Great for use in home or on the go.Strengths: Very good sound quality. Simple and compact. Weakness: Stand on the back of the device seems a bit flimsy. I've been really happy with the IM9 so far. I've been using it for about a month now without any problems. The sound quality is very suprising for its size. I've listened to a number of these portable ipod speakers and this one not only sounds the best but it is extremely portable and durable. One of the features I like the best is that the ipod sits inside of the device in what acts like a tape...

Altec Lansing IM9 System for iPod
Strengths: Altec Lansing sound quality - better for outdoors than indoors. (Slight hiss)
Weakness: Handle could have been better designed.
Hard to justify spending more on a more expensive unit such as Bose, after you hear it. Built very solidly and comes with carrying case. Perfect for use at picnics and at the pool.
