Satisfied with the Athlon X2 4400+ ADV4400DAA6CDStrengths: Has all the strengths of the ADA 4400+ but runs at 89 watts instead of 110 and has a wider temperature range. Weakness: None that I am aware of. This processor runs cool (about 33C average) with my Thermaltake Silent Boost RX K8 fan and heat sink. The only performance difference I have measured is that my computer takes about 7 seconds less to start up with this CPU over the Athlon 3200+ that was in this system. AMD Makes Great ProcessorsStrengths: Fast, multi-tasking is a non issue. Weakness: A little pricey. We're paying for their advertising budget as the R&D for the next generation processor is already well underway. I have had not had any problems with this processor so far. Used a Athlon XP processor prior to this. I can notice a definite difference in speed, although my Athlon XP still does the job on 90% of what I do, this is faster and mult-tasking is a breeze. Upgraded from AMD 3200 - Good Descision.Strengths: Great price = $226. Dual Core compatibility with older MBs. Fast & runs cool. Weakness: Any fan but stock voids warranty, bigger concern for OC'ers (not me). Most of my programs aren't optimzed for dual core - yet. I built my system on a budget (under $1k) about a year ago with the intent I could slowly upgrade components to lengthen the life of the computer. Great processor!Strengths: multi-tasking, temps Weakness: none really, just expected better HSF from AMD This is a great processor. I wanted it to handle my multi-tasking needs, and it has done a great job. My temps are around 41C under no load, and they get up to 50C under full load. I have noticed a big difference in system responsiveness, which I can attribute to the dual-core. Two are better than one
Strengths: Dual cores, lower power consumption.
Weakness: If I had waited 2 months, I could have saved $250! Some programs are not multiprocessor-friendly.
Software that can utilize both cores perform significantly faster. Multitasking with several programs running is also much smoother. However, there are some games out there that do not work well in a multiprocessor system. With some games, you can get around this by setting Processor Affinity to a single processor for the games exe in Task Manager.
