Great ProductStrengths: Small size, light weight Weakness: All 7 ports are on the same side, needs AC adapter I bought this product because I had lots of products quite a few external hard drives and printers that I wanted to access from the same desktop. 69% of readers found this review helpful. Aug 10, 2008 The A/C power adapter is not madatory to use this hub. However, it provides additional power often necessary when the computer cannot handle the load. Some cheap computers will give up at 2 devices, others typically handle 4 devices fine (likewise most 4 port mini-hubs wont have an A/C adapter). 7 port hubs will almost always include a power supply.

A decent productStrengths: elegent design, relatively small (for a 7 port unit), true usb2.0 speed Weakness: compatibility issue with certain type of external hard drive. I have had this product for more than a month. Till now, it is working fine for most of the usb devices. 63% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Some issuesStrengths: Small size, port layout Weakness: problems with SanDisk flash drives I did not have any problems with this device until I started using it with my Sandisk cruiser and mini cruiser flash drives. I can read fine, but when I delete files or write to the flash disk, the computer drops the device. I've used the hub on 2 different systems with similar results, both running XP Pro. Other devices on the hub with no issues are a Maxtor One Touch, mouse/keyboard, and 2 printers. 62% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

DisappointedStrengths: It has seven USB 2.0 ports. Weakness: On mine, the power supply only powers the 'power' lamp on the hub, and does not power the actual USB hub ports. The power supply only powers the 'power' lamp on the hub, and does not power the actual USB hub ports. Therefore, after installing a few devices, there isn't enough power to go around and some devices are not recognized. (I tested the power coming out of the ports, and there was none.) Perhaps I am not the only one getting a 'lemon.' I would think some of the connectivity issues experienced by others may be because of this same flaw. 57% of readers found this review helpful. Very Good Value!Strengths: Worked right out of the box. Easy to follow directions. Weakness: USB ports too close to each other. Too light(May be a strong point for some) Installed without any problems.Works well and the directions for installation are easy to follow. 57% of readers found this review helpful. Excellent DesignStrengths: Well-designed port arrangement Weakness: none This is the best USB hub I have used so far. It seems to be the only one intelligently designed, so all ports are usable. Every other hub I have seen has their ports arranged horizontally, so close together that if there is a Jump Drive or similar plugged into one port, the adjacent port is unusable. This nifty little unit solves that problem by stacking all the ports vertically, with plenty of space in between. Great idea, they all should have been made this way! 5 stars for D-Link on this one. 57% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 HubStrengths: reliable device, fittable design for any silver lian-li pc case Weakness: may be overloaded if used for charging devices like handhelds via usb port This USB hub is one of the best I've ever tried. It works perfectly fine however you should watch out for using its ports for charging other devices with mini USB cables (cell phones, pdas, bluetooth headsets) because it may be overloaded. 55% of readers found this review helpful. DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 HubStrengths: Very small; vertical ports reduce footprint of the hub and makes more ports accessible when other devices are plugged in; relatively inexpensive Weakness: None This hub works as expected without any problems for me. Transfers are fast and the ports are easy to access. The size of the hub makes it easy to place anywhere (I didn't know how small it would be until I actually got it). 55% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great Hub!Strengths: Easy to install; reasonably priced; works with all my sandisk memory sticks and other usb devices Weakness: None I had a generic 4 port hub before, and suddenly 2 memory sticks (sandisk cruzer 256) failed to work! My 512 cruzer worked so I figured the problem had to be in the hub, not the memory sticks. I upgraded to the D-link DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub and everything works great now. Once again, D-link came through. 47% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 HubStrengths: Small convenient size, easy to use, easily fit on the top of my pc in different positions, color matches to my Lian-Li pc case, easily installed and very reliable. Weakness: None I purchased DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub a month ago at Amazon.com. So far it's been working fine. I like the design of D-Link products. I got a Wireless Router, a Cable Modem, a KVN Switch and a USB Hub and I have to admit that all devices work fine and match each other and my Lian-Li pc case. 35% of readers found this review helpful. 7 port USB 2.0 HubStrengths: Small Size, seven hi-speed ports, vertical stacking of ports Weakness: Power adaptor is on the opposite side of the hub This is a great USB hub. I was really impressed with its small size and ability to use each USB port since they are stacked vertically. The only thing that is a minor draw back for my set-up is that the ports and power input are on the opposite sides. This is not a problem if you keep it on a desk (in fact I thinks that is a plus) however, if you have to use this in a tight location cords come out of it from both sides so it may pose a problem. Overall I highly recommend it. 35% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub is the best out there!Strengths: Ports stacked vs side by side, ports all on one side, pwr & individual port LEDs not found on most units at this price, compatible w/Mac & PC new & old, backwrd compat w/USB 1.1 Weakness: None I did a lot of research before buying. Dumped my 1.0 hub and bought 2 of these. They work great. A lot smaller than it looks in the photo (4" x 2"). So far I've tried 10 different devices (old and new), and they all work fine. I think the person that dinged this unit because of power limitations had a lemon or some other problem. The power light shows when you plug in the included power supply - the other lights and ports activate once you connect the included cable to the computer. The power supply appears to suppliment the amp load. You cant test "load" with a meter (they must have tested voltage which is not viable), but I can tell you that I'm using all ports and I've got several power hungry devices that use 500ma per port or more, and have experienced no problems. DUB-H7 7-Port USB 2.0 Hub
Strengths: Compact size, vertical ports
Weakness: None
Out of curiosity I connected the hub to the computer rear USB 2.0 port without providing AC power to the port. WinXP recognized it without any additional software and all the LEDs lighted up. So I have it working without AC. A joystick, scanner, digital camera and a Jumpdrive are connected to it (Joystick and jumdrive draw power from it) and I don't have any problem with it.)
I tried file transfer speed and it took 45s to transfer 300Meg file from hard drive to jumpdrive. Same time with and without AC power.
I don't quite see the reason for all the LEDs in there. In my case all of them are constantly lit, even when my computer is turned off. With modem LEDs, optical mouse LED and now USB hub LEDs constantly on, my computer room is pretty well lit up now!
