LEXMARK JUNK

Strengths: Great for unloading your wallet of money and lots of it.

Weakness: Lexmark paid extra to design a chip to put in the cartridge to foil the unsuspecting customer from refilling and then at the same time limiting the amount of usage regardless of how much ink is left.

I'll never buy another lexmark, I bought the 1st one with my computer, not knowing anything about Lexmarks' underhanded tricks then inherited a 2nd one, Now I have 2 for the Landfill. Lexmark RIP.

Low Life Span

Strengths: Smallest all-in-one printer saves valuable desk space. At £59.95 seems cheap from Currys.

Weakness: Single cartridge cannot produce true black and has a very short life span. Expensive in the long term.

I am very disappointed, in terms of print quality (black text becomes green on high speed output) and as a small home/business user I was astonished to find the cartridge empty after just a few days use. Worse still, because this model is still new, its difficult to find a cartridge supplier. Cheapest online supplier quotes around £14 for an item with a life span of about one week (average use)....

x2350 simply 1 lexmark cartridge (18c0781)

Strengths: the cartridge is easier on the pocketbook for normal printing...documents etc

Weakness: for higher quality jobs like photos or you will need a replacement after @15 8x10's on hi gloss photo paper

this cartridge overall is good. however,in lieu of it's short-lived usage, there should be an incentive to buying it. the photos are great, and with practice with the soft- ware, you can give many 1 hour photo shops a challenge.i think that lowering the price or rebates will net many satisfied lexmark # 1 buyers

even after unsupported cartridge message

Strengths: you can refill it 3-4 times

Weakness: after the 3rd refill, you will get an unsupported cartridge message. Even after installing a new cartridge and reinstalling the drivers, you will get the same message even if the cartridge new & legit

The smartchips in the printer is smart enough to make the printer stop working even after installing a new cartridge which should reset it in the printer. There is something in the printer itself that tells it to self destruct. tech support is about as easy to understand as a deaf person with a strong foreign accent and refuse to send you a replacement and pretend they can't hear you. Is lexmark...

Cartridges Only Refill 1x or 2x

Strengths: None

Weakness: Cartridges have a smartchip that only allows so many pages to be printed, period. Cannot refill more than 1x or 2x. Way too expensive compared to what's available on the open market. Boo on Lexmark

Lexmark has, like many manufacturer's, traded quality and economy for ink sales. The #1 cartridge can onlt be refilled once or twice before the built-in chip detects too many pages printed and gives an "unsupported cartridge error". My suggestion is go for a printer that does not use "smartchip" technology in it's ink cartridges. Boo on Lexmark for typical ink profiteering.

Lexmark X2480 & Lexmark Cartridge #1 (18C0781)

Strengths: For a cheap printer, it does pretty good scanning with some handy photo editing items; however limited.

Weakness: We've only had this printer hooked up for 2 days and printed 22 test pages (tax return). The screen message says it's already down to 60% ink! THAT's BAD!

This is a rediculous printer! To replace a cartridge every 50-100 pages is a rediculous notion and we're not going to do it; we'll return it ASAP.

Doesn't Last

Strengths: The printer was cheap

Weakness: After one week the ink ran out.

The ink cartridges are not cheap when compared to how long they last. THe printing quality I found to be substandard. You pay for what you get. Very dissapointing. Its a cheap (expensive in the long run) printer.

bad print cartridge

Strengths: none

Weakness: not very much ink

The cartridge that came with my printer lasted SIX months. The cartridge you sent me is already running out of ink in ONE month, same amount of usage. Now I must find another vendor, because I need a new cartridge.
