Plextor PoweRec DVD+R/RW CD-R/RW External WriterStrengths: Good stability and compatibility with acceptable speed. Works fine with both USB2 and IEEE1394. Weakness: Support only DVD+RW specification; kind of large for a external device So far, I had burn many DVD+R/RW and CD-R/RW. It works perfectly! Although I think it's too large for my laptop accessory, but the quality of the device is without question! However, the capacity of the DVD is not large enough for some DVD movie copying. Think of higher capacity DVD writer before you place the order. Otherwise, I think it's a great deal for data backup with a $50 manufacturer rebate! 81% of readers found this review helpful. Plextor PoweRec DVD+R/RW CD-R/RW External Writer
Strengths: Great burner. Has never given me any troubles and is easily compatible.
Weakness: Kind of large for an external.
Overall I am very happy with the burner, considering the price I paid for the burner. It is well made and has gone through a lot of flights without any damage. Definitely a good buy.
