ATI All-in-Wonder X800 XL Graphics/TV/FM Tuner Card

Great card for more money

Strengths: excellent performance, TV in/out great, quiet fan

Weakness: support is not good, manual and software is bad

it's a great hign end video card for sure. watch TV and DVD smoothly, play most of 3d games (I have) without problem. I am very happy its performance when it has been set up completely. the downside are the driver and softwares, I spent a while to fix the problems. overall, it's the best card I have got so far.

ATI does it again with this top performer...

Strengths: Excellent graphics, TV quality is great, R430 core uses little energy for a lot of output...

Weakness: Alot of drivers needed in order to get all you can from the card

This is definitely one of the best cards I have owned thus far. With a low price tag, and all the included peripherals (FM tuner, Remote, ATI's Media Center 9) it's a steal. It completely blows my old Nvidia GeForce 6600GT out of the ballpark. If you put ATITool to use, you'll see that you can squeeze even more out of this already great product.
If you're looking for more than a video card, one that has it all...take a look at the X800 XL.

Well done ATI

Strengths: High end, tons of extras, lots of connections, 3D gamming is very good and quiet fan.

Weakness: Support web page is not straight forward, the catalyst software still have some minor problems and if you have Prince of Persia it will not play on this video card.

I'm very happy with this video card, it has no problem with the 3d games. Using the Auto CAD software with this card is very nice and fast. The video capturing is superb, TV tunning is good (it has it's problem but I got them fix) FM tunning rocks. As a suggestion to all people out there, if you are looking for a video card that does TV/FM Tunning, video capturing ( which is very nice), gaming and it does a great job with Auto CAD software, and many more, this is the one for you. Now if you are doing gaming only then get and nvidia display card.

I admit that this display adapter has problem with there software but I have fix most of the problems my self by keeping up with there updates and tweaking the registry.

Geforce 6800GT cards are pricey for my needs so I was strongly considering getting a Geforce 6600GT card. After reading an online and magazine review of the ATI Radeon X800 XL, I had almost changed my mind. The deal was sealed when I read another online review of the card in which their test setup used the same motherboard that I purchased.

In a nutshell, I'm happy with the performance of the X800 XL. If you require dual DVI outputs, purchase the card from a 3rd party manufacturer.

'Demand' the ability to disable 'TV-on-Demand'

However, I used my old All-in-Wonder 7500 to capture video from video game consoles, (PS2, Gamecube, etc.) Happy with the quality, I went with another.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T GET THIS.

Video Game Captures, as well as a few other potential sources, require -PRECISE- timing. The "TV-on-Demand" feature turns the card into a digital video recorder, so I turned it off, so there would be no delays.

After numerous communications with ATI support, even though there is a setting to "Disable TV-on-Demand", it does NOTHING. The "Feature" cannot be disabled.

This card is... okay... if you're not concerned with timing or the capture capabilties. Just keep in mind that whatever displays on the screen is 0.6 to 0.9 seconds behind the source it comes from. For those who know gaming, that's a 600 to 900 LAG time.

The card is USELESS to me. I would love to return it, but ATI's EXTREMELY slow support response times have caused the return period to lapse.

I strongly recommend against this card, because the delay is a "feature that has been implemented" according to ATI. Who knows what 'features' they will introduce soon? Maybe random restarting of the computer? Maybe the screen going black? I would not doubt they add those 'features' to their software.

ATI has gone to hell in their card designs... And even further on their software for their hardware.
