Best UPS i have ever bought

Strengths: Lots of outlets Cable tv line surge protector Best bang for the buck

Weakness: Could not get the vista patch to install properly, therefore autoshut down and save feature to work on vista x64 the blue lcd light is tooo bright esp at night

This is the best UPS i have ever owned because it looks cool, and it could supply power to my 30" dell lcd+computer for at least 5mins. Not only is it good, it is also reasonable priced. the unit has 8 outlets, 4 of which has both the battery backup and surge protector and the other 4 only has the surge protector, so there is plenty of outlets Steven

Great Device... wish i bought two!

Strengths: I have this unit set up on the TV in my bedroom. The product is great, tell me exactly what I need to know. It does run a little warmer than a usual UPS but not much hotter.

Weakness: My biggest complaint is that since I have it set up in my bedroom and the blue screen is very bright and there is no way to dim or turn just the screen off. Other than that, the UPS works great.

This product works very well and enables you to work through brownouts and blackouts, but it has one major nuisance: Every time the backup battery is activated, an audible alarm goes off and repeats every 5-10 seconds. The only way to disable it is to manually press the mute button each time the power goes out. If you have 2-3 of these around the house and you're in the middle of a storm, you're...

So Far So Good

Strengths: Display is neat and the avr is not totally battery reliant. It can actually regulate as opposed to just switching to battery.

Weakness: Transformer bricks kill the battery protected outlets space.

I've heard it click on and off a few times and did not have any interuption. I haven't tried it's run time yet but it should do fine with 1000VA rating. Might add seperate strip for bricks that need battery.

SmartPro LCD 1000VA 120V UPS

Strengths: Looks great in home theater setting

Weakness: not long backup

I got this UPS based on 2 things, looks and 1000va rating. While the look is great with my home theater setting, I would have liked a little more beef when it comes to actual backup time. It is adequate for shutting down my LCD tv safely, but you don't have much time. Overall OK, but not mind blowing good

Decent UPS

Strengths: Display, compact size, recognized in OS as ACPI battery

Weakness: Not much backup time, backlight not defeatable, alarm can be turned off but procedure is complicated.

This is the coolest-looking UPS on the market... with the blue backlit display on the front. The information displayed isn't really that useful but fun for techies to keep an eye on the state of the AC input. It's also a nice compact size, and can orient vertically or horizontally depending on your needs (the display can be flipped accordingly). As another reviewer mentioned, it doesn't allow for...

Solid UPS with blue LCD in the front and a bit...

Strengths: Solid performance, look professional, useful battery and watts info display, software to shutdown and other functions

Weakness: Too annoying alarm whenever it is on battery, outlets are pretty close to each others, download software, software is not very easy to setup

This Tripp-Lite perform quite well with large visible LCD in the front. So far I had about 4 times power disruption, and it performed well to be on battery and shut down the system. However, the very loud alarm is annoying in that it would not stop unless the button was manually pushed. I believe you can set off the alarm, but it doesn't have the option to alarm only certain times. The software...

Superb Product

Strengths: 1000VA, strong power for home and entertainment units.

Weakness: I still don't know how to turn that blue screen back light off. It is in my bedroom and it just sometimes annoys me with that backlight. I might just find somethign to cover it up.

It does its job right. I should try it sometime by pulling the plug and see how it perform. If you have a vista, do not connect it to the computer at first. Update its latest firmware before doing so. (Well they should stick that label on top of the UPS) Overall it is a nice product.

A notch above the entry level units

Strengths: Adequate backup for most home PCs, has voltage regulation

Weakness: LCD is cool, but may be useless/invisible depending on where you position the device

Usually you don't get voltage regulation/power "cleaning" on low-end UPS units. I got the SmartPro for around eighty bucks or so, and was pleasantly surprised to see AVR mentioned on the box. Provides something in the neighborhood of 500 watts of battery support (max), but don't think you're going to run your PC for 20 minutes on the UPS alone---if this thing kicks in, you should be thinking...

A good UPS for the dollar.

Strengths: Size, clear display, very good hardware functionality, Tripp-Lite customer service.

Weakness: Windows 32-bit software is very wonky, turning the unit on and off feels a little counterintuitive.

I needed to update my all of my old UPSs (Belkin Enterprise models that were out of their battery's prime). With the sale that Tech Depot had on these last week, it became more cost-effective to buy these new units than to buy replacement batteries for the Belkins. I have been using the Tripp-Lites for a week or so now, and my experiences with them have been very good. I had an issue with one...

Like it very much

Strengths: Very bright display

Weakness: Haven't seen any yet

Cool blue display, it display the voltage clearly and very bright. It's also display the battery status. It has a longer hour compare with my other UPS. Very good product.
