Creative Zen Touch 20 GB HD

Strengths: Good sound quality at a good price compared to the iPod with the same drive. The touchpad is better than the iPod's.

Weakness: Heavier and bulkier than iPod. The battery is not removable. Not easy to find replacement carrying cases for it. The software could be better. Not recognized as a drive by windows xp

Recommended buy, Good value. Overall, I'm happy with my Zen touch. I just ordered my second Zen touch because I dropped my first one and the screen got shattered, still works though.

Creative Zen Touch 20GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Great sound, touch pad, ease of use, dedicated volume buttons, amazing battery life!!

Weakness: Weight (too heavy)

This is an awesome MP3 player, i would reccomend it to anyone who wants the capabilities to carry around their entire music library wherever they go. Besides that it is bigger and heavier that the apple ipod, i think it is way better overall. The touch pad takes some time to get used to, but after a couple days, or even a couple of hours, you get the hang of it. The sound is superb, the best i have ever heard out of an mp3 player. The battery life is amazing, i got 36 hours out of it! the menu is relatively easy to use and straight forward. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about getting an mp3 player or just wants a new gadjet to mess around with.

Very nice

Strengths: 24hr battery life, awesome audio quality, very intuitive interface, moderate size

Weakness: could use some more firmware updates (there's only been 1)

I love my Zen. I use it with a pair of sony in-ear earbuds and man the quality of the music is amazing. I feel as if I'm right there at the concerts!

I really like the battery life, esp. since I always forget to recharge but with this thing it doesn't matter cuz it can run for 24 hrs! Easy to navigate menus, and although the physical size of the player is larger than an iPod, it just means it's that much more durable. I've dropped this thing tons of times already and it's still working ... phew!

Also another nice feature is that if your player ever does lock up, you can manually reset it by pressing in the reset pin hole. You can also reformat it that way too.

Oh and did I mention that it comes with a bunch of classical music pre-installed? Well it does! And awesome quality ones too all done by the Beijing Orchestra or something. Very nice.

Overall, I like it a lot and haven't had any problems. Only downsides are that the touch panel is a little bit too sensative, but you get used to it. And there isn't much firmware support for it as I orignally expected.

Fantastical!

Strengths: Sound, navigation, software, feel.....

Weakness: The touch pad takes a day or two to get used to, but it is great once you get the hang of it.

I just got it a few days ago, but I find the navigation is simple, and much more intuitive than my IRiver MP3. Sound quality is excellent (once you upgrade the earbuds). Case is high quality, but don't put it in the case until you get all the settings where you want them because the controls can't be accessed when the player is in the case. It feels and sounds like a solid player. I am happy with everything about it.

great MP3 player

Strengths: has tons of space for music, sound quality is great, plus looks cooler than the ipod for alot less money too

Weakness: the touch pad is kind of sensitive even in the lowest setting but you get used to it, and like everyone said the earphones are alittle cheap but give off descent sound at low volume levels

Im very happy with the zen touch it does everything i need it to do. I do alot of walking at work and it never skips on me, also the transfering music to the player is very fast i did 15 albums in less than 3minutes

Zen Touch 20G

Strengths: Long, long battery life, excellent sound and design.

Weakness: A tad bigger than IPOD, heavy, case is pretty much useless, dont offer much accessories...

After a few days of tinker around w/ it, I've become very comfortable and enjoying the music with ease, i.e changing features and using the touchpad. I'm actually preferred this over IPOD (since I also own one)..

Quit comparing it to an iPod, this is Creative's...

Strengths: Excellent sound quality, sturdy construction. Touch pad is responsive and accurate, face buttons are solid, Random has a dedicated button on front. 24 hour battery life.

Weakness: Touch pad has a slight learning curve.

Creative has always beeen known for top notch sound cards a la their SoundBlaster and Audigy lines that are found in today's gaming computers.

Creative has managed to pack their signature top notch quality sound processing into a MP3 player, the 20GB Creative Zen Touch. First and foremost, it's touch strip located in the center of the unit is it's main navigation tool.

The construction of the Zen Touch is amazing, it can withstand little bumps and jolts and even drops without suffering major cosmetic nor hard drive bruises.

This is a unit dedicated to storing and playing music at very high quality and can also serve as a storage device if you drag and drop your documents and other various file formats into the Data section of the player.

Nomad Explorer is easy and quick to use, just drag and drop your mp3 files into the Music section of the player, and Nomad Explorer automatically copies the mp3s to the Zen Touch. That's how simple it is, you just drag and drop, no more no less.

I would recommend the Zen Touch to anyone and especially the music enthusiast who demands top quality sound processing, astonishing 24 hour battery life that's been tested and proven, and with a nice price difference when compared to Apples counterpart, the famous iPod.

Has anyone used the recording features on this product. What is the quality, is there vox capabilities, etc. What is the name of the software that comes with this and does it allow for upload as well as download?

Awsome MP3 player

Strengths: Awsome sound, easy to use, easy to upgrade firmware and drivers. Can use with Rhapsody, Napster, Musicmatch, etc. Can also be used as HD to carry documents and other files.

Weakness: Touch controls take getting used to. Creative software package is not intuitive. I prefer thrid party software from Red Chair which allows you to drag and drop and delete music and files to Zen.

This is my 3rd Zen MP3 player. I've been happy with all three. My two sons now have my old players...They still work and sound great.
I have my entire collection of Cd's on my player and still have lots of room for more.

My player is used everyday at work (8 hours per day) through a pair of powered speakers and on the road through my car stereo system without any problems.

I'd be lost without my Zen Touch.

Oh, did I mention this is my 3rd player?

Keep up the good work Creative.

Creative Zen Touch 20GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Clean design and solid construction. Great sound quality and the good battery life. Decent pricing.

Weakness: No FM. Non removable battery.

Actually I have been quite pleased with the unit without any complaints. Navigation is not hard; the touch pad is just fine. It is probably one of the best units in the market, and whether one chooses the Ipod is a matter of design choice.

So when the battery won't hold a charge anymore, you throw out the player?

The Zen Touch 20GB MP3 Player ROCKS!!!!!

Strengths: Battery Life Storage space Easy to navigate

Weakness: Must be removed from the carrying case in order to access controls.

This is an awesome MP3 player for the price. I paid($199.95 on ZipZoomFly.com). I was also able to take advantage of a $20.00 mail in rebate from Creative Labs which made it an even better buy. I never would have been able to find a deal this good, if I hadn't found it on PriceGrabbers.com. A very big THANK YOU to them.
The controls on the Zen Touch are very user friendly and easily mastered in a very short time period.
The storage capacity and the great battery life between charges are what I consider to be the two biggest reasons that would cause me to recommend this product to others.
Another plus for me was that the software was compatible with my computer's older operating system(Windows ME). A lot of the other MP3 players on the market today require the latest and greatest computer technology and operating systems in order to be compatible with their software.
Look no further, as far as MP3 players go this has to be the best value on today's current market in my opinion.

Creative Zen Touch 20GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Great sound, less expensive than the ipod. I also found it was sleek and nice looking.

Weakness: Slightly heavier than the ipod, but not bad at all. Also, there are fewer accessories sold for this product.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. If I had spend a few dollars more, I could have gotten the 40gb, and Im certain that would have been a good investment as well.
