Logitech Z-5450

Strengths: excellent sound quality, wireless rear speakers

Weakness: none

This speaker set has optical input, which was what I wanted. The sound quality is amazing, no wonder it is THX certified. The wireless rear speakers are convenient than most others, however they still need their own power input so that you still have to wire them from a power outlet. Overall it is one of the best computer speaker systems in the current market.

Quality High-End Wireless PC Speakers with a Caveat

Strengths: Powerful, aesthetically pleasing, wireless rear speakers keep running cables to a minimum, remote control is easy to use, quick setup, uses speaker wire for front speakers to keep audio quality high.

Weakness: Wireless receiver interferes with 2.4Ghz spectrum, but good placement of it alleviates the problem. Must place rear speakers near a wall outlet. Less powerful than it's wired cousin, the Z-5500s.

After using the Z-5450s for a couple of weeks, buying this set is money well spent. Essentially it's the slightly lesser-powered version of Logitech's successful Z-5500 speakers, but the rear speakers communicate wirelessly with the main receiver. The whole system was a breeze to setup and took not much more than 15-30 minutes to unpack all the materials and hook it up to my computer. The...

Great system for the price

Strengths: no wires to connect rear speakers

Weakness: rear speakers are not that strong

This system is great for the price. Nice looks good sound. I prefer the z-5500 but those don't have wireless rear speakers so I cant really compare them. This system is great for use in a bedroom or for pc. I would reccomend these especially as they continue to get cheaper. The receiver has a very small footprint and the satellites are small and sleek. they look and feel high end and thats...

Great Sound System! Purely digital!

Strengths: Two rear wireless speakers; wireless remote control; it's transmitter is also and high-end, mini A/V Reciever; Speakers are digital, not analog, & are THX Certified! Plus They sound Great in Surround!

Weakness: Rear Surround Speakers are wireless in that they don't need to be hooked up to the rest of the Surround Sound System with audio cables, but still require power through the included Power cables.

I waited a very long time before I finally got this setup, but only because the prices finally fell significantly during the Christmas Season, and I've never regretted it since. It's difficult to find a good wireless surround sound system, since something must provide those so-called 'wireless' rear surround speakers with power, and if the sound system wants to be good, as in, audible, the power...

Like it, but....

Strengths: Easy Setup; Wireless speakers work like a champ; Attractive Design; lots of audio inputs

Weakness: Not a very powerfull system; use in small room; no equalizer or treble/bass controls

Overall I am happy with this system. Setup was a breeze and the wireless rear speakers work extremely well. I was afraid that I would get a humm or hiss from the rears, but they are completly silent when there is no audio coming from them. They sound quality is very good, but not very loud. I had the volume maxed out and although it was louder than I would normally listen to audio, the sound is...

Somewhat wireless

Strengths: Neat idea - wireless signal to rear speakers

Weakness: Interferes with 802.11n network and 2.4GHz cordless phones. There are still a whole lot of cables.

This was a good idea, just not ready for prime time. When running, its wireless connection to the rear speakers nearly kills my 802.11n network altogether, and 2.4GHz cordless phones will have static. Sound quality seems good, but I've never heard the 5550s for comparison. Although the rear two speakers don't require wires to the main setup, they still need to be plugged in for power (perhaps...

Very good system

Strengths: Can connect to a plethora of inputs. Semi-wireless rear speakers.

Weakness: Expensive ( however i got mine for 50% less than retail) 2.4 ghz frequency can render wireless phone useless

Overall, this system is very good. i have it hooked up to my hdtv receiver and my computer and dvd player, and it's awesome. THe quality of the speakers is very good, although a bit less powerful than the z-5500's. Overall, i'd give them a 4.5/5

Logitech Z-5450 is priced right and sounds awesome.

Strengths: Sound and feel is exceptional with small and powerful 5.1 speakers. The price is resonable compared with other p.c. speaker systems.

Weakness: Even though system is wireless it has many wires and the controller can get quite heated after long periods of use.

This is my second logitech surround sound system of which I highly recommend because It has low distortion ,looks and also sounds great. It will compliment any high end computer.

Great for small rooms or if wireless is a must

Strengths: Wireless rears, easy to setup, lots of inputs, headphone jack, all major components are housed in the subwoofer, crisp sound output.

Weakness: Only center channel speaker has a tilt adjustment, power cords to rears do not disconnect from speakers to assist with running cords, power indicator light on control module glows bright red when off.

This system is replacing my main home theatre setup in our family room. Sony 5.1 DTS amp, Polk fronts & center, Wharfdale rears, and JBL subwoofer. I have finally realized that 98% of the time all that gear was just overkill. Most of my movie viewing is in the evening with a great pair of Sennheiser headphones. The Z-5450 is easy for the family to use via a Logitech 880 remote. The rears are nice...

THX Certified Wireless Surround Sound Bliss

Strengths: Can be used for both your PC or your television. Sound quality is really nice. The rear speakers are wireless except for a plug for an outlet. THX Certified.

Weakness: Doesn't have many options for adjusting the sound when hooked up to a television. Rear speakers sound quality is reduced.

Offers really nice sound, and since the rear speakers are wireless you won't have wires running all over. The issue of the sound quality for the rear speakers isn't a big deal, as you won't notice one bit when using them. Highly recommended.
