IPod nano 4GBStrengths: Battery life, small, sturdy Weakness: None The screen is clear and bright. It has great battery life and can last for a couple of days without recharging. I like the sleek design and the metal feel when you hold it. 75% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Ipod Nano 4th generation 8 gigabytesStrengths: -portable (on-the-go) -bright screen -responsive accelerometer -shake to shuffle Weakness: -should've bought the 16gb -very fragile can easily break -although scratch proof...the apple logo can become vulnerable to scratches diminishing the physical looks Overall, I am not too satisfied with the product. However, Apple has put in a substantial effort in revolutionizing this particular generation. It is very bold and eye catching. 33% of readers found this review helpful. iPod Nano (4G) 8GStrengths: shuffle(accelerometer), cover flow options, genius playlist, bigger screen, nice design, great price Weakness: too fragile, if you put them on the speakers, they kinda tilt backwards since its tall and slim. i bought the iPod nano 4G a few weeks ago and was quiet impressed with its design. This is my first iPod and I really liked its design better than the previous Ipod nanos. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Apple iPod Nano (fourth generation, 8GB, black)
THE GOOD: The fourth-generation iPod Nano is more attractive and colorful than its predecessor and includes Apples new Genius playlist tool, a tilt sensor, and accessibility features for the visually impaired. THE BAD: To use the new Nano, you must upgrade to Apples iTunes 8 software with its laundry list of hardware requirements; the rounded screen invites glare; sound quality is only average.... Top

Apple iPod Nano 4th Gen | Black - 8GB
Apples 4th generation iPod Nano combines the overall aesthetic of the 2nd generation Nano with the functionality of the 3rd generation. The newest Nano, released in September 2008, returns to the long and rectangular formfactor with the thinnest profile yet at 0.24 inches. The screen size is the same as the previous version, although it must be rotated width-wise to get the same dimensions. The... Top

iPod #6
Strengths: Battery life (for music), Price, Light Weight, Speedy Interface
Weakness: Curved screen causes glare, Needs to be rotated for videos/game-play
Although I've owned multiple "Classic" iPods, iPhones and a mini, this is the first iPod Nano I've purchased since the first generation Nano. After three generations of Nanos, Apple just about has it right. This Nano has double the capacity. The screen is almost twice as big. Battery life is much improved. They've added features such as "Shake to Shuffle," video playback, genius playlists and a much nicer interface. All of this for $100 less than I paid for the first one.
So if this is your first Nano, or you haven't purchased one since the 1st-2nd generations, this is a great upgrade. However, it still has its flaws. The Nano must be rotated for viewing videos and gameplay, and the battery doesn't lost very long when playing videos.
If you own the 3rd-generation Nano this isn't much of an upgrade. The added feature list is quite gimmicky and battery life for video playback has actually been reduced. One positive aspect is that they've replaced the easy-to-scratch mirror finish in this release.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. Improvements on current features from the first generation are nice, but no "wow" for owners of more recent Nanos, so hopefully we'll see some more innovative features in future Nanos.
