The Apple iPod Nano is a portable MP3 player with a touchscreen interface. This is the 6th generation of the Apple iPod Nano, and has been redesigned to use a smaller display that uses a higher density of pixels and supports multi-touch. Excellent
Strengths: Small size is good for running. I have been using an Armband but you can use the clip on the IPod nano 6th gen to clip onto any part of your clothing.8 gigabytes of storage hold lot of music
Weakness: Battery only lasts about 2 hours listening to audio books. I'm guessing it's more expensive than other IPOD's. I got it because the reviews on Amazon.com were very positive. I paid $139 for it from a
This is the first IPOD I've owned. I would have given it 5 stars but I have nothing to compare it to.
I use it to listen to music and audio books when I run outside.
It serves that purpose very well.
At first I didn't like the fact that you have to use ITUNES to load music and books onto the IPOD. But it does work smoothly and you don't necessarily have to buy the music and audio books from ITUNES. You can import your own music.
Also I've downloaded free books from our local library. This does take sometime. I use the Overdrive Media Console to first download the books and them import them into ITUNES.
Sound and clarity are excellent using the plug in earphones that come with it.
The touchscreen is nice and bright (except in bright sunlight).
I would recommend the IPOD nano 6th to my friends.

This is an update to my review. After 3 months I like the ipod nano 6th generation even better. Apple did an update that improved the operation. The button used to turn the screen on and off will now turn the ipod nano off completely if you hold it down for 5 seconds.
It will also turn back on if you hold the same button down for 5 seconds. The same button will also pause music or an audiobook if you click it twice quickly.
It used to be that the ipod nano would not turn off completely, but only stay paused.
These improvements make it so you don't have to look at the ipod to control it. It makes it a lot easier to control if you're exercising.
The same update also made the storing and display of audiobooks better. Now their is only one listing under Audiobooks for each book. A book cover icon and the name of the book next to it. If you click on the icon the chapters of the book are displayed along with the place you are in each chapter. When you go back to the book even after turning the ipod nano off you can easily go to the right chapter and the audio will start at the place you left off..
There does seem to be a problem with the icons displaying the wrong book cover. I haven't been able to figure out how to correct this. That is somewhat annoying, but I can still find the correct book because the name of the book is displayed next to the book cover icon.
I originally said the battery only lasted about 2 hours. I have found that it will last much longer than that. I do recharge it often, so I'm not sure, but the battery probably lasts more than 10 hours.
