Great Camcorder

This camera is high quality and takes great video. Having read reviews it compares favorably to one of the leaders in camcorders, Canon. I had been looking at a few HD models that would take SD cards. Initially I looked at the Panasonic SD9, but the reviews indicated video quality was not as good as the Canon HF100 or HF10. The HF100 has no built in storage, and the HF100 has 16 gigs. Both are more expensive than the Samsung SC-HMX20C. Mic sensitivity is good, picking up sounds well. It also takes nice still pictures. One of the cool features I have been toying with is one where you record 10 sec at 60 frames/sec in standard def, but plays back at normal speeds, resulting in a super slow motion video.

I have hooked up the camera to my HD screen via component cables, and the video is very clean. Colors are definitely muted in indoor video though unless it is very bright.

Great Full HD Camcorder

Strengths: Full HD support (1920x1080),easy user interface (touch screen), quick start, slow video, small size

Weakness: HDMI cable not included, a bit heavier than its appearance

SC-HMX20C is the next generation of Sc-HMX10. HMX20C looks similar to HMX10. But it supports full high definition. The zoom in/out jog works great and the start up responds very quickly. The quality of the video is good. Although it seems a bit heavier, it is OK for me.
