supplyed by adaper is enough to drive any power tiger. I think it is the best hub I have used by now. This this is extremely weak...Strengths: Um, NONE... Weakness: 3 port firewire hub is really a 2 port with uplink. Weight from firewire cables tip this unit over, the rubber stand BARELY supports this unit without cables. Well, for starters, this thing is oddly shaped, light plastic with an useless rubber base. The one side is completely wasted with a row of LED's. This space should have been used putting extra Firewire PORTS instead. This thing should have been about $5. Not bad except my unit's firewire failedStrengths: Firewire & USB in 1 unit. Works well with 1.1 usb items Weakness: firewire failed Form factor is a little annoying- plugged in USB devices make the hub want to tip over easily. About 2 months ago the firewire on my unit failed. When I plug in a firewire enclosure into the hub or my ipod, neither device is recognized by windows. Iomega Firewire- SUB 2.0 hubStrengths: Nice tight design, easy set up Weakness: Why not put the power port on the backside, that is, away from the majority of the ports Service from the vendor was excellent and the product works as advertised, with a grade of "B" on the design. Would have earned a "A " on the design layout if the power port and "feeding" USB connection had been on the backside of the unit. Still is very usable and a good value based on the convenience of not needing to enter the computer case to create a front panel access. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Not bad than what i imagineStrengths: everthing works fine on my pc, contact my camcorder in 1394 very well,outlook is nice Weakness: firewire uplink and usb uplink are separate, 2 1394 ports in fact To tell the truth, the bad review of this product is too horrible to buy it, but i still got it at last because i found the review about the other usb/firewire combo hub are all bad.And after one week, it works fine at all. A lot of bang for the buck!Strengths: 7 USB & FireWire ports for very little cash Weakness: Base needs to be heavier This hub performs as promised! With 4 USB and 3 FireWire ports, you have lots of connectivity. I was going to buy just a 4-port USB hub, but for the same money I could get 3 FireWire ports as well. Compact but confusing, FireWire portion is weak or...
Strengths: Positive points: compact, smooth & clean appearance, FireWire + USB in one box, activity lights. Can stand on edge or side.
Weakness: Negative points: activity lights not functioning for connected FireWire devices, FireWire drive does not alway mount, confusing product claims (see comments below), front ports location is awkward.
Product literature says "USB 2.0 4 up/downsteam ports" and "FireWire Provides three up/downstream ports" . What you actually see are: 4 USB type A ports, 1 USB type B port, and 3 FireWire 400 6-pin ports. While FireWire is designed for "up and downstream" connections, USB is not capable of this. How the FireWire ports are internally connected is unclear. The activity lights do not light up for the FireWire ports, and about half the time the connected drive powers up but does not mount.
